About the Author:
Novella814 (formerly is a teenaged girl who is a sophomore in high school. She enjoys reading, writing and editing and would love to pursue a career in the latter. She is positively obsessed with aikido and is tempted to write fics involving both it and kendo--portrayed in an accurate light. She plays piano and is the cellist in her string quartet.

Some of her favorite novels at the moment include The Ginger Tree, Sunshine, His Dark Materials, The Blue Sword, and The Left Hand of Darkness. Anything from Robin McKinley or Ursula K. LeGuin is guaranteed awesome.

She is also a complete Japanophile--to the point that she is willing to take Japanese online (for credit) over the summer. Some of her favorite manga include Fullmetal Alchemist, Evil Heart, With the Light, Evil Heart, Bakuman, Naruto, New York New York, Mushishi, Kinou Nani Tabeta?, Birthday (Sugimoto Ami), and pretty much everything by CLAMP and Zaou Taishi/Tsuda Mikiyo. Her favorite anime at the moment are Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Kyou Kara Maou!, and Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. She has a soft spot for het (EdWin, Almei, TakagiMiyoshi, GwendelAnissina, etc.) and BL (NaruSasu, SeiSub, TooruYuujirou, etc.).

She particularly recommends With the Light: Raising an Autistic Child (Tobe Keiko), which is very well portrayed and should be a must for all adults (and otherwise) dealing with children on the Autism Spectrum, and Evil Heart (Taketomi Tomo), which is a manga about aikido. Watch and point and say, "Ooh, look! Kotegaeshi! Shihonage!" :D
