Status -- June 02, 2009

Sleeping Stranger - The new version is about 1/2 done. It's much different from what's currently online...I'm really embarrassed by the current work. I'm really excited about re-releasing the revamped edition, but it's going to be awhile yet given how huge this thing is turning out to be. (In the end it'll be around 150,000 words.)

While I'm Missing You - Totally scrapped the old version and am going for a different angle. Please read my announcement below if you'd like to know a bit more about it. (:

I have some new ideas, too, but these are on the back-burner for now.

Godspeed - COMPLETE (sequel to Between Heaven & Hell) Now that Inuyasha and Kagome are back on the mortal world and preparing to resume their search of Shikon shards, Kagome's spiritual powers have been acting up. When a fight between Inuyasha and Kouga gets her upset, she accidentally disappears in a puff of smoke, leaving behind no trace...so now it's Inuyasha's turn to pair up with his rival to get her back where she belongs!

Sleeping Stranger - WIP AU In a fairy tale kingdom where magic is common and demons really do exist, Kagome is the apprentice priestess of a small village called Sweetrye. When she upsets a traveling enchanter, however, she's cursed to sleep until a hero kisses her lips...a hundred years later, Inuyasha is out to rescue the woman he loves from a curse, but accidentally wakes up the wrong girl! (Based on Sleeping Beauty.)

Wanderer's Keeper, The - COMPLETE AU Based on The Buried Moon. Kagome is a priestess whose powers give birth to the moon each night, protecting earth from demons. When a cunning demon kidnaps her to suppress her powers, Inuyasha wants to rescue her for ignoble reasons.

While I'm Missing You - WIP AU When Kagome's boyfriend Inuyasha seemingly chooses his ex over her, Kagome rashly decides to erase her own memories in order to forget her pain. Years later, haunted by an emptiness she can't explain, they meet again. But was there more to Kagome's choice than simple heart ache?

I'm working on an honours degree (bachelor's of science) in computer science at the moment, which means I'm doing math homework as you read this. When I'm not working on school, I'm playing sports or video games, reading, doing other important stuff, writing, or chasing people.

Random Note -- June 02, 2009

Currently I'm re-writing While I'm Missing You (amongst other stories). The original version wasn't sure if it wanted to be a comedy or a drama and it was very rushed. The current edition is in much better condition, despite that I'm only a few chapters in, but because romance is a genre I have little experience with writing (although in Inu fandom it's my favorite to read!) I'm kind of struggling.

I would really like a few 'test readers' for this story once I get further in. I'm not necessarily looking for a beta, per se, in the sense that I want someone to edit it. What I have in mind is sending out the chapters to a handful of willing 'test readers' who would read it before I publish it here so that I could be told if the story is consistent and straight-forward. In other words, I just want some feedback! Send me a PM or an e-mail if you're interested, and I'll respond to you and once I'm done with the rough draft I'll e-mail the story to you.

I have re-uploaded the first chapter with the rough draft of the current version. It's typical of chapter length in the current rough draft. This completed story will be around 80,000 words--much longer than it was originally, but that's because more fun stuff is happening with a lot of romantic tension, drama, and other yummy things. (?)

Right now I am not looking for test readers for Sleeping Stranger, but I may at some point choose to send it out in that fashion, in which case I'd make another update here on my profile. However, I'm more confident in SS since adventure/action stories come to me more easily!
