Author has written 20 stories for Prison Break, Lost, Mighty Ducks, and Butterfly Effect. Where to start, where to start ... How about with the most important part? The fandoms. After all, if the fic's good, what does it really matter who wrote it ... Work doesn't allow for me to write - fiction at least - half as often as I'd like to, but it's still the best form of escapism and something I'll probably always find at least some time for. I'm totally open to any and all criticism - reviews are a great bonus to an already great hobby and I really appreciate them all. I can't stress this enough - I won't react badly to criticism, I know I could probably benefit from it. Thank you to anyone who has reviewed - I'll try to return the favour. :) THE FICS NEW My current big project generally is actually over at fictionpress.net - thought I'd put the word out here since it's very difficult to generate much response over there! It's literally just getting off the ground so I don't want to give much away about the plot, but I'm quite excited by it - it's probably going to be darker than my usual stuff. So take a peek at monday monday ... @ http://www.fictionpress.com/s/2662561/1/monday_monday My big current project here is The Lifeline Collection in the Mighty Ducks fandom. The Lifeline Collection - actually started with the now complete fic Road Trippin', but there is also a prequel Crossing Paths which comes earlier in the timeline, if you know what I mean. The main story arc flowed through Road Trippin, while Crossing Paths is an also complete way of filling in the backstories of the characters. Then there are also, so far, two companion pieces - the Christmas special 'Tis The Season and the Valentine's Day special U Got Mail. Both of those are probably a lot fluffier than the main story, but they do give more insight into some of the main characters - they're also both complete. The main story arc has now been taken up in the sequel to Road Trippin', Blood Ties. The series features most of the Mighty Ducks cast but has also introduced a few others with varying degrees of regularity ... Caitlin Rivers - a young journalist for a major television news network and the first person to interview NHL newcomers Fulton Reed and Dean Portman, before falling in love with Fulton and embarking upon a relationship with him. They got engaged and also had a daughter together - Madison, or more often Maddie. Tragically, Caitlin passed away after being knocked down by a hit-and-run driver. Some of her colleagues also feature - Dan Mathers, editor-in-chief of Chicago 24; his deputy, Rob Allen; now deceased news anchor, Lucia Mendes; sports editor, JJ Perry; news reporter, Andie Ford; and weather girl, Eva de la Cruz. Then we've also got some of Fulton and Dean's Chicago Destroyers teammates - Calvin Jones and his wife Lara Jones; and Ben Mulvey and his finacee Rachel Ronson. And there are also a few family members popping up - so far Fulton's mom, Nora Reed, and Maria Kincaid, Caitlin's remarried mom. We've also got Caitlin's ex-boyfriend and hot-shot lawyer, Brett Ducaine; and Dean's ex-girlfriend, Brooke Delaney - she and Dean have a young son, Dylan. So what's next for The Lifeline Collection? Next up: How will Fulton cope with the loss of his beloved girlfriend and the mother of his newborn daughter? Can his friends get him through the pain and the obstacles that lie in his way? THE FANDOMS I'm into a few fandoms but I won't write for characters I don't feel I can do justice to - no matter how much I want to. I'm a bit of a perfectionist like that, though I'm far from perfect. So here goes: Prison Break: I love this show - for something so seemingly action orientated, it makes you think and is surprisingly arty in the way it's shot. Plus, the writing makes you really involved and you come to care about what happens to the characters - no mean feat when you're talking about a rag-tag bunch of America's Most (or Least, depending on your point of view) Wanted. I'm a Michael/Sara shipper but I don't think that's the be all and end all of the show. Also liking Sucre/Maricruz. Love Teddy - know I shouldn't, but Rob Knepper never fails to amaze me. Ditto Peter Stormare as Abruzzi - damn, I wish he was still in the show. Lost: Love it, but find it very hard to write for - I think it's the whole never being sure of what's happening or why. My favourite character was Charlie - I'm a Dom Monaghan fan and I loved the complexities of his character. I guess it's Sawyer now Charlie's gone. I love the conspiracies surrounding the show and the lengths the creators have gone to with external sources of added mystery - websites for Driveshaft, the Dharma Initiative, Oceanic Airlines, the book "Bad Twin" (which I haven't actually read. Yet.) I'm a Charlie/Claire fan and sorry, Jack - you're a good guy, but Kate belongs with Sawyer. Buffy/Angel: The shows might be over, but the fandoms live on. I'm not adverse to some good ole Buffy/Angel angst but, at the end of the day, she belongs with Spike. I do like Angel/Cordy, but I'm torn ... In a perfect world, Doyle lives and gets the girl. Doyle was, is and will always be my favourite character - I miss Glenn. I hated what they did with Cordy, Connor and the whole uber-evilness. I hated Riley and the Initiative. I actually liked both endings - okay, Angel was cut short, but I think it was perfect that they went out fighting. For fanfic purposes, maybe they did survive ... Apart from it ending one of my favourite shows, I strangely like to think they did die doing what they did best. They slayed the dragon first though. I'm praying for Joss to give Ripper the green light. Books: I'm also, as I mentioned, a big reader - I'll read pretty much anything but writing fics on books is something I haven't really gone into. Not sure why, but maybe it's because the best books are hard to emulate whereas you can try second guessing an ongoing tv show. But I am a big fan of writers like Stephen King, Jasper Fforde, Maggie Furey and too many more to name - I'd love to have even half their talent. Movies: It's rarer that I'll write for a movie - I'd have to be a big fan of the movie to feel I knew the characters well enough but, when that happens, the scriptwriter usually has it so nailed that I don't really feel comfortable messing with it. That said, I'm on a nostalgia kick at the moment and, being a bit of an ice hockey fan (as much as you can be as a Brit without the advantage of a really kick-ass local team to support), I always loved the Mighty Ducks films as a kid. No, I won't grow up, thank you. ;) It also makes it easier to write for since you have the scope of moving on characters who were originally kids. Yes, I am a big kid myself - wouldn't have it any other way. Okay, I suppose I should say something about me ... ME I'm a disorganised, procrastinating, daydreamer who'd love to make fiction writing a career rather than a hobby - probably wishful thinking. But like I said, daydreamer. I go fan-girl over: Amaury Nolasco, Aaron Lohr, Elden Henson, Johnny Depp, Dominic Monaghan, Kings of Leon, The Fray, Kasabian, Less than Jake, Hinder, Nickleback, Snow Patrol, Daughtry, Prison Break, Lost, CSI, Eastenders, Buffy and Angel reruns, stand-up comedy, Jeff Dunham, Michael McIntyre, Rhod Gilbert, Dara O'Brien, Stephen King books, Jasper Fforde books, Maggie Furey books, rainbows, sunshine, thunderstorms, days off work, hanging with my friends, the buzz of a good day at work, driving, forests, the beach, reminiscing with my mum and dad, laughing with my bro, watching football/rugby/ice hockey, writing, reading, log fires, snow, shoes, smoothies, Mexican food ... I go psycho (and not in a good way) over: bad days at work, reality tv, rubbish cover versions of great songs, most film versions of great books (Captain Corelli's Mandolin - a prime example. LOTR - a rare exception to the rule.), Z-list celebrities, rainy days when I'm caught outside, having to get up early, not having enough time to write, seafood, arrogant people ...
