| Mockingbyrd's Tune |
Author has written 4 stories for Phantom of the Opera, Fairy Tales, Princess Bride, and Persuasion. The sunset was captured off the coast of North Cape during my stay on Prince Edward Island in Canada. North Cape is the northern-most point of the crescent-shaped island. PEI was the birthplace of Lucy Maud Montgomery, and its beauty inspired her. About me Here I am, just your regular, everyday, hording-up-all-the-blank-paper writer. I'm glad you've found me! My penname describes how I feel about my craft. Like a mockingbird, I emulate what I've grown to know and understand; and respond in my own unique tune. Music is one of my passions. You will find it spring up in every one of my pieces. Reading fics and writing them is cathartic to me. I love to review, but won't do so when it goes against my moral code of conduct below. I'm a Christian, a student of the Bible, and my Heavenly Father is very dear to me. Of course, I'm terribly flawed, but I don't intend to use that as an excuse to quit trying. Inconsistency in a human being is not evidence that God doesn't exist, it is proof that man is not God. Hypocrisy in a human being is not evidence that God has not given us a standard to live by, it is proof that man is not following God's standard. I love analyzing personalities and trying to understand other perspectives - in real life even more than 'on paper.' There's a tendency in me to be very naive. For example, I really believe writers when they say, “Please critique." Oh, and I'm a tad sarcastic; consider yourself forewarned. Favorite Author: Lucy Maud Montgomery Second Favorite Author: Mrs. Elizabeth Gaskell Third Favorite Author: Jane Austen Haunts: I love the book fics. My favorites are: Fairytales, Jane Austen, L.M. Montgomery and Phantom of the Opera. Others I’ve enjoyed are Peter Pan and Lord of the Rings. Moral Code of Conduct: I will not write foul language or take God’s name for granted in my writing, nor do I enjoy coming across it when reading. Same goes for explicit sexual content. About my posted scribblings A Lyrical Persuasion: Complete! Modernized, but for the archaic tendency of the language, ALP’s storyline attempts to stay true to the characters and events of Austen’s work. Leroux’s Phantom has been the inspiration for the POTO names and occurrences, though I have not stayed faithful at all to that account. I listened to Karl Jenkin’s Adiemus IV: The Eternal Knot to recapture the mood of the story when writing it. Daughters of the King's Forest: - on hiatus as punishment for turning into a trilogy on me The Brothers Grimm and Hans Christian Anderson tales, Greek and Norse Mythology, Germanic Legend, Celtic Lore, adventures such as Lord of the Rings, Peter Pan, Pickwick Papers, and Ivanhoe, and a host of other fiction influences have interwoven themselves into my brain and recreated this piece. It is, hopefully, a new take on familiar stories and myths that have been passed down through the centuries. For mood conditioning, I am listening to ES Posthumus: Unearthed while writing. Also, My Medea by Vienna Teng. Dragonfly Prince: My fascination with dragonflies has finally emerged into a story. 'Mesmerizing' is the only word I know to describe how this piece is playing out as I write it. There are a great many misspelled words and typos, since my characters are really talkative. I'm just trying to keep up with their dictation. Please feel free to let me know any corrections that need to be made. My music of choice for this work is Amethystium, mostly from the Emblem album. | |||||
