Author has written 4 stories for Lord of the Rings. The road goes ever onward. I read Tolkien in the unauthorized (shipped from England without tax) Ballantine editions (you guys did know that LOTR is public domain in the US?) back in the late sixties. I didn't LIVE the sixties - I was a kid at Enloe High in Raleigh - but that was when my cousin Charlie turned me on to the trilogy and I've been reading it every year or three ever since. Well over twenty times, anyway. Meantime I became a papermaker, letterpress printer, bookseller, and finally a teacher. These poems so far are short line attempts at echoing Old English rythyms in contemporary language - while remembering (and hopefully evoking for you) the best character bits from the trilogy. I write performance poems and essays - but this stuff is the most fun! Thank you, noldo wise! | |||||||||||
