Author has written 12 stories for Criminal Minds, NCIS, and Stargate: Atlantis. "Fiction lives its own life without asking for permission." --- Astrid Lindgren "A book knows more than its author." --- Milan Kundera Well, since I bitch about it in all my stories, I guess I should post it here too. I'm not English speaking. It's neither my first nor my second language, but a foreign language. I've spent a whopping two weeks of my life in English speaking countries, although I've run into plenty of English speaking people in other parts of the world. But, I'm not a complete novice either. Besides eight years of school-English, I've also taken two semesters at university, one of them with a grammar book so complicated that my professor (born in the UK) wanted to desert and start teaching French. And I did get a top-grade in that class. So while not perfect, my stories are perfectly readable. And if you spot a mistake, any teensy-tiny grammar or spelling mistake, any misunderstandings of American culture or just American everyday life, then for god's sake, tell me about it! I'm never going to learn if you just sit in front of your computer and snigger about it. So speak up people! And why haven't I gotten myself a beta? Well, your guess is as good as mine. "Let the intent and content of your writing be what's important. I'd much rather get a miss-spelled love letter than a correctly spelled hate letter. Although a miss-spelled hate letter would be even better, cause then I can pretend that the person who wrote it is really stupid." --- Petter Lidbeck, May 2007 | |||||
