Boy do I suck, or what? I've finally given a (very, very, very) short update on one of my stories to attempt to kick-start myself, because I'm obviously not going to start writing again without one.

It's just been a while, you know? And plots have been beyond me for a while, which... if I wrote without being able to do plot, I'd be gutting any of my stories, even the light and fluffy TAF. I've been RPing since that hasn't involved me writing plot by myself, but I've finally gotten to where I can come up with it on the game, so why not go back to my fanfics?

I recently moved again, this time back to my home state of CA, and it's been discovered that I am in fact disabled with Lupus and severe multiple chemical sensitivities. Meaning, the neighbors do laundry and we have to shut our doors and windows and turn the A/C units off, or the three of us in this house with that issue are going to be extremely messed up.

I tried working three days, part-time, as a merchandiser... I was hosed for three weeks and allergic to my own car for two months. So much for that.

Those who are interested in the gritty details of my somewhat day-to-day life should just friend me on livejournal, though. :3 I don't bite unless I have a good reason, I promise!

It's been a while, anyone still watching?

I keep planning to come back 'soon', soon, soon, and it keeps not happening. Apologies to anyone still waiting. I'm still not dropping my various stories despite the best efforts of my ex, it's just taking me a long time. Regulars are probably used to this, unfortunately.

In the meanwhile I have been roleplaying on Multiverse Haven RPG as several of the same canon characters I write fanfic for, feel free to hit up the game (please do!) and interact with me and them. I'm pretty sure that would help me get back in the saddle, too, but again... I've said that before, so until I actually am posting chapters again...

In the meantime, happy Valentine's day. Those of you who are Tannusen fans might like to note that it's his fifth birthday as a character, so happy b-day Tannu!

Writing will resume once my new job / new living arrangements settle down a bit. I'll likely concentrate on Requiem the most unless I (like last time I said this) just have too many really good ideas for the other stories that insist on being written. Bloodstained Steel might finally get that desperately-needed revamp, but we'll see.

As a reminder, I will be copying reviews and posting replies to them on my website, AroWrites.Net. Updates to fan-fiction can be easily found on the AroFic LJ comm, for those of you on LiveJournal. I may start posting other kinds of updates (like this one here, and updates to the AWN site as seen on its main page) on there as well, but haven't decided yet if I should. Feel free to give me feedback on that, please!

A STaGW reader going by the alias Kodak Moment asked me to update my profile, since I haven’t updated any fics lately, to tell you guys what’s going on. I think that’s fair, even if it took me a while to actually -do- so, so here we have it.

Life’s been crazy, kids. Lots of dramatic stuff went down that I don’t particularly want to talk about, but the end result was that AWN went down and the main person I used to bounce fic ideas off of and I no longer speak. And won’t be speaking to one another ever again, despite a decade of friendship before that.

Yep, -that- messy. They hosted AWN, so that’s when that went down... I ended up posting the chapters to things I’d had mostly written up before then, and haven’t written a whole lot of fic since.

Do I plan to go back to it? Absolutely.

How? Well, I’m going to be moving in with another good friend of mine this spring; one who is quite used to my ramblings and rantings about fic in person, and will thus weather it well. She’s easy to ramble at, tends to read my stuff as well, and we think much along the same lines on things with just enough difference to make it interesting.

So I’m pretty sure that once I’m around her again, I’ll be back to writing fic as time permits. Right now, I’m sort of burned out on the whole thing and have been sticking to roleplaying for my outlet. AWN is partially-rebuilt on my computer, awaiting a full rebuild and a new host. I even have a few rent-hosts in mind already.

What, rebuild? Yes, I have to rebuild the whole thing. I have the data, but no way to unlock it from all that complicated code that was designed to make updating easy... and fixing impossible, to someone who isn’t a programmer. That being me. So it’s being rebuilt from the ground up in harder-to-update but in the long-run nicer-to-Aro stuff. All the fanart is going to be up, and all the reviews -- although I’m not sure how I’ll manage to do review replies, still.

I might not manage to do that for the sake of not sifting through html for hours and hours whenever I upload a chapter. It sucks, but them’s the breaks now that ffnet doesn’t allow replies in the chapter... if anyone has any suggestions, I’m all ears. I prefer to have review replies somewhere accessible, rather than using the ffnet system for them. Especially as a lot of my reviewers don’t log in and/or have accounts, and their system only lets me reply in private (blech) to “signed” reviews... it just doesn’t feel quite fair -or- open.

So that’s that. (snerks) This reads more like a livejournal entry than a profile update, but I do tend to ramble. Hope that answered any questions floating around out there, because I really do appreciate you guys for reading and reviewing my stuff, and I don’t like to leave you hanging.

It's anything from G to NC-17 at any given point, so everyone should be able to RP something they like without worrying too much... and I'm there, with many of the same canon characters I write here. :3
