We all know how the Naruto story started, with him having the Kyuubi sealed into his body by the Forth Hokage thereby making him into a Jinchuuriki, who the villagers of Konoha, his people who were supposed to treat him as a hero, attack, abuse and neglect, both mentally and physically on a daily basis.

Let's say that on one of Naruto’s birthdays where he is attacked he reveals something that makes people question their actions. During the harsh beating where Naruto is kicked, punched, stabbed and several other gruesome things, let’s say he reveals the famous bloodline used by the First Hokage, the Mokuton, which he manifests to protect himself from further attack by the villagers.

After the event occurred many questions arise, such as whether or not Naruto is related to the Senju Clan. For the Council of Konoha, the possibility that an user of the Mokuton exists leaves many implications to be acknowledged, and while they argue plans have already been set to protect Naruto from what might become a hostile situation. While this is going on Naruto vanishes from the hospital and out of Konoha where his life has only just begun.

Things to happen in this challenge:

1. The general outline of this story must follow the canon with only the altercations on the writer’s part to fit the criteria.

2. Naruto's attitude can be whatever you want it to be as long as it does not divert from the criteria.

3. Naruto must have the Mokuton bloodline and the potential to use all the techniques that come with it. As an extra Naruto can also use by extension the Puppet Technique/Kugutsu no Jutsu and Konan’s skill in paper manipulation Kami Origami no Jutsu/Paper Art Technique due to these skills possessing wood properties.

4. Naruto’s use of the Kyuubi’s chakra is more accessible and controllable since he has the Wood Release; it allows him to suppress it if it gets out of control. He can also use his bloodline to focus it into his puppets as well as his paper based techniques increasing their attributes. This is optional so you don’t have to use this concept but it is there if you want to use it.

5. Naruto weapon and taijutsu style can be whatever you want it to be, you can even make up your own.

6. You can choose to give Naruto a trainer. If you decide to have someone train him here is a list of potential teachers:

a) Tenzo/Yamato (He is the only other user of the Mokuton.)

b) Iruka (He seems to be the only person to have been willing to train and prepare Naruto at being a ninja.)

c) Jiraiya (Most obvious reason is he is the Godfather to Naruto so it is his responsibility to look out for him.)

d) Rin (It’s unknown if she’s dead so she is a potential a teacher because she was trained by Naruto’s father and would have done everything within her power to take care of him, adopting him even.)

e) Teuchi & Ayame (They may be ramen chefs but they’ve always treated Naruto well, and the idea that they could be skilled ninja’s in disguise has always been an appealing idea. So what if they trained Naruto?)

7. Naruto romantic interest can be anyone you want it to be, even a harem if you like since it seems to be a popular theme in many Naruto fan fictions (the relationship can't be slash though.) However, you don’t have to use the canon characters for a relationship. You can make up your own if you like. Here are a few made up female characters I thought of at random. Use them if you like and add to their skills if you think it will serve them well:

a) Riri (Name means Lily. She is the daughter of Zetsu. Her appearance is like a younger version of Kurenai only with green hair, smaller version of the Venus flytrap jaws on shoulders, and feature similar to father from skin to eyes. If she ever ends up with Naruto it would be because of his Mokuton which is the closest thing to plants.)

b) Funu Uchiha (Name means Fan. She is the direct descendant of Madara Uchiha. She has Madara’s long hair style and some facial features which are constant with all Uchiha. Body type is close in appearance to either Ino or Temari. Her skills would be similar to that of all Uchiha, what they see they copy. Attitude is similar to Tayuya’s with the threatening and aggression but it is not always present, it only appears when she is really annoyed. Her infatuation with Naruto could be because he is probably a descendant of the man who defeated her ancestor, and like Sasuke, she is all for restoring her clan as long as it is with someone she considers worthy.)

c) Suteru Akimichi (Name comes from the word butterfly in Japanese. She is the young sister to Choji with skills and attributes similar to him and many members of her family. Her attitude is gentle and nurturing in nature, and she likes to cook as a hobby and pleasure. Her appearance is unlike any of the other members of her family, she has a fairer look compared to her mother with an appearance similar to Tsunade but younger, with some slight chubby areas on her body which exemplify her figure as attractive. She has similar markings on her cheeks like her brother, and red hair like her father. Her reasons for falling for Naruto could be related to a crush but also to the fact that Naruto eats her food she cooks which to her is flattering.)

8. Given Naruto gift, there are many who would do anything to gain it, some good and some bad. Hiashi Hyuga wants to establish a marriage contract with Naruto and his first daughter because of his bloodline and lineage, given the good relations between the two clans of Hyuga and Senju in the past, and wants to re-establish that. Danzo sees Naruto as he has always seen him, a weapon and political peace to be played on his board so that he can achieve his goals. The Civilian Council is as you would expect them to be. Pompous, arrogant and corrupt. They say they want Naruto for the fact that he belongs where his home is but this is a lie. They want to use Naruto to breed others with his bloodline by using the Clan Restoration Act (C.R.A.) For the Clan Council it is more based on protecting their village and those that live in their walls, to them Naruto falls into this category. Like all stories I’ve come across this is almost a constant theme since it brings into question the motives of the Council.

9. Naruto relationship with the rookie nine and teachers can be what you want but it is in most stories pretty much the same apart from three characters receiving the bashing. Sasuke, Sakura and Kakashi will be the ones in for a bashing. Sasuke wants more power to kill his brother and sees Naruto as means of obtaining that so he will demand, challenge and threaten Naruto on occasion, and loose. Sakura is the typical fan girl who thinks Sasuke is always right and Naruto is trying to upstage him. One aspect which must happen is that she becomes a Medical Ninja. Kakashi’s bashing comes from how he treats his genin’s. He shows blatant favouritism towards Sasuke where he trains him more then the others. It is so blatant that he will on occasion ask/command Naruto to help Sasuke by teaching him some of his jutsu skills which Naruto will deny. In essence there will be a great deal of friction between these three and Naruto.

10. It has always been a concept I’ve enjoyed reading when Naruto regularly plays with Konohamaru and his friend Udon and Moegi, and having them refer to Naruto as oniichan, oniisan or oniisama. The games they play are usually Ninja or playing pranks on people.

11. Again, you can choose to use this concept but I do believe it will serve the story well if you do. Naruto’s family history/lineage is that his father is the grandson of the Second Hokage, which was kept secret. His mother is the lost older sister of Konan, both separated during the war, and both are distant relatives of the Senju Clan which in this story explains how Naruto is able to use Kami Origami no Jutsu. Tsunade is his (I'm not sure! HELP!!) Jiraiya will be Godfather as he always is.

+Juken (Gentle Fist) Challenge+

There have been many stories where Naruto has bloodlines and skills that no one else can do, and in most cases they are great to read. Here’s an idea that has been in my brain for ages.

Imagine what Naruto life would be like if he was trained or knew the fighting style of the Hyuuga Clan but imagine that Naruto used it differently from the Hyuuga. While the Hyuuga’s bloodline allows them to use there fighting style to slow, disable and destroy chakra pathways they need their bloodline to do so. Naruto on the other hand does not. So how would he utilize a fighting style that requires a bloodline to bring out its best results? The answer is he does not utilize their fighting style, in the traditional sense that is; in fact what he does is use it differently in such a way that it cannot be considered the gentle fist. Because of the lack of a bloodline Naruto is unable to affect the chakra pathways; instead he focuses his attention on affecting the pressure points all over the human body. He uses the same fighting stances, moves and techniques but because he is affecting pressure points the results are far more devastating (think Fist of the North Star.) He is able to hit someone and essentially blow of limbs with nothing more than a tap of his finger, he can make a man’s body stop moving by disabling or destroying the connections that allow information from the brain to reach the other parts of the human body, and he can make a person body go numb making a person slow and sluggish in a fight. He can also use this style to bring relief to pain by affecting the pressure points. Due the devastating nature that Naruto’s use of the Juken can produce it cannot be considered the gentle fist style and instead goes by another name…

… Rougufu (Rough Fist.)

Things to happen in this challenge:

1. The general outline of this story must be the same but has to have it where Naruto either gains the skill of the Juken by being trained by the Hyuuga or by watching them when they were not looking. Some of you writers may think that it is impossible for a Hyuuga to miss a spy but let’s just say they are unable to catch Naruto if he is watching them.

2. Naruto's attitude can be whatever you want it to be as long as it fits with the criteria of the challenge.

3. Naruto can have other skills, techniques and if you like a bloodline, as long as it is secondary to his Juken training.

4. Naruto’s trainer depends, it depends on if he acquired the Juken by being trained by a Hyuuga or by watching them. If he was trained it would be that Hyuuga who is his trainer, if not then it is entirely up to you but quite frankly, who else can train him on how to use the Juken?

5. Naruto love in this story as in the previous challenge is for you to decide, but if you want you can use this idea which I think will benefit the story development. Let’s say that Naruto was the one who rescued Hinata when she was being abducted and was the one who killed the kidnapper by showing for the first time how devastating his Juken can be. Little does he know that Hinata, the girl he rescued, after the event has taken to following him and it is from that her crush is formed on little Naruto.

6. Naruto’s relationship with the rest of the cast is entirely up to you.

+Clone Technique Challenge+

When I first saw Naruto using the Shadow Clone Technique I wondered what it would be like if his control was greater with clones then it was in the manga and series. Here is the proposal for such a challenge.

What if Naruto’s control when it came to his clone technique (or any clone technique) was superior enough that he was able to sustain them indefinitely and possibly do much more with them?

There are many variations of the cloning technique. Different elemental ones and chakra based but all of them have some things in common and that is they all take chakra and concentration of will to make happen along with the hand signs.

Let us say that when Naruto was young he decided to excel in the art of cloning, not just one but all versions that he is able to use. You’re probably wondering how he would do this since in the canon he showed that his immense chakra made it impossible to do the standard genin version, not including the fact that his chakra control was bad. It seemed that he could only perform high powered techniques also. The solution I thought is something I learned when seeing Nagato’s (Pain’s) true appearance.

The six paths of pain bodies need the use of chakra rods which are imbedded in Nagato’s body to be controlled. If there was any way for Naruto to gain control enough to keep his clones sustained for longer it would be through this or some form of acupuncture to help him focus his chakra. Essentially, Naruto could amass huge numbers like he always does and keep them from being dispelled for long durations.

Things to happen in this challenge:

1. The general outline of this story can be the same, apart from this, how you develop Naruto’s gaining of the numerous clone techniques is entirely up to you and your imagination.

2. Naruto's attitude can be whatever you want it to be.

3. Naruto most important skill has to be the clone techniques but even then he would need other skills to help him in a battle so go wild with what you believe he needs and what you think compliments his cloning techniques. Here is a list of clone(s) he could possibly do:

- Fire Clone (A clone which looks like the user but is made of fire. Imagine the Torch from Fantastic 4. Techniques vary and could be all fire based jutsu's.)
- Water Clone (Simple enough, the same as Zabuza's. Techniques vary and could be all water based jutsu's.)
- Wind Clone (Similar to the fire one but composed of air and wind. Techniques vary and could be all wind based jutsu's.)
- Earth Clone (Looks normal but can shift into Earth Release: Earth Spear form where skin is hard. Techniques vary and could be all earth based jutsu's.)
- Lightning Clone (Similar in look to fire and wind but composed of lightning. Techniques vary and could be all lightning based jutsu's.)
- Kyuubi Chakra Clone (A clone created from the demon fox. Looks like Naruto but has the same skin texture of the chakra cloke with white eyes and mouth.)
- Nature Energy Clone (A Sage art in itself. A clone created through the gathering of nature energy. Increased strength and speed is to be expected.)

You have probably noticed how I am always saying 'techniques vary' with each clone. The reason behind this because their abilities are limitless if applied properly. They are in retrospect similar to Kakuzu's Earth Grudge Fear masks. With all these elements and unique versions of clones Naruto could be a one man army on the field as well as a capable ninja in any give situation. He could create a clone that could act as his eyes, another as his muscle and so on.

4. When it comes to Naruto’s genin teacher you can choose whoever you want.

+Sannin Teachings Challenge+

What if during his younger years (before he became a Genin) Naruto found a scroll belonging to the Sannin? Written on the scroll are the training methods that Jiraiya, Orochimaru Tsunade went through as Genin, when under the tutelage of the Third Hokage Hiruzen Sarutobi. Like finding treasure, Naruto uses this scroll, to develop his skills to the point that other ninjas started seeing the "Legendary Three Ninja" in his demonstrations at school and missions he takes.

Things to happen in this challenge:

1. When and how Naruto finds the scroll before he becomes a genin is up to you. The general outline of this story can be the same as the canon or you can change it to suit the criteria of this story.

2. Naruto's attitude can be whatever you want it to be.

3. Naruto's skill development can be quick or slow and he can have a bloodline, but for the sake of the story I would advise that you avoid that and focus on Naruto being a well versed ninja where he develops a wide range of skills that any ninja can learn. From what I could gather, the Third Hokage was that kind of ninja where he had no bloodline but was able to use skills that any ninja could, so it would be consistent that Naruto be this way since everything that Jiraiya, Orochimaru, and Tsunade learned was from the Third before they decided to develop their own area of expertise. This does not mean that Naruto could not develop his own area of expertise, all it means is that Naruto must at least develop an area of expertise that is derived from the teachings of the scroll. Here is a list of possible expertise that he could develop from his training:

- Fūinjutsu (Sealing Techniques): Naruto could learn this not because of his family lineage but because of the fact that each Sannin learned this skill and used it in an unique way to suit their needs, so Naruto could go further and use it as a common place skill of his that he masters to a higher extent than anyone ever could.

- Balanced Jutsu Training: Naruto could develop a balance list of skills from the three areas of ninjutsu, genjutsu and taijutsu. By doing this he becomes a highly dangerous ninja since he could (with enough training and experience) take on the strongest ninjas without relying too much on a specific area since he would be well trained in each area enough to make him not only skilled but unpredictable.

What if Naruto was more then he appeared, what if he was part machine? After one night where no one was around to defend him he was brutally injured where he lost his limbs and was practically pulverized all over his torso, and other areas of his body which remained. That same night a figure appeared after the attack, the "Nameless Wandering Puppeteer with Insight to the World." This nameless puppeteer took what was left of Naruto, and decided to help him at one of his secret bases, one of many spread around the world. Using his knowledge on puppeteering he rebuilt Naruto's lost limbs and gave him extra gifts in addition to help him with his new advancements. Time passes and eventually Naruto returns to Konoha, different from when he vanished.

1. When and how Naruto returns to Konoha is up to you. The general outline of this story can follow the canon but you can do it your own way, just make sure the current criteria of Naruto being found by the puppeteer and changed by the puppeteer exists.

2. Naruto's attitude can be whatever you want it to be from cold and calculating (like a Terminator) to curious and naive (like Pinocchio.)

3. Naruto must have skills in puppeteering either by training from the wandering puppeteer or by programming (like information download) but if you have an idea on how h learns puppeteering then use it. Part of his new skills would be something akin to what Gai could do i.e., manipulating the forces of physics to create a powerful effect like the manipulation of sound, light, air but through some artificial means like where his arm could open up and reveal a apparatus that acts as the launching device for the technique. The reason he may only be able to use physics based techniques like Gai could be linked to an affliction on his chakra pathways which prevent him from using any ninja techniques, so as a replacement, to fix this problem, his chakra pathways could be replaced with something that acts as new chakra pathways. Basically there will be several replacement or upgrades on Naruto's person.

Naruto's use of his "new additions" to his body must bear some similarities or be the same to the wandering puppeteer. His body in many ways would be almost like what you would imagine Raiden from Metal Gear is like when he is an android ninja but not in the "how it looks" sense but in the "how it works sense." He would have components within him that regulate his bodies biological functions since the attack on him would have done extensive damage to some of his organs which the Kyuubi (for the sake of this story) could not heal. So he may have many of his vital organs replaced with some puppetry technology which acts in place of let’s say his heart, lungs, nerves-system and others.

Naruto's weapon and taijutsu style must show towards the changes in his person and that can be whatever you want it to be, you can even make up your own, however, there must a be some similarities between his skills and the wandering puppeteer to show a connection. One suggestion I would make is that since Naruto is a puppeteer, then he should create himself an army of puppets. An example of what I mean would be something like in Metal Gear Solid 4 where he has his normal force of puppets (The Frogs MGS4) and then his elite puppets (Beauty and the Beast Unit MGS4), what would follow would be larger puppets the size of building or more (Metal Gear Rex, Ray or Gekkos MGS4.) Because he may not be able to make clones, he would have these kinds of puppets to act as his extra hands whenever he goes on missions which require wide range destruction. Another skill he must possess in the art projectile weapons that can use poisons and explosives.

You may have noticed that I mentioned a lot of Metal Gear stuff in this challenge. That is because it is hard to describe the inner workings of the puppets. When comparing Sasori's puppets to the wandering puppeteer you notice a huge technology gap which makes you wonder how advanced that guy was compared to Sasori. The wandering puppeteer like android with the skills of Sasori and Deidara. So when trying to describe Naruto's capabilities I had to use an example which best describes Naruto's inner workings and skills.

4. Naruto's relationship with the cast socially can be what you like romantically it can also be what you like, but no yaoi/homosexual relations. When it comes to the whole village as a whole Naruto could become its overall defence where he would "start" an army of puppets for an invasion or war that has come close to the village. For this kind of scenario, he would need to have made a lot of puppets which his spread systematically around Konoha and disguised them to be in plain sight. In essence, Naruto would be like the "Big Brother" of Konoha where he is watching everything and making sure that the status-quo is in check when it concerns the 3rd or 5th Hokage.

6. Answer to some questions you may have:

- The wandering puppeteer is the "Asura Path" who is one of the "Six Paths of Pain", who we both know had no name (yet) and had met Jiraiya at some point.

- The wandering puppeteer was at Konoha maybe because he was visiting Jiraiya at the time, so his finding Naruto was pure chance you could say.

- The reason the wandering puppeteer was chosen is because of his interesting character, that since he was renowned as a puppeteer who most probably surpassed Sasori, which can be proved by what his "Pain Form" could do. He was described as being more like an android, as he had several body alterations. He was shown to have robotic inner workings, possessing six arms and three faces, and had a folded, serrated blade-like sash around his waist. Therefore and the fact that not much is known about him, he would be perfect for making Naruto into the machine he would be. It would be different compared to Sasori being used which is usual in these kinds of stories.
