Author has written 6 stories for Avatar: Last Airbender, and Saiyuki.

I'm aging disgracefully, and finally coming out of the fangirl closet thanks to an unhealthy obsession with Avatar: the Last Airbender and Saiyuki...but I've lurked in a bunch of other fandoms over the decades including Vampire Hunter D, Robin of Sherwood, and Due South. Het or slash, kink or vanilla, fluff or angst, canon or AU, it's all good by me as long as it's well-written. I'm also not into ship wars -- while there are certain ships that I have a particular weakness for, I'll read ANY pairing that can be presented well, even if it's not one I could ever write myself.

COMPLETED:

No Lullabye: An unusually short piece, by my usual prolix standards, written for the "First Times" prompt in the Saiyuki_Time LJ community. This will probably eventually end up, in some revised form, as the opening scene of a longer gen piece about Gojyo's early life, those lost years between Jien walking away and first meeting Banri; but I don't plan on writing that longer piece anytime soon and this little scene came to me independently of that fic plotting, so it works for now as a free-standing piece. Quiet, dark, and sad; no sex, violence, or bad language directly on screen, but I'm rating this around a T/PG-13 for indirect references to off-screen violence and child abuse. The central image was inspired by W.B. Yeats' He Wishes His Beloved Were Dead.

Undertow: This is a considerably revised, combined version of a piece originally written as two separate parts for the wonderful Anonymous Saiyuki Kink Meme on LiveJournal. The original prompt was Hakkai/Gojyo, the kink is hair-fetish + angst = lots of sex (+ hopeful happy ending?).I couldn't quite manage to make my ideas fit all the specifics of the original request, but that basic core is still there. Hakkai-POV angsty angsty angsty 585, post-Journey setting; contains some potential mildly spoilery references to material from the Be There and Chin Yisou arcs. Rated M for mature content including indirect references to underage prostitution, sexual themes including two rather mild lemon scenes, and Gojyo's usual dirty mouth. A shiny virtual cookie to alert readers who recognize what Hakkai is reading in the opening scene!

The Lost and Found: My first Saiyuki fic -- I had no intention of writing in this fandom, but the kappa had other plans! Gojyo/Hakkai, kappa angst, set at some point shortly after the Kami-sama arc. Genfic, although if you want to squint at it with the right set of shippy goggles there may be hints of a still-deep-in-denial 585 lurking around the edges -- but ultimately this piece is all about philos, not eros, so even the slash-averse should find nothing objectionable here. Title shamelessly cribbed from the Oysterband song of the same name. Indirect references to sex, violence, and child abuse, but nothing un-worksafe takes place directly on-camera; Gojyo does swear an awful lot, though, so if you're not fond of profanity do consider yourself warned.

Dirty Laundry: A shamelessly silly piece of cracktastic fluff, set in the same modern-day AUverse as Loveroftheflame's Harula / Zutara drabble series "Striking A Balance". Azia is offstage, Haru is charmingly oblivious as usual, and poor Soo is continually mortified by the nonsense set in motion by a rather interesting pair of trousers. Written as a standalone so familiarity with the original series is helpful but not required; takes place after the chapter titled "Kink" in the main continuity. No violence or on-camera sex, some mild bad language, one scene of implied sexual activity and absolute BUSHELS of blatantly cheesy sexual innuendo from beginning to end. NOW WITH SHINY FANART by Drygon, MaMoNoShoJo, and Kartos!

Sleepless: A rather pointless little ficlet, mostly done as a small, focused, COMPLETEABLE writing exercise to distract me from a bigger project that I was tearing my hair out over. Not an awful lot happens here, other than a lot of awkward talk between Bitchy!PMS!Insomniac!Katara and Cranky!Zuko, eventually leading to an uncomfortable sort of rapprochement between two characters who still haven't overcome their past history enough to be friends. It could be read as the first fumbling steps towards a rather conflicted sort of Zutara, if that's the sort of thing you like -- or if you're really, really allergic to Zutara, it could just as easily be read as two totally unromantic allies growing slightly less uncomfortable with each other. No sex, no violence, no adventure, just lots of talk: there is a teensy hint of bad language, and some rather oblique references to embarassing bodily functions.

Interior: Or, "Ling-Ling ate my brain and all I got was this dark little story". No, really -- after reading ardy1's "Prison Conversations" series in one sitting, I couldn't get her fabulous original character out of my head...and she was gracious enough to let me borrow the girl to work this piece up. The boys spend a lot of time trying to figure the prison warden's daughter and her games out, but it's made clear they don't quite get her -- well, much like them, I found myself trying to understand why she was playing these dangerous games with them, and how she started down this path. This claustrophobic little piece is one of the end results; it came kicking and screaming until I figured out that some of the other ideas that didn't seem to fit would best be carved off into a separate story. (That one is going to involve some of the scenes with the prisoners that ardy1 coyly left, ah, off-camera in her original story, and that I've only hinted at here as well; suffice it to say the spinoff piece will be considerably less coy.) Once again not a lot of actual direct action, as this is nothing but layers of memories in the space of time it takes to get ready to go to bed -- and while there's no sex or violence directly on-stage, as it were, one rather ugly execution and two sexual relationships, one with a rather large age difference and both with slightly dubious consent, are referred to more or less indirectly. My betas tell me that even if you haven't read PC, it's possible to read through this and figure out what's going on, so if you haven't already run screaming at the thought of an OFC, do give it a chance. (But I'd still suggest reading PC anyway, because it is a WONDERFUL series and ardy1's stuff is always enjoyable.)

1. No Lullabye reviews
Gojyo-centric sad genfic; some firsts are endings, not beginnings. A glimpse at one of the darkest moments in the kappa's childhood, written for the "First Times" prompt in the Saiyuki Time LiveJournal community.

Hakkai x Gojyo, post Journey romantic angst. The things that are the closest to you can be the hardest to see clearly. When guilt and shame are holding you back, sometimes you have to burn your bridges in order to move ahead.

Gojyo has a bad night, sometime after the Kamisama arc. Sometimes the worst dreams aren't about the big things, sometimes the deepest scars are the ones that can't be seen. Gen, with possible hints of still in denial 585 if you squint at it just right.

Standalone comic fluff, set in the same modern AU setting as Loveroftheflame's series Striking A Balance. Implied HaruAzula, lots of unrequited HaruSuki: wherein Haru is oblivious, Soo is mortified, and there is much ado about some interesting trousers...

A cranky latenight conversation that leads to an uneasy rapprochement. Not really overtly shippy, but can be read as the first faltering steps towards a rather conflicted Zutara, if you like that sort of thing.

An introspective piece, focused on filling in some background for an OC borrowed from Ardy1's wonderful Prison Conversations series. If you've read PC, you know who this girl is and which canon characters are involved...if not, read on and be surprised.
