Hey everyone!
It's only fair to write something down while readers take their time to write you a review!
Who am I?
One of the big questions in life. Who are you? Who am I? Well, no need to go all philosophical. My name is Patricia, I'm 16 years old. Reading and writing is what I like best, next to listening to music and acting. I'm foreign, that's why I let QueenIsabella practice her magic at my stories! I'm Dutch btw.. And I have dark-blonde hair and green/blue eyes :-)
What do I like?
Like I said, reading, writing, listening to music and acting. Let's look into that a bit closer, shall we? A few of my favorite authors: Marion Zimmer Bradley, Virginia Andrews, E. Rose Sabin, Kathy Reichs, and Darren Shan. About writing.. Well.. scroll down, will ya =P Music.. Oh, I like all kinds of music! Music where I get inspiration from at the moment are songs by Within Temptation and Evanescence. And of course, one of the things I also love to do is hang out with friends :-)
And what don't I like? I'll name up a few. Unconstructive critism, insects, meat (I'm a vegetarian, lol!)
People I've met
(yes.. I got the idea from niah1988's profile)
Just a little dedication to the fabulous niah1988. I've met her at ff.net, we started talking after I reviewed one of her amazing stories. In the review I said something about screwing cursors, which indicates what sort of crazy person I am nowadays.. Anyhow, we started talking she Belgian, which means she speaks Dutch too! and now we have this.. wonderful friendship. We write together just take a look at her account where you can find A Little Fun Under The Sun and this fall we hope to post One Step Closer at my account. But, it's so much more than a co-authorship. We talk a lot, and don't let me get started about the laughs we have (to niah: Oohh, Boness!) I just wanted to say she's wonderful and I don't want to lose her anytime soon!
And of course, a few greetings towards the girls from the Boneyard. You all are so nice! Hi:-)
Campaign for Better Reviews
This is a wonderful idea from niah1988 and jemb.
"Basically, we want to encourage all the readers out there to leave more than a general comment when they review a story. Be honest, tell the writer what you liked or if you didn't like something. It is important that you don't just flame the writer though. Be constructive with criticism - be careful the way you phrase your words when pointing out the mistakes or what you didn't like. Also, be sure to tell them what you did like too. No-one wants to hear that their entire story sucked from start to finish."
It's always useful to a writer to hear what people really think. The so-called 'cookie' reviews are maybe encouraging to some authors, but they don't help improve the story in any way. So.. You know what to do, right? (No? Take a look at jemb's profile!)
Thank you!
x Addy
