Author has written 14 stories for RENT, Village, and Doctor Who.

Hey,

My name's Emily, and besides attending college for English and Linguistics, 'Rent' is pretty much my life. So naturally, I have taken to fanfiction...

I've wedged myself into the genre of 'Mark and Roger friendship'. I'm pretty sure that's all I ever write.

I write as Mark in all my fics...he's my favorite...

My Mark's personality varies by story. He often rambles insightfully, but he is a narrator. He doesn't always shy away behind the camera, nor does he throw the camera aside and insist on being blunt. Roger tends to be the catalyst for that. I'm pretty sure you can't have Mark without Roger. Hence the friendship. Also, Anthony Rapp was the original- and will always be Mark to me.

I generally do not read M/R. But, with proper explanation a good writer can make it work, and make it work beautifully. In my opinion, they have such a strong friendship already that slash isn't necessary. Larson intended them to be roommates, not lovers. I'm also skeptical about OC's. I'm strictly orthodox when it comes to pairing. The storyline in general, really. If you haven't seen the '94 NYTW version, go find it. It's the Bible.

...Do I need a disclaimer? I'll go with the typical: I'm not Jonathan Larson. I don't own Rent. It would be fucking awesome to own Rent, but alas. I write fanfiction.

Hope you enjoy my stuff...

Author's Notes on RENT fics:

-The story 'Distance Between Me and What I See' is being collaborated on with rexmanningdays.

-Also, I am aware that Benny was pulled from the East Village location post-Rent, but for the story's sake in 'Fluoxetine Hydrochloride', I kept him employed as proprietor of the Avenue B apartments.

-'Digression' -- It's not 'Rent', but M. Night Shyamalan deserves a medal- and 'the Village' is probably my favorite love story/movie in general.

-Finally, I have decided to restart 'Strangers', beginning at chapter four...hopefully it'll work out as planned...

Author's Notes on 'Doctor Who' fics:

They're piling up fast!-

P.S. I'm a HUGE Ten/Reinette shipper...

-'Hydrogen, Helium, Heat' is a 10/Rose, just because way too much was left unsaid and unfinished following the events of 'Doomsday'.

-'Assimilation' is a Master/Rose fic, banking on John Simm's portrayal of the character, although in this story the Master has regenerated.

-'The Crow and the Dove' takes place during or after 'The Girl in the Fireplace'- it's up to you. I used this story to explore the darker, more selfish side of The Doctor, and to break open his supposed ambivalence to a life "on the slow path".

-'The Composure of a Courtesan' contains sex and violence, though not explicitly.

-'Ecclesiastes' also stirs up that darker, more selfish side of the Doctor, when he is forced into unfavorable circumstances.
