Author has written 19 stories for Pirates of the Caribbean, Avatar: Last Airbender, Harry Potter, Secret Window, and Catcher in the Rye. 'Writing is hard. Writing is hard for everyone. We all get stuck. Every short story and novel presents its own unique set of challenges, and a writer encounters them for the first time with every new project ... ... There is so much contradictory advice among authors. All we can really do is look at techniques that have worked for others, and choose techniques that work for us. And write. Write every day. Write with all you've got, using every resource at your disposal. I believe that inspiration can be found anywhere - in dreams, highway billboards, newspaper personal ads, the Yellow Pages, restaurant menues, family photo albums, and bizarre morning TV talk shows. There's always something to write about. Or, as Fyodor Dostoevsky put it, "There is no subject so old that something new cannot be said about it." Whatever happens, just write. Don't second-guess your abilities, don't underestimate your imagination, and don't make excuses ... Perseverance is the name of the game - if you're willing to put in the hours that the craft of writing demands, then you're bound to experience many of its greatest rewards.' Modified essay from: Rekulak, Jason. The Writer's Block. Philadelphia: Running Press, 2001. I could babble on for a few thousand words, but all in all, there's really not much to say about me. I like to write, and that's… pretty much it. If you decide to read any of the stories listed below, I hope you enjoy them. Keep in mind that the older they are, the worse they'll seem. I like to think that I've grown as a writer during my time on this site, and thus, I've decided to keep all of my stories up as I wrote them originally so that I and others can see where I started out and where I am today. It's one of those weird pride/shame things. Err, so I'm really not into the Pirates of the Caribbean fandom anymore. I really, truly wish I was, and maybe someday I'll rediscover it and come back with enough JackOC stories to make my head explode, but for now... my heart is elsewhere (specifically, it's at iSparrow, my other ffdn account that is more active and filled with stories about bizarre Japanese cartoons that revolve around children's card games). I love all of my readers and reviewers, I truly do, and thank them tremendously for all they've helped me with. Maybe you'll see more of my work in the future as RumQueen, and maybe not. You never can tell. But I'll be keeping my fingers crossed. I regularly bug the world with my Gaia, LiveJournal, Plurk, and deviantART; I also occasionally hang out at the Fireplace Alliance (though more often than not you'll find me there on iSparrow) - drop in to say hello if you ever get curious. If you want to talk, judge my work, or whatever else, feel free to holler at me via a PM, or follow me to my little corner on any of those wonderful Internet hangouts (especially my LiveJournal, since I'm on that site all the freaking time). If you're not unecessarily rude/a troll, I always reply in kind. I guess that's it. I used to have neat things and laughable cut-and-pastes to post on this bio, but I started feeling like I was wasting a fair amount of my time on something that not many people care about, so I guess I eventually figured it wasn't worth the effort. And with that, I will cease my yapping about insignificant dribble and leave you to your own devices. | |||||||||||
