HELLO :)

A quote that makes me happy: "You must live every moment of your life in such a way that if you had to live it over and over again til infinity, this would be a good thing." -A summary of Nietzsche's Theory of Eternal Recurrence, taken from 'Born Confused' by Tanuja Desai Hidier.

Doesn't that just make you smile? That Nietzsche guy was doing good, the day he figured that one out. I think it's a pretty good motto to live life by.

Well, I finally admitted to myself that after about 2 years of the same profile, it was time for a change. So here I am.

Ahh...yes.

Funny thing is, I don't have much to say. Love books? Check. Read anything? Check. Scream/cry/laugh inappropriately whilst reading (both books and fanfiction)? Check check check.

Basic me facts? I watch way too many films, I'm Irish, my life ambition is to travel, I'm in love with Galaxy Hot Chocolate, my hair has a life of its own, I'm addicted to laughing and D (as in vitamin D, as in the sun, as in nice-weather-which-you-don't-get-enough-of-in-England), I love all music, I'm arty and I cannot cook to save my life. Except for Banoffee Pie. That's my speciality.

I'm always admiring how people manage to write these really amazingly witty and interesting profile pages that you find on sites like FF. Thing is, I just can't do that, because lets face the facts: I am sitting here, it's 2:20 AM, I'm drinking a hot chocolate and I am effectively talking to myself-slash-computer. If I tried anything funny I'd probably have a heart attack laughing at myself.

All-Time Favourite Authors? Well, every time I read a new book, I swear I've changed my mind, but these are the old reliables that never change.

Tamora Pierce
Terry Pratchett

Seriously, I cannot recommend them enough. Pratchett is a genius who's wit is unsurpassed, and Pierce is the Queen of feisty heroines.

Hmm...I think now it is time for me to type up some quotes. Most of my quotes are scrawled on notepaper and stuffed in my drawers, so this may be a colossal task, but it shall be done. By no means is this them all; I have actually filled up three folders' worth of book quotes -but if I were to list them all you'd all be snoring in about 10 seconds flat.

'Let's operate. Let's cut him open and get to the inside of things once and for all. He keeps complaining about his liver. His liver looks pretty small on this x-ray.'
'That's his pancreas, you dope. This is his liver.'
'No it isn't. That's his heart. I'll bet you a nickel this is his liver. I'm going to operate and find out. Should I wash my hands first?'
-Catch-22, Joseph Heller

'Are you going to help me?'
WELL, YES.
'When?'
ER, WHEN THE PAIN IS TOO MUCH TO BEAR. Death hesitated, and then went on. EVEN AS I SAY IT I REALIZE THAT THIS ISN'T THE ANSWER YOU WERE LOOKING FOR, HOWEVER.
-The Fifth Elephant, Terry Pratchett

(And yes, I know this one is rather long, but I couldn't resist adding it in. Makes me laugh every time!)
'Venturi,' he said, raising his glass a carefully calculated fraction of an inch.
'Selachii,' said Lord Venturi, doing the same thing.
'This is a party,' said Albert.
'Indeed. I see you are standing upright.'
'Indeed. So are you, I see.'
'Indeed. Indeed. On that subject, I notice many others are doing the same thing.'
'Which is not to say that the horizontal position does not have its merits when it comes to, for example, sleeping,' said Albert.
'Quite so. Obviously that would not be done here.'
'Oh, indeed. Indeed.'
The Selachii and Venturi made a point, on occasions like this, to talk only about things on which there was no possibility of disagreement. Given the history of the two families, this had become a very small number of things.
-Night Watch, Terry Pratchett

Right, well, I think that about wraps it up.

Feel free to get in touch if you want opinions, thoughts, constructive criticisms, or even just to have a talk :)
