Hello out there! I'm Suteki31392, and thank you for coming to read my profile! Or . . . . maybe I'm talking to no-one? That's one of the strange and wonderful things about the internet, isn't it? Scroll down to read my "Sections" on my fandoms - Fruits Basket and Doctor Who.
Well, a few facts about me.
Name: Katie
DOB: 12:01am on the 4th November, 1991. Seriously. What are the odds?
Nationality and ethnicity: 7/8 Irish, 1/8 British, living in Ireland. I consider myself Irish in any case. But my British great-grandmother sound so wonderful, and my dad always talks of her with a lot of admiration, she's very special to me.
Religion: Roman Catholic Christian (practicing).
Interests: Reading. I like any books except teen romance and sci-fi. Oddly enough, I do love Doctor Who. I actually enjoy few mangas, but I also love reading fanfiction, newspapers, news magazines (I LOVE news magazines), and Wikipedia (but I check for citation whenever I read it). My creative outlets are cooking, knitting, writing poems and short stories, and fanfiction.
Video games: I love computer games of pretty much any description. My favourite game series is Final Fantasy.
TV and films: I'm not a big TV person. The way I work is that I'll only watch a few select shows, but I'll watch those religiously, and I have to know what happens next and I'll visit all the fansites and forums, and read the fanfiction etc. Right now those are Lost, Doctor Who, Torchwood, The Sarah Jane Adventures, Ashes to Ashes and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but I also the news and the occasional documentary (anything David Attenborough!). Film genres I watch are drama, historicals, and films which deal with social issues. My favourite film of all time is Schindler's List. It is the most wonderful, beautiful, harrowing film I have ever seen, and I think everyone should see it.
School clubs: Green Schools Committee (or, as I like to call it, The Alexandra College Association of Neo-Hippies. We basically try to make the school more eco-friendly), Student Coucil, and Debating.
FRUITS BASKET SECTION
By the way, I'm spoiler-free, so if you want spoiler-free fanfics, you got 'em. The types of stories I like are;
Torirus, Akirus (my favourite pairing!), Gurerus, and Shigure-centric fics that explore his "dark side".
Current fanfics;
The Lesser of Two Evils; Tohru's memories are erased and in her absence, Yuki and Kyo are locked up at the Main House and everyone except Akito is consigned to misery in her absence. Shigure and Hatori discover that Akito has other plans for Tohru, though, and so are forced to kidnap her in order to save her. Hatori wonders what Shigure is planning, Shigure notices differences in Tohru's behavior, and Tohru herself becomes curious about her captors.
DOCTOR WHO SECTION
In order, my favourite doctors are Tom Baker - Patrick Troughton - Paul McGann - David Tennant - Peter Davison - Christopher Eccleston - William Hartnell - Sylvester McCoy - Colin Baker - Jon Pertwee. And I treat the BBC novels, Virgin, Telos, and Big Finish as canon, most of the time.
Doctor Who Stories I Have Seen/Researched Thoroughly (And When I Say Thoroughly, I Mean METICULOUSLY So):
All of the Hartnell era, all of the Troughton era (my 2nd fave Doctor - it was love at first sight!), just getting into the Pertwee era, about 40/100 of the Tom Baker era, all of the Eccleston and Tennant eras to date. And I have at least dipped my toe into all the other eras, so to speak.
Romantic pairings I like:
One/Cameca - anyone remember Cameca? It was so cute! I found their goodbye much sadder than "Doomsday" (and I did find "Doomsday sad!).
Ian/Barbara
Ben/Polly
Four/Sarah Jane - both requited and unrequited.
Four/Romana II
Romantic pairings I like when they're unrequited. Note: the format is "Not in Love/In Love"
Sarah/Harry
Doctor/Jack
Ten/Martha
Non-romantic pairings I like:
Doctor/Susan
Two/Victoria - I love their father/daughter dynamic!
Four/Benton - Hilarity!
Ten/Young Reinette - when she's a little girl. I just love seeing the Doctor around little kids. I wish the "imaginary friend status" could have been expanded more.
Ten/Jenny - well, of course! _
Pairings I do not like (and for shippers of these pairings - no offense intended!)
Doctor/Rose - It just doesn't work for me. Plus it's overdone. Umm . . . . that's it, that's the only one I don't like.
In My Opinion . . . . Katie's "Doctor Who Bests"
Best Doctor - Good ol' Scarfboy himself, Tom Baker! Woot!
Best Female Companions - Susan Foreman, Elizabeth Shaw, Sarah Jane Smith, Romana II, Martha Jones, Donna Noble
Best Male Companions - Ian Chesterton, Steven Taylor, Jamie McCrimmon, Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart, Harry Sullivan
Best Once-Off Characters (or, Characters Who Make Me Say "WHY Couldn't They Have Been Companions??) - Cameca from "The Aztecs", Rill from "Galaxy 4" (ok, that would have been awkward, but they were great charcters nonetheless), Jessica Willamy from "Wonderland", Rogin from "The Ark in Space", Laurence Scarman from "Pyramids of Mars", Professor Watson from "The Hand of Fear", Henry Gordon Jago and George Litefoot from "The Talons of Weng-Chiang, Professor Amelia Rumford from "The Stones of Blood", Lynda from "Bad Wolf", Reinette from "The Girl in the Fireplace", Tim Latimer from "Human Nature".
Best Villians - The Cybermen (only in "The Tenth Planet"), Davros, Nyder, Sutekh, the Android Doctor (he disturbed me), the Weeping Angels.
Best Stories -
(First Doctor) Time and Relative, An Unearthly Child, The Edge of Destruction, The Aztecs, The Reign of Terror, Campaign, The Witch Hunters, The Time Travellers, Venusian Lullaby, Byzantium!, The Romans, Frostfire, The Massacre of St Bartholemew's Eve, Salvation, The Tenth Planet,
(Second Doctor) The Power of the Daleks, Wonderland, Evil of the Daleks, Tomb of the Cybermen (only for the Two/Victoria bonding? Yes, yes I think so . . .), The Enemy of the World, The Dark Path, The Mind Robber, The Indestructible Man, The War Games
(Third Doctor) The Silurians,
(Fourth Doctor) Every story I've seen/read so far except The Power of Kroll,
(Ninth Doctor) The End of the World, Father's Day, Bad Wolf/The Parting of the Ways,
(Tenth Doctor), School Reunion, The Girl in the Fireplace, Fear Her (am I the only one who really like that story?), Gridlock, Daleks in Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks (again, am I the only one?), Human Nature/The Family of Blood, the almighty "Don't turn your back, don't look away and don't BLINK!", Master Trilogy, Planet of the Ood, Turn Left.
Best Logo - The Third/Fourth Doctors' diamond
Best Spoof - The Dead Ringers crew (yay Jon Culshaw!)
Best Trademark - One word - SCARF!!
