A little about myself for anyone who is interested:
Over 30 and that's all I'm admitting.
An honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces.
I now have a Beta who does a fine job of letting me know where I can improve! LOL! Seriously, I love my Beta.
Reading has always been a passion of mine as well as writing short stories, even as a young child. Then as an adult I discovered LOTR and have not been the same since. My friends and family call me obssessed, and they are probably right.
Actually I feel somehow blessed. It's not everyone who can feel so passionately about something in their life. Mine is writing.
Favorite it-isms to live by:
1. Don't sweat the small stuff and it's all small stuff.
2. Don't worry, do something. If you can't do anything, still don't worry.
4. Worry profits a man/woman nothing.
5. The next time you think you're perfect, try walking on water.
6. Think first, speak later. You'll appear more intelligent.
Favortite thing to say to capitalism haters: Money is evil, until you need some.
And my all time favorite from the Mellon Chronicles "Never doubt in the darkness what you know to be true in the light."
I appreciate all reviews of my work, whether critical or applauding. Everything helps and I gladly accept all the help I can get.
WIP- The Exodus- My old (and it was ancient) computer crashed and I lost everything. Plot, notes, storyline, you name it, I lost it. Sorry, but on indefinite hold. I have to go and rebuild everything, research and so on. Then I have to get it all past my Beta, who is rightfully tough, demanding, and absolutely will not accept anything that does not pass muster.
WIP-I have removed some of my first fics and have corrected to the best of my ability spelling and grammatical errors.
4-13-08 I am rewriting the "Dark Hunt" series. It is a darker more sinister version and comes closer to what I had originally in mind. My Beta has been a big help and without her, I doubt it would carry as well. The entire series is close to completion and should be up soon.
Have a new fic, "Arial". It's my version of what would happen should a normal everyday person who is clueless about LOTR would do if they found themselves in ME. It is not a mary-sue or 10th walker. I'm having alot of fun with the fic and hope readers will as well.
7-6-08 Resuming writing as life has returned to sorta normal. Getting married is hectic...lots to do and plan, and prepare. I apologize that the update for Arial was so long in coming.
8-9-08 Wrote a one shot, Estel. Am in process of buying a fixer-uper house. My life is hectic again. Got a trojan in my computer from Limewire. Had to wipe the thing clean to get rid of it. Lost new chapter of Arial, am rewriting it. I ask all my readers for lots of patience. This one shot has turned into a series of one shots about various characters before, during and after the quest.
8-31-08 Fiancee Ran Off-Said that I would always be second best to his family. Packed his stuff and ran off with an ex-fed convict wanted by the mafia for ratting them out to get a shorter prison sentence, who just happens to be his step-father who had him slinging dope at 8 years of age, and used to beat the crap out of his mother in front of him no less. So I'm just a little upset right now. But better that he ran off now, than later...
8-31-08 What was I thinking? Arial has turned into a nightmare and is bogged down. I currently have no inspiration for her what-so-ever. But right now, considering what has just dropped into my lap, I really have no inspiration for writing anything. Give me about a week and I should return to normal.
I do appreciate constructive criticism and reviews, but I do not like it when someone takes it upon themselves to start demanding the storyline I write. There is a difference between suggestions and demands. But what I find to be particulary offensive is when the demand is coupled with insult. Unfortunately, I had to bann someone. I did not like doing so, but I don't like being harrassed either.
