To whom it may concern:

If Ohba and Obata have specifically made it clear that their character's name is spelled as Light, not Raito, why do you insist on misspelling his name? Not all words are spelled the way they're pronounced, particularly when said with a Japanese accent. The Japanese don't do it on purpose, but you do and you should know better.

No, it's not an elitist attitude. When someone misspells your name, you correct them, don't you?

"It's Mikael, with a K, not CH."

"It's Cristie with an IE, not a Y."

"Schwartzeneger or Schwarzenegger?"

"It's Britney, not Brittany."

"Gerome, not Jerome."

"Elliot, with two Ls."

I understand if you haven't read the correct translation, seen the movies, seen the anime, or heard of Ohba and Obata's statement before. I thought Light's name was either Tsuki or Hikaru at first glance. We all make mistakes, we just need to learn from them and correct them to improve.
