Author has written 10 stories for Harry Potter, Star Wars, Inuyasha, Cowboy Bebop, and Fullmetal Alchemist. Updated Nov 1 2011 I fought it, apparently for almost three years, but here I am. I'm not quite sure if I won or lost, but it looks like I at least dropped the sense of elitism and tea snobbery that threatened to overtake all. Long story short? I'm trying to cross the gap. Yeah, that one. And I've decided that if more fanfic is what wants to come out, then that's what's gonna happen. For now, I'm posting segments of the Ed/Winry Fullmetal Alchemist 100 themes challenge that's been sitting quietly, lost and unattended, on a back corner of a forgotten C drive for the better part of a year, if not longer. It survived the compy crash of 2009 (four years on borrowed time- never let your high school boyfriend build your computer) and subsequent migration to Hubert (the laptop; I'll never understand why my electronics have names but my French horn doesn't), as well as the great hard drive disaster of 2010 (for the record, hooking up a terabyte hard drive to an X-Box and hoping that you'll be able to watch some Classic Doctor Who does not work). I think after that hell, these drabbles at least deserve to take up space on the digital ether. In the works, and I barely know how this happened, is a Romy-based X-Men: Evo story. I'm trying something new and writing it as it comes, chronology be damned, so I'd like to get a few more scenes done before I start compiling them into chapters. There's a rough plan for where that one's headed, but I want to make sure I can commit before I throw it on here. I'd like to at least get teaser up fairly soon. Should you like new and experimental music, and reading about said music, check out my blog project, The Sight/Sound-ing board. It started when my friends at Sight/Sound asked me to write bios for their website, which quickly morphed into also writing some reviews and reflections on their performance recitals, and by the end of the night, they suggested a full-blown blog. Now, I write about upcoming pieces and reminisce/recreate previous shows, and whatever else Adam and Dan want me to do. Their projects are a fusion of electronics, colored water, ambiance, 1950s public service announcements, fat beatz, brass, melting ice, doomsday cults, woodwinds, Japan, classical roots, and occasional pipe wrench. First up on my docket will be a piece on their collaboration in the 2012 Cultural Olympiad. (2009) Most of these are from high school, but on the bright side "Shadows" gets noticeably better as it goes. I think I'm most proud of "Rurouni Jedi," though it could probably use a re-edit that I'm just not up to right now. | |||||||
