Author has written 36 stories for NCIS, Jane Eyre, Bourne series, Misc. Tv Shows, Disturbia, American Girl, Misc. Books, Band of Brothers, Hercule Poirot series, Pacific, and Rush, 2008. What you should know about me... I am a Midwestern housewife in my thirties, the wife of an awesome husband and the mom of three smart kids. I love being a stay-at-home mom which gives me time to bake cookies (I know that's cliche but who doesn't like cookies?), run an online sewing business, and yes, write fan fiction. I have a ridiculous stash of fabric; I sew my own dresses from vintage patterns; and my favorite band ever is Jukebox the Ghost (one of these days I am going to use one of their lyrics in a fic just to see if anyone catches it). I got into writing fan fiction because of NCIS, back when the show was clever and original and Gibbs was just a guy with three ex-wives. For a while in Seasons 4 & 5 I was trying to 'fix' the show, fic-wise, but now I am just shutting off my brain and enjoying the show. I think at this point I have written everything about 'SWAK' that needs to be written, so I may be done with the fandom. (But they could still surprise me.) In the meantime, I will write for any other fandom that particularly catches my fancy, from Victorian British literature to a defunct Australian cop show. For a long time I thought of myself as not being a shipper, but I've come to realize it's more that I am not a Tiva shipper. I actually have an unhealthy love for Obscure Canon Ships, whether it's Faramir/Eowyn or Jimmy Palmer and that embalmer girl. I particularly like to write Awkward Romance Stories, with unspoken feelings and sidelong glances in place of flowery speeches. I think the most Awkwardly Romantic thing I wrote was my story Acceptance (based on the not-very-good TV series 'Lilies') where they were actually married and still acted all derpy around each other. We'll Always Have and Blue and Wounded have a healthy dose of unfulfilled longing as well; so does my Kit Kittredge story which remains probably my favorite thing I've ever written. One other thing about me is that I am a Mormon, and as such, I only use swear words in emergencies, so you won't find any in my stories. I know that is not always true to the way the characters talk, but I consider it a creative challenge. | |||||||
