I'm 23! And Italian.

I love reading, going to the movies, watching TV, using my computer, corresponding with people from all over the world, writing my journal, writing in general, studying English, listening to music... And of course I love reading (and sometimes writing) fanfiction... :))))

I have a passion for learning languages. Or should I say, I love learning English AND (secondly) learning other languages. I'm currently studying to become a translator. The uni's tough, but maybe i can manage through it! (I'm okay at English, but I am SO crap at Spanish and German!).

I also happen to have a (some would say "unhealthy" fascination with everything that's Japanese... Japanese culture, Japanese language, Japan in general (and yep, I've been there, with my sis and a friend, and I fell in love with it!). I'm currently learning Japanese by myself. I am also a HUGE manga and anime otaku...

My current favorites are: BLEACH, GINTAMA, Naruto, SAIYUKI and Wild Adapter (everything by Minekura-sensei), Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle, xxxHolic, Ryoukunohara Labyrinth (gimme a break. I LOVE that OVA and I'm proud of it!), I'll CKBC (being the first series I ever collected) and so on...Fruits Basket, La Rose de Versailles, Captain Harlock, Gokusen, Boku No Koe, Ouran High School Host Club, Kashimashi, L from DeathNote.

Movies: Shinobi, Linda Linda Linda, Always, Kira Kira Hikaru, House of Flying Daggers, Bishonen, Death Note, Zatoichi (!), Nana, Nobuta wo Produce, Moon Child.

I am a rabid seiyuu fan too... Ishida Akira, Seki Toshihiko, Inoue Kazuhiko, Morikawa Toshiyuki, Miki Shinichirou, Seki Tomokazu, Ishikawa Hideo, Morikubo Shoutarou, Hirata Hiroaki, Yamaguchi Kappei, Hoshi Souichirou. Megumi Ogata, Park Romi, Fukuyama Jun and Nakai Kazuya, Suzumura Kenichi, Junichi Suwabe, Itou Kentarou etc...

I love Banana Yoshimoto. And Yukio Mishima (at least some of his works). And Haiku.

Which brings me to my interests in literature. I would probably say that my favorite is Latin American literature. Luis Sepùlveda, Gabriel Garcìa Marquez, Paco Ignacio Taibo II, Marcela Serrano, Angeles Mastretta...Gosh, "Cien Anos de Soledad" ("A Hundred Years of Solitude") is possibly the best book ever written.

As far as English is concerned, I love Shakespeare, E.A.Poe, Oscar Wilde... My favorite book is probably "Wuthering Heights" by Emily Bronte. I also love John Connolly, JRR Tolkien, Martin, and I worship Harry Potter. I love Asimov, too, and Clarke. Michael Cunningham. Annie Proulx.

I like Michael Ende, Brecht's poems, "unter den linden", Thomas Mann, Hermann Hesse.

My favorite movies are (in sparse order): Velvet Goldmine, Fried Green Tomatoes, the Big Chill, Barbarian Invasions, Il pranzo di Babette, Walk on Water, Brokeback Mountain, Leon, Saturno Contro, Le Fate Ignoranti (His Secret Life), Fing Amal, Todo Sobre Mi Madre and so many others.

Music-wise I like just about everything... I'm not into specific genres, if a song touches the right chords then it's love. At the moment I like songs from various anime: Gintama's 'Pray' and 'Signal by Kelun'. Michi -To You All. Kaze no Machi he from Tsubasa Chronicle etc etc.

My all-time favorites are Bruce Springsteen, REM, Simon & Garfunkel, Bob Dylan, Patty Smith, the Beatles (somewhat), Elvis Presley, Loreena McKennitt.

More recent: the Killers, Muse, Green Day, Red Hot Chili Peppers...
