Author has written 15 stories for Batman, Batman the Animated Series, Gormenghast, and Defenders of the Earth. I don't have a whole lot to say for myself really. I've only recently been getting back into the swing of things as far as fanfiction goes after a break of a few years - and I'm sure it really shows. I have a passing interest in several fandoms: DC comics, ST: TNG, BSG, Doctor Who, Six Feet Under and many more. Although whether or not I'll write a fic for the less geeky stuff remains to be seen, despite the few niggles I had with The Wire and Six Feet Under I still think they're both nearly impossible to improve upon them as I was quite content with the way they both turned out. Currently my main fandom for fanfic is currently DC Comics, or more specifically Batman. Generally I ship Harley/Ivy and Bruce/Selina, I did like Harley/Joker back in the days of the DCAU cartoon and in other media outside of the comics but it's kind of passed me by these days. At best I find the ship repetitive and stale, and at worst pointless and a wee bit insulting. But that's more to do with the direction that DC have taken Joker's character than the ship itself. When I'm writing for the Batman I do try to reference canon more often than not and fanwank the leaps in logic. I also keep DCU and DCAU seperate. As good as the cartoon was, it's been dead for years. With ST:TNG it's a different story. I used to be a huge fan back in the day - it was my first real official fandom as a matter of fact. But since revisiting it lately, I'm of the opinion that it hasn't aged very well in terms of plot and general character development. I feel that the writers squandered a hell of a lot of opportunities with the secondary characters and played things far too safe. As far as my TNG fic goes I'll tend to skirt outside of canon a lot and as far as I'm concerned the movies never happened on account of being bloody awful. All Good Things ended the run. I was a major R/T fan back in the day, but that's waned a great deal upon revisitation, and I can't for the life of me see how the two characters got together in the first place given Riker's ambition and manslutish ways. But then most ST romances - and Voy springs to mind here - weren't that great. If I do visit R/T in one of my fics it probably won't end happily. Update: 8/2/09 - I've also started a new Harleen Quinzel community over at LiveJournal for fans of the character who are enjoying the recent character development she has been receiving in DCU of late at the hands of her co-creator, Paul Dini. Yet another update: 22/6/11 - Might be getting the bug to write something again. Recently, I've discovered Glee and it's become a total gulity pleasure of mine.
