I read more than I write - or, should I say, more than I feel confident enough to post to the web. I find influence everywhere; in passing glances, stolen sentences and every day interaction I happen to notice. I write based on feelings, and remain captivated by emotions. I go through phases. Right now I'm stuck on family situations. Moreso, 'foster' family, such as Harry Potter/Sirius Black or Harry Potter/Severus Snape style mentor fiction, or older male role models in general. I love father figures, and above all, awkward situations.

Yes, I do read slash or 'yaoi' stories, as well as 'yuri', or girl/girl. Not for smut, though. I cringe every time I see an upcoming sex scene, and can't imagine myself ever writing one. I also read hetero stories. Good writing is good writing, regardless. I do have particular pairings I enjoy, though. As follows...

In the Kingdom Hearts fandom; Sora/Riku (above all else), Axel/Roxas, Demyx/Zexion, Cloud/Leon, Kairi/Namine.
In the Harry Potter fandom; Harry/Draco, Remus/Sirius, Lily/James, Severus/Remus, Hermione/Ron, Hermione/Luna.
In the Charmed fandom; Piper/Leo, Pheobe/Cole.
In the OC fandom; Seth/Summer.
In the National Treasure fandom; Riley/Ben (friendship!).
In the House M.D fandom; Cameron/Chase, House/Wilson (friendship!).

Other kinds of stories I enjoy are Sick!fics, abused!fics, any kind of angst in general, older male mentor roles, adoption/foster home stories, bizarre stories, drug fiction, de-aged fics, and well-written plots. It doesn't matter how good a storyline is, if the writing is horrible I refuse to read it.

Stories I avoid like the plague include powerful!Harry, vengeful!Harry, dark!Harry, cutting (mainly because I've yet to find a well-written, believable story involving the subject - the characters are almost always terribly OOC), mary-sues, sudden drug abuse for no reason (especially in the Harry Potter fandom, because really, why would the magical world be involved in the Muggle drug trade, when there are obviously potions that could do the same thing?), OOCness, blatent character bashing, smut for the sake of smut... the list goes on.

Severus Snape remains my all-time favourite fictional character, and I doubt this will change any time soon. Typical heroes are boring. I prefer mine sarcastic, warped and bitter. It makes for much more interesting character analysis, and reading. I love reading about Severus-Harry interaction, but I can't stand mushy, simpering, out-of-character Snape who suddenly turns cuddly. Just, no. This applies to any of the 'darker' characters - they are that way for a reason!

I usually post on impulse and for this, I remain a horrible updater - simply because I lose focus, and run out of inspiration for particular stories. It's a flaw I'm trying to fix, but will most likely fail.
