Author has written 9 stories for Batman Begins/Dark Knight. About Me: I'm a twenty year-old English major at Ball State University. I'm ginger and proud, OCD and not happy about that, and asexual. My personality is best described as an mix of Bunny Ears Lawyer and Cloud Cuckoolander. That is, a crazy person who focuses brilliantly in select areas and someone with her head permanently in the clouds. I'm also ridiculously naive and trusting, with all the coordination of an uncoordinated thing. I'm a purple belt in tae kwon do, though I haven't been to the classes in a long while and have probably forgotten it all. I'm the middle kid, with a younger brother and an older sister. My older sister, incidentally, is as much the inspiration for my Joker as Heath Ledger, at least when he's being his version of nice. My nasty Joker is more based on my father. About Asexuality: Contrary to arguments I've heard to this effect, asexuality doesn't mean afraid of sex/commitment/men. It doesn't mean I'm a repressed lesbian, that I was abused, or that I just got out of a bad relationship. It puts me in the one percent of the population that identify as feeling no sexual attraction whatsoever. I also identify as aromantic asexual, meaning that I don't feel romantic attraction either. Could I find the right person some day? Maybe. I'm not discounting the possibility. But I'm not searching for a partner either, nor do I feel the desire too. For more information on asexuality, check out the Asexuality Visiblity and Education Network at http://www.asexuality.org. Things That Make Me Very Happy: Disney and Pixar, always (when they aren't making me cry). Most musicals, my sister, mother, grandmother, and most of my extended family. Also my brother, when he's not being annoying. My friends, my cat, knitting, sewing, writing, making (bad) art, the Internet. Rain and snow, and fuzzy socks. Also my rainboots. They are bright yellow and as ridiculous as my giant rainbow umbrella. Most all villains. Glasgow smiles. Those were my favorite scars even before the Joker. If you think having favorite scars is messed up, I also have a favorite disease: scurvy, because it's fun to say. Kittens and freshly baked cookies. Things That Set Off My Kill Sense: Closed-minded people. Bigots and zealots. Abusive relationships. Those Epic Movie/Meet the Spartans/Other Talentless Crap films. Romantic comedies, for the most part, and most romances in general. People who talk loudly in theaters and kick the backs of seats. The idea that cartoons and comics are only for children. Favorite Books: Catch-22, A Clockwork Orange, To Kill A Mockingbird, The Stand, JK Rowling's Harry Potter series, Battle Royale, The Sandman, Speak, The Paper Bag Princess (brilliant picture book that's been taught in feminist literature courses), and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, among many, many others. Favorite Flicks: Star Wars, Breakfast on Pluto, The Princess Bride, Mary Poppins, Wall-E, Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Back to the Future Parts I and II, Watchmen, and the latest Star Trek. Once again, among many other films. Favorite Music: This one's tricky. I don't like particular bands or genres so much as particular songs. But if there's one "style" of music I'm very fond of, it's lyrical dissonance. That is, when the mood of the music and the mood of the lyrics are two very different things. For example, "Carol of the Bells," which is all about having a merry Christmas but sounds like horror film music to me, or Suzanne Vega's "My Name is Luka," which is an upbeat-sounding song about child abuse. Artists that I am particularly fond of include They Might Be Giants, The Beatles, Alanis Morissette, Suzanne Vega, and Jonathan Coulton. Favorite Authors: Stephen King, Dr. Seuss, JK Rowling, George Carlin, Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett, Phillip K Dick, Beverly Cleary, Anne Rice. Among others, of course. I'm a librarian's kid, so I've read a few thousand books over my life. Favorite Actors: Julie Andrews, Heath Ledger, Leonard Nimoy, Cillain Murphy, Morgan Freeman, Nicole Kidman, Michael Caine, Helena Bonham Carter, Anthony Stewart Head, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Zachary Quinto, Clark Gable, Christian Bale, Vivien Leigh, Aaron Eckhart, Mark Hamill, and many others. Favorite Arists: Edvard Munch ("The Scream") and Salvador Dali. I tend to like minimalism or impressionism. And general weirdness. Fan Art: Behold, the fanart for my fics! It's a low, flat monotone, and I've been told by various people that I sound like a robot, Squidward, or Ben Stein. On the other hand, when I'm reading things aloud I'm told that it's very expressive and I ought to go into radio broadcasting. I have a ridiculously strong memory, usually about random things. I can recite chapters out of kids' books I haven't read in years from memory, or tell you conversations people had in front of me when I was four or five. I am a hypochondriac. I think unicorns are the best thing ever. But traditional unicorns, with the cloven hooves, lion's tails, and goats' beards will always be the best. None of this "horses with horns" nonsense, outside of Charlie the Unicorn and its sequels. I would love to be a mermaid, even though I hate water and can barely swim. I'd also love to be a centaur, thanks to their portrayal in Fantasia. | |||||||||
