Author has written 33 stories for Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Lord of the Rings. "Falling is easy; it's getting up that's the hard part." (Fat Albert) Challenges: The SOTE AU Challenge You read right. It's a Shadows of the Empire Alternate Universe challenge! You have to have read SOTE to write a response to this. In this story, Vader succeeds in capturing Luke. Time Frame: Apparently, this must take place during Shadows of the Empire. Vader must catch Luke during one of the times listed below: 1. When Luke gets captured by bounty hunters and taken to Kothlis. 2. When Luke, Lando and the droids are escaping from Vader in the astroid field right after Kothlis. 3. Sometime during the group's adventures on Coruscaunt. (In the underground, in Xizor's palace, etc...) 4. Or at the end of the book right after Xizor gets killed. Type: Unlike the sith challenge, I will not allow you to turn Luke to the dark side. I want to be able to enjoy this story and see good overcome evil. You can make this as long/short as you want, just make sure you don't kill off anyone other than the badguys. By the way, Vader can be counted as a badguy if you want to kill him at the end or something. Notes: As always, there CANNOT be anyone out of character. Don't make Vader more evil or more nice. Just write him the way we see him in the original trilogy. Luke CANNOT be a whimp or a suck-up. I hate it when that happens. Challenge Responses: 1 The Sith Challenge Luke gets turned to the Dark Side by someone other than the Emperor or Darth Vader, and now Vader wants get his son, but his son's loyalties are to his other master. Time Frame: Luke can be anywhere from fifteen years old to seventeen when this takes place. Apparently, before ANH. Type: I'm gonna be nice, and not give you guys a limit to whether Luke stays on the Dark Side or not. You can do whatever you want with this one. Notes: I don't want anyone out of character. By this, I mean, I don't want Luke to be some pathetic little whimp, and Vader has to be regular old Vader that we see in the movies. Don't make him more evil, or more good. The Luke Enchanted Challenge Luke is enchanted by (insert reason for being enchanted) and now he is induced to do whatever he’s told. Then Vader finds out about this and decides to use this to his advantage. Time Frame: This can happen anywhere between ANH to ESB. Type: You CANNOT turn Luke to the Dark Side. He can come close to doing so, but this is supposed to be a Vader redemption fic. (Of course it’ll be interesting to see how Vader can come back to the good side when it’s Luke who is forced to do whatever he’s asked! (chuckles evilly) Also, I do NOT want Luke to be out of character. I've read fan fictions where Luke is a complete suck up and I don't want that in these stories. Luke CANNOT be a whimp.
