Author has written 9 stories for Dragonlance, Death Note, and Hellsing. Hello. I go by the name of Fly, and that's pretty much all you need to know. My favorite animes include Death Note, Serial Experiments Lain, and Hellsing. Regarding video games, I'm a crazed addict of The World Ends With You and a longtime Pokemon player, but I have few other loyalties, though I am constantly glued to my DS. I am an avid reader, and I devour books like popcorn. If there's a good book out there, either I've read it, or you had better give me the title, because I'm starved for literature. The Soul Thief was one of my recent reads at camp--it was pretty good, I thought. Angela's Ashes, rec'd by my teacher, is also turning out well, even if it depressing. Yay. I like to draw, read, write, play the flute, and do math problems, particularly calculus. The number seventeen is amazing. I miss math classes. I'll readily engage you in a debate over which number is the bestest, seriously. Some numbers just rub me the wrong way--6, for example, is excrutiatingly boring. Ugh. So yeah. Update, Sept. 06th, 12:56 a.m. School's back in session now, and I've got AP US (eeps!) plus I'm trying to audition for All-Shore Band in October, so I won't be around as much. Nevertheless, I _have_ managed to pull together the latest chapter of Binary, which is good. Eh. Life here is...okay. Not much makes sense, but it never does; if it did, life would be boring! I do miss my numbers, though. No math until next semester = fail. Royal, exquisite fail. So YEAH. Oh, and I'm now a bigger TWEWY addict than before: I'm addicted to the OST. Yay, me. Good night! Go home! Nobody loves you--except for John Good! Current fanfictions: I don't have many fanfictions to my name, but here they are: Binary Helix: In-progress. Fun in the present tense, during the timeskip. Matt is living a bit of an empty life in Vegas, but it's his, and he likes the preservation of his sanity. Despite his attempts to stay away, though, a certain tangle of events keeps drawing him back into L's world--a world that he was previously deemed unsuitable for. Near needs his help; Mello does, too, but Matt just wants to be left alone. An exploration of Matt, because it's tiring to be defined in terms of others. Expect an easy pace and flowery words to begin with, but don't be fooled; I've got some fun things planned for this little baby. This is my attempt at literacy. Primes: Complete. In which Mello's arrival at Wammy House provides us with a glimpse at a distinctively brutal culture. Darwin's laws are the only ones which apply for these orphaned geniuses, and Mello and Matt's newfound friendship is strained by the deceptive twists of a murder investigation. Fast-paced and quite dark. This was my first fanfiction, and it was definitely a learning experience. I'm happy to say that I managed to finish something. Spoilers, due mainly to my thoughtlessness. The Atheist's Comedy: Complete; One-shot. A poetic take on prose, and an examination of the ironies of religion and atheism. This is still a favorite of mine. Matt and Mello at their lowest points. Spoilers for the ending. And that's about it. The others don't really deserve mention. My C2 Community: I've started a C2 called "Extraordinary Death Note Fanfiction." The link is here. It's presumptuously named, true, but I wanted to mimic a Hellsing C2 by a similar name. XP My goal is to collect well-written fanfictions so as to make finding a random good read is an easier task. It's by no means a complete archive--in fact, I've barely started. Any suggestions at all are appreciated; send me a PM with a link, and I'll consider it. I want to see if I can grow this. :) I think there's better uses for the C2 concept than just plain pairing groups, neh? (No offense meant, of course!) Reading tastes: Regarding fanfictions, I enjoy long, multichaptered fics featuring extensive plots. Drama is a favorite of mine; I love watching characters and their evolution, and an author with a firm grasp of emotion is a winner in my book. I don't mind shounen-ai/yaoi, particularly as anime tends to lack decent female charries in general, but I expect romance to be tasteful, believable, etc, and it's always disappointing to see fic spiral into a lemon-marathon. Mikanis is one author whose work I consistently enjoy. I'm currently reading Death Note fanfics exclusively, when I do read fanfictions--writing Primes has taken up most of my time of late. I'm pretty open as far as characters, pairings, genres, or topics are concerned, and the only thing I shy away from is bad grammar. So, yeah. That's about it. PM me if you ever need to get in touch...though I can't see why you would... ~Fly | |||||||||
