Now proceeding with mindless complaining. Please do not read if you intend to scold me for my opinions or hold them against me in a later phase.
I dislike a lot of things. I hate very few things. And still, on this website I manage to constantly get overwhelmed by waves of hatred. Allow me to share with you why:
1. Poor self esteem. You - you know I'm talking about you - apparently suck at writing summaries. As a reader, do you think I'm going to like your story better if you excuse yourself in that incredibly ridiculous and unnecessary manner? No! Because do you know what I will think about the stories to which people - authors - write "sry, suck at summaries, plz read"? I will think that your story is as crappy as your fcking excuse, that's what I'll think! And I won't read your story! I won't even consider it! And I might be missing out on a good - decent - story (because good authors don't write that kind of bullshit) and that makes me angry! Another thing that makes me angry is that you won't even try! You apologize before even giving it some effort! That pisses me off immensely!
2. The "please sympathize with me"-kind of attitude. Okay. You've written your first fanfiction. That is truly great for you, I'm so happy for your sake, until-
...Until you go and put it on your summary right after "I suck at summaries"! "First fic, plz read!"? Don't joke around! Reading that will either have me expect an amateurish fanfick loaded with crap or a plotless, boring creation. Are you trying to kill me here? Are you? Because every other displayed fan fiction, especially under the Naruto category, is like that. And it makes me so sad, so unbelievably sad on your behalf. If you're not confident that you can write a story that someone might enjoy without your excuses then you should just not post it at all. This is the only time I will prefer the fictions that are actually horrible in most aspects over the ones that might be good but unfortunately, ruined by the author's lack of self-respect.
I'm done for now. Please think about what's written above. This is my screwed up way of telling you to be more confident in yourselves and I'm not saying it again, so treasure it.
