Time for a profile revamp...yay for procrastination.
So, yeah, I'm Jessica. I write.
--Could you expand on that?
Well, okay. I write a lot. For a while, it was every day, and that's still my vague goal, but it's usually only 4 or 5 times a week, and usually not on fanfiction. I'm about ankle deep in my second novel along with a few random fanfics that I never got around to finishing. I also write a few poems and short stories a month that I try to polish enough to send into literary magazines. I've only started dabbling in sending in my work a few weeks ago even though I've been thinking about it for a lot longer. I haven't gotten anything published thus far, but I'm young yet. Ummm, yeah. So, to summize, I'm Jessica, and I write, but haven't we already covered that?
Also, music is pretty important. Nirvana's the best, and none can rival them in my heart. Other than Kurt Cobain, I listen to a wide variety of things. Pretty much everything from Norah Jones to Iron Maiden to Luciano Pavarotti, although Aerosmith, Imogen Heap, The Wallflowers, and Kansas are worth mentioning as some of my favorites. There are like three country songs that I can listen to without thinking of new ways to commit suicide, and I'm not a huge listener of rap or hip hop, but other than that, I'm game.
As for movies, my favorite is Almost Famous, and let's just stop there so as to prevent a ramble.
Now for books, just to cover the bases. My favorite is The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton, and I would reccomend that book before any other. It freaking changed my life, man. Because I'm tired of italicizing things, and because it annoys me when people don't italicize book titles, I'll just list the authors henceforth. Jhumpa Lahiri, Jodi Picoult, Stephenie Meyer, Neal Shusterman, Scott Westerfeld, Elizabeth Gilbert, and most recently, Rob Thurman, are my favorites.
I'm just all about favorites today, aren't I?
To close, my two newest reasons for fanaticism are the tv show Supernatural and Rob Thurman's books Nightlife, Moonshine and Madhouse. Both of them, like The Outsiders, have that great brotherly relationship that makes me smile, and both are a little dark and could fall in the Urban Fantasy genre. Amazing, amazing. Check 'em out.
I've created a C2! It's for all you wonderful Rob Thurman fans, because it's full of stories pertaining to her books. Well, to the Leandros series anyway. It's called A Bug in My Coke, and feel free to check it out or PM me if you have something to add to it. All Nightlife, Moonshine, and Madhouse fics are welcome.
Cal Leandros is now an official Fanfiction cateogry. Woot!
