The profile of discombobulated.shoe. In which I prattle on about myself. Feel free to skip it.

ME:

I like shoes and the word 'discombobulated'. Hence the name. I also like the words 'kaleidoscope' and 'inauspicious'. Elsewhere on the internet I am known as “oddsplodge”, I considered changing my name to that here but I like the name “discombobulated.shoe” too much to change it.

I’m a high school student, currently in Year Eleven, and I spend an inordinate amount of time reading, playing games and watching anime and movies. My greatest talent lies in procrastinating, as anyone who’s been following Animagi should be painfully aware of by now (sorrysorrysorry! I promise to update soon!...ish)

READING, ANIME AND FANDOMS:

I like reading. A lot. Unfortunately I don’t find myself with enough time to do much reading, and every now and then, when I’m feeling particularly optimistic about my ability to diminish my ever increasing workload, I wander down to the library and borrow about a million billion books, only to return them two weeks later without having read a single one. It is a sad sad tale, indeed. When I do find the time to read I enjoy the works of Tamora Pierce, Robin Hobb, J. K. Rowling, Melina Marchetta, Jaida Jones, Danielle Bennet, Douglas Adams, Markus Zusak, Holly Black, Scott Westerfeld, John Green, David Levithan, Isobelle Carmody, Cornelia Funke &c. &c. &c.

I also enjoy watching anime, with my favourite shows including Prince of Tennis, Air Gear, Ouran High School Host Club, Bleach, Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop, Fullmetal Alchemist, Full Metal Panic!, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Ergo Proxy, Death Note, Code Geass, Chobits &c. &c. &c.

The only fandom I really follow is Harry Potter; I don’t really read or write much from other fandoms, though it’s not unheard of. I’ve never really been that into ‘shipping’ or any form of ‘ship wars’, as insanity-fuelled arguments just aren’t my cup of milo.

WRITING:

I like to write, lately I’ve been trying to focus on original stuff, which is partly why I haven’t written any non-MAT fanfiction in over two years. Yes, I like to think that is a justifiable reason.

My partner in crime, and on occasion MAT, is Tiger-Cub684 who co-writes two fanfics with me; The Marauders’ Advice Thingy and Wizards of Hogs. I also write things on FictionPress (here), Livejournal (here) and DeviantART (here).

Works in progress:

The Marauders Advice Thingy – Chapter 29 currently up. Chapter 30 shall be forthcoming in the hopefully-not-so-distant future. We Pinky Promise. In further news, Tiger has thoughtfully set up a forum, where one may choose to partake in inane discussions (such is the nature of forums) or catch up on our latest excuse/reason for not updating.

Animagi -- If anyone's still keeping track of this, I'd like to assure you that I do in fact intend to eventually write and update the last chapter. I realise it has been a while and I would like to state for the record that I am not actually dead, I just do a pretty good job of seeming like it.

The Noble And Most Ancient House of Black -- To be updated whenever I feel like it. So, probably not very often.

FUN SUFF

Okay, so I started this game on FictionPress.com. Baisically, someone writes a short story ending with a cliff hanger, and other participants follow up the cliff hanger with their own ending. The author then chooses an ending, and the author of that ending writes the next cliff hanger and so on and so forth. It's explained in more detail and in a slightly more coherent fashion on this forum, and there's an archive of cliff hangers that have beeen entered (currently empty). Take a look if you're at all interested!
