•I live in the US, so any measurements in stories will probably be in our weirdo units unless I atttempt to convert them for the story's sake. Also, I'm not fluent in any language besides English at the moment, so all translations will be done by a handy widget on my laptop. This includes units of measurement.

And I'll take this moment to thank everyone who has subscribed to my C2. You've probably noticed by now that I tend to add a ton of fics in sporadic bursts, sometimes exclusively one kind of fic. You guys rock for sticking with my rapidly switching tastes/obsessions. 10/15/09: Currently obsessed with Transformers; unknown when I'll resume adding fics.

I go through fandoms like footwear: new socks frequently, but familiar, comfy shoes on top. Continuing this metaphor, I only have two pairs of shoes. I might get a third soon. If I'm lucky.

Shoes: Harry Potter and Death Note
Harry Potter: fan since the tender age of six. 'nuff said.
Death Note: it's the only manga I think I will ever truly love. I suggest trying the first chapter here. My favorite part about Death Note? I can just read translations online and don't have to check the books out or pay anything. I can even watch the anime online and have the options of English subs or dubs. (Dubs are preferred, but subs are more useful since I'm learning Japanese.)
Oh, you want a summary? Try this: think Boondock Saints with a supernatural murder weapon and a mysteriously brilliant detective. Subtract expletives. Add 50 to everyone important's IQ. Cross with the French Revolution. Place in modern Japan. Serve with apples.

Old Socks: Lord of the Flies, Peter Pan, Maximum Ride, Riddick, X-Men, Pirates of the Caribbean, Twilight, Smallville.

New Socks: House MD. Have finished the first season over the Thanksgiving weekend.

Current-Socks-That-May-Become-Shoes: Transformers. Once I work my way through the fandom (which is huge beyond belief!), I'll know. Have currently seen both live-action movies, the entire Transformers: Animated cartoon series (43 episodes), and G1 up through Transformers: The Movie (65 episodes + movie). I've also downloaded Transformers: Alliance/Defiance and two of the TFA: Arrival mini-comics from the iTunes store. The obsession started in early August, 2009. And I've started a crossover trilogy-quartet-thing - see next section.

About My Fics:

HP Fanfiction: I have a freakin' ton of half-finished, unedited stuff lying in a folder on my laptop. Unfortunately, they are all currently on hiatus. I get attacked by a plot bunny, I write, I get attacked by another plot bunny, I switch stories; repeat that about 50 times and you can imagine the state of my Fanfiction folder.

DN Fanfiction: I've gotten stuck with my B fic. Darn writer's block.

Crossovers:

HPxDN: I have about 4 floating around in my head. All are on hiatus at the moment.
1. Harry also gets adopted by Mr. Wammy. Will hopefully encompass both timelines smoothly. There's a plot bunny that wants BxHarry and LxRaito. There's definitely going to be a potential BxHarry moment when Harry's about 15-16, but whether I'll expand on it has yet to be decided. Timelines not adjusted at all, so Harry's about a year younger than L. So far I've written up to the beginning of Harry's third year.
2. Harry gets taken to Wammy's House. Eventually Harry/Near, most likely. Will pretty much destroy any laws magic has. And maybe magic itself, if I'm feeling particularly moody. Timeline has been adjusted so Harry and Near are about the same age.
3. Beyond Birthday catches sight of a child with more than one lifespan wandering the streets of LA. No clue what the plot would be (I'd rather not have Harry just join the Kira investigation). Lotsa angsty torture, etc. courtesy of B. This one's a prime example of how much I abuse my poor characters. Timeline has been adjusted so that Harry turns 11 during the Kira case.
4. LxFem!Harry. I think I'll end up just killing everyone off at the end...

HPxTransformers: a prime example (no pun intended) on my writing style. Basically, I tend to imagine events waaay before I'm even close to writing them, so I end up with weird subplots that have to be cut out because things changed once I actually wrote the events. Have finished the first part in what will either be a trilogy or quartet, depending on whether or not I want to put in a TFA crossover besides the Bayformers. (It's looking very much like a quartet at this point.) Am currently rewriting what little I have of the second arc, as I decided to add another mech to the mix. Unfortunately, I've got very little clue on the ultimate storyline of the series, and I still haven't figured out how to work the Horcruxes into the thing. The Psychology class I'm taking this year is also amazing, so I'll be adding in stuff from it (e.g. our neuroscience unit) wherever applicable.

Favorite TF characters:
• G1: Soundwave, Smokescreen, Devcon, Optimus Prime, Ironhide, Silverbolt
• Bayformers ('07 Movie): Bumblebee, Ravage, Jazz, Soundwave
• Animated: Blurr, Prowl, Optimus Prime, Megatron, Starscream, Skywarp (coward!Starscream)... it's so hard; TFA has really good characterization - possibly the best I've seen yet in the TF multiverse.

• Bayformers ('07 Movie): uh... would it be lame that I sqee when we first see Optimus drive up in that alley?
• Animated: Starscream twirling the stasis cuffs on one finger, Prowl's smile during Endgame, and Blurr's crushing defeat

Why Revenge of the Fallen Could Have Been Better (CONTAINS MAJOR SPOILERS):

• A gestalt is not something to laugh at. Ever. Nor do Cybertronians reproduce. Ergo, Devastator's "wrecking balls" were ridiculous. (Oh, and Bonecrusher's dead. So Devastator shouldn't exist.)
• Skids & Mudflap. I'm sorry, but if you had Sideswipe in there, the role of "twins" has already been fulfilled. (Even though Sunstreaker was mysteriously missing. And Sideswipe wasn't a Lamborghini. Or even red.) Not to mention that I cannot believe mechs like them would live through a civil war that destroyed their planet. I can't picture them as soldiers. Only as the pathetic wannabe-gangsters they were shown as in the film.
• Less crude language in general. Um, not all teenagers talk like this. Seriously.
• Less crude humor in general. Simmons-in-a-thong was not something we had to see on a bigscreen. Nor was the dog humping. Or Wheelie humping Mikaela's leg. May I reiterate that Cybertronians are asexual.
• Jetfire's timeline seemed a bit off for him to be a Blackbird.
• We saw about 4 main mechs for the duration of the movie: Bumblebee, Skids, Mudflap, and Wheelie. Yes, there were others, but they weren't there for nearly as long. How much screentime did Ironhide and Ratchet get? Sideswipe? One of those random mechs they created specifically for the film?
• We had basically no info on Alice-the-Pretender. Was she even called a Pretender in the film? I can't remember.

However, overall, the movie succeeded in its goal to spread the Transformers fandom/make money.

And there's the bonus of having what's practically a practice test in various subjects. I admit to using it to review for real tests.
