Education... has produced a vast poplulation able to read but unable to distinguish what is worth reading. - G.M. Trevelyan
Puritanism: the haunting fear that someone, somewhere, may be happy. - H.L. Mencken
Recommending Reading: Daughter of the River by Hong Ying -- Actually any title by Hong Ying but start with Daughter of the River because it is autobiographical.
What can I say about myself without totally giving myself away? I enjoy writing, rarely watch TV but read voraciously when I'm not writing. My favorite TV show right now is CSI:NY which should come as no surprise. When I'm hooked on a show I totally immerse in it and my recent favorites have been Sex and The City and Everybody Loves Raymond. However the more telling part about me would be the books that I read. My favorite novel of all times is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen and if you haven't read it yet, you must because it would put any fan fiction about any pairing to shame. My other favorite novels include The chosen by Chaim Potok, Animal Farm by George Orwell and To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Needless to say I will read anything by the above authors. But don't get me wrong I also enjoy the light reading as well such Mary Higgins Clark and an occasional John Grisham and the serious such as Karen Armstrong, Elaine Pagels and Jared Diamond.
My real life includes a husband who is as funny, sexy, sweet and smart as Danny Messer, 2 kids, one who can read so I have to watch the reading over my shoulder when I'm reading fan fic or writing because she's way too young for that stuff and the other one who doesn't read yet but could easily be one of the characters one day in the fan fic stories.
My other passion is my three Jack Russell Terriers, Hunter (9 years old) and 2 one year olds, Sally and Jetson.
