-a little bit about the author that writes this crazy stuff-
I first got into fanfiction in 2000 when I stumbled across a little website known as Halo and Strata: The Ambiguously Gay Duo (I was twelve and had no idea what yaoi was). The webmistress' name was Crimson and she wrote predominately hilarious fics focusing on Ronin Warriors. Inspired by her stories, I attempted to write my own RW story. It failed miserably, but through it 'Princess Lightina' was born and, for sentimental reasons, I've kept her name as my own long after the deletion of the story.
From RW I branched into the Gundam Wing fandom, fell out of it several years later (with only two completed fics and countless ones abondoned before they had even begun), fell into Digimon and out of it with several incomplete stories before finding my niche in the Fruits Basket fandom. My passion for the fandom has cooled some, but I haven't actually abandoned it. Currently, my heart and soul lie with Naruto and a peaked interest in Ouran Host Club.
Over the years I've come to the conclusion that I'm a lover of angst (in fiction). As such, I write mainly angsty fics. I like being able to get into a person's head and it's easier to do when they're brooding or of the brooding variety. Name any character with a truamatic past and ask me who my favorite character is; it'll likely be them. The funny thing about that is, in terms of writing, it usually won't be them whom my story concentrates on, but their foil (i.e. Sasuke from Naruto is my favorite character, but more often than not I end up writing about Naruto XD).
I write one-shots mostly as they do not demand an update and I'm typically a lazy author. I am trying to break the habit, really, but it's hard trying to force myself to write something when my inspiration is elsewhere. Music is my inspiration for nearly everything and as such I listen to quite a variety of things. I do dislike most rap and country though. As such, I get easily inspired to map out a Songfic, but finishing one is a whole different story. Also, I have standards regarding Songfics; I like them to have an actual story instead of just lyrics and smidgen of plot developement here. A song should enhance a story, in my opinion. I'm not quite sure if I achieved that in Somewhere I Belong or not, but I'd like to think I did. It was, after all, a 29 page Songfic.

Current Obsession: Naruto
I will read and support just about any pairing in this, or any fandom, for that matter, so long as it is well written. I'm not much of a yaoi-fanfic-girl, but I do have a secret fetish for KakaSasu... Not so much for smut-value as I just like their dynamic (in any form, it doesn't have to have a sexual connotation). If I do have an OTP it's NaruSaku. As such, most of my fics revolve around those two (especially my one-shots). While I have never read any of these (or many, in any case), ItaSaku, GaaSaku, GaaHina, and SasuHina make me do WTFery. No offense to anyone who ships those pairings, but seriously... WRY? Send me a link to a good fic that caters to them and convince me that they make sense without going OOC. Yes, I am being serious about that; I'm convincable.

Upcoming Obsession: Ouran Host Club
OMG this series is so cute, and angsty, and funny, and just a multitude of other things! It's also the first series that has actually peaked the interest of my inner yaoi fangirl. While I ship Tamaki/Haruhi, but I can't help but to be infatuated with Kyouya/Tamaki... mainly in an unrequited sense, but still! And then there's the twins... Oh, you anime dopplegangers of Fred and George! XD

-the stories in the making-
As Naruto is my current fandom of choice, many of my "upcoming" stories are for that fandom. I have a lot of one-shot ideas, but I do have a few multi-parters in the works. The main one I'm working on is tentatively titled A Mutual Agreement and centers on Hinata and Neji. NejiHina is the main pairing as their marriage is at the heart of the plot, but it's the side pairing that really make up the story. I'm hoping to being posting it sometime at the end of May 2008.
The second multi-part I've been giving a lot of thought to lately has no title, but centers on a team formation of Ino, Hinata, and Shino. Originally, because I've been roleplaying Hinata and Ino over at Last Stop Gakuen, I wanted to write a fic about the two of them. Shino wasn't suppose to become a main character, but he did. Anyway, the fic will center on the three of them having to pull an infiltration mission as two geisha and their bodyguard... The details are obviously still in the works, but it's shaping up to be a very interesting little (or not so little) piece :D.
Finally, the third main multi-part I have in the works is tentatvely titled Losing A Whole Year and centers on Sakura and the two years that occure before the time skip. Whether or not Naruto and Sasuke will make appearances in this fic remains to be seen.
I have many, many one-shots to in the works. Most will be NaruSaku. A lot more will be Sasuke angst.
As for Ouran Host Club, I have an interesting, but shaping up to be long one-shot involving Kyouya/Tamaki goodness that doesn't forget canon facts! (Yay, why aren't there more of those?) Oh, Kaoru and Hikaoru, I love your crafty-ness X3;;.

Website Pimping: Hidden Gems
Hidden Gems is a three step process. First, there's the Hidden Gems' C2, to showcase role-model Naruto fanfiction. Then there's the Hidden Gems website (which is under heavy construction) which will provide writing tutorails, advice, and suggestions. Finally, there will be a HG livejournal community to promote good-will among newbie and veteran authors for the fandom and provide interactive helpful tips. Not much has been accomplished so far, but keep the site bookmarked! It'll be up and running soon enough.
