Author has written 59 stories for Harvest Moon, Legend of Zelda, Fruits Basket, Tales of Symphonia, Twilight, Winx Club, Death Note, Rune Factory: A Fantasy Harvest Moon, and Persona Series. Welcome to my profile! Call me Scarlet. Ramblings: Soo. (cough) I lied. I'm writing again. Don't kill meh. xD I certainly intend to still do oneshots and work on old-ignored stories like Virtually Yours and Happily Ever After. Just...later on. Yeah. Later. Me: I'm just a ditzy American girl who loves writing with an unholy passion. If I am not writing, I am probably reading (Jodi Picoult is my hero), playing videogames, drawing, or belting out 70's and 80's songs. I'm addicted to soda, but even moreso I'm addicted to writing, which is probably why I'm still here. I write mostly for Harvest Moon, which I'm okay with, and my style varies from serious to sweet and silly. I'm a complete and total sucker for fluff, and I think part of the reason for that is how much I struggle with fluff myself. I don't review much anymore, and that's mostly a time thing, not a personal thing. Life is busy. I'll try and keep up with some authors and stories I've become close to, but I rarely try new stuff nowadays. Busybusybusy. But when I DO review, I'm a strong believer in the sandwich method: if you must critique, also compliment. Flaming is just silly. This is the INTERNET--you have time to formulate what you want to say before you say it! Take advantage, people, take advantage. Pointless fights can be avoided if you do. I believe in finishing my fics. I swear to finish every single one, and thus far, I've been able to relatively keep that promise. But because of that, I can't post too much at one time, so the most I'll have is two fics...plus a few oneshot collections and/or a threeshot. That's it. Oneshots are written sporatically, usually to break up the monotony by writing outside the genre my current long-fic is. I have writing balance issues... And if you have yet to notice, I talk a lot. Seriously. I need to stop blabbing away on all my review replies. Scarlet's Thoughts on Writing: I love writing far too much to care whether I should be writing more fluff, less fluff, more drama, or less drama. I know many of my plots and pairings are unusual, and I know that many readers probably grumble when they see my emotional entanglements or not-so-happy-endings or even stuff so fluffy it makes them sick. The day I write for an audience, maybe I'll listen. But for now, I write for me, and for the people who think writing for myself is good enough for them. I've recently been asked why I update weekly. Do I know this can ruin quality? Mhm. This I know well. Why do I do it? Mostly to train myself to write on a daily basis. This is fanfic: I know even the oneshots I work months on tend to make me cringe upon rereading. As for long-fics, the more I write, the more I love my story. And yes, it gives me a set goal to write eight pages or so a week, which I wouldn't otherwise do. Nothing like strangers waiting on an alert list for motivation! Plus, due to this, I've actually finished rough drafts that I never, ever would have finished otherwise. (I know myself. I'll put things off for weeks, then months, then years...but by promising myself to write by a certain day, I get 'er done.) I do consider all my stories that are long-fics on here to be rough drafts. Er, more like second drafts, because I edit, but I know in my heart they could be better. Let's face it: they ALL could be better. Co-Writing: I have two other accounts for co-writing: Age of Muffins with Neco-Arc (who, if she's reading this, really ought to update her fics XD), and WriterESK with my two fellow writers, Ekoaleko and Kuruk. I'm also joining another co-writing group, Famiglia Brio, which will be writing for Tales of Symphonia and is a group of five fantastic writers (Lilikoifish, Aemiz, Catclysmic Eclipse, and killerbunbun, plus myself). It's a lot of fun working with other people; like a tiny private writing group. I just love it. XD Writing and Updates and Stuff: My Goals: 1) Write more of First Blush. It is the one canon pairing in the world that makes me twitch. Again, I don't hate it; I just dislike it intensely. Which, er, isn't hating per se.) Tales of Symphonia/Abyss: I will go for almost anything in these categories, folks. The pairings are so interchangeable; I love it. xD Persona 4: MC x Yukiko, Yosuke x Chie, Kanji x Naoto, Rise x Teddie, Rise/Yumi/Chie/Ai/Naoto x MC. Almost anything, really. Oh, and Nanako-related family fluff! That's too cute. :D I also adore many other pairings, but these are my top few. Underlined are ones I fervently ship and adore, and italicized are my close seconds to those ships. (Funnily enough, they tend to be quite controversial pairs.) Also, I tend to love canon pairings (those in Harvest Moon and FruitsBasket in particular), but I also love it when someone can pull off something completely unusual and unexpected.
