I just figured if she can write--or copy/paste--all that, I should be able to put something up! It's also something to do while I try to figure out how I'm going to handle the next transition point in my story...

I am very, very old. This is what happens to you when you don't die. I remember before the internet, before personal computers were common possessions, before DVDs, before VHS, and before cable TV. I think Betamax may have been around, but I didn't know or care about it! We had a black and white TV that could receive three or four stations. And yet I am NOT a vampire, Immortal, Watcher, Delvian, Hynerian, Nebari, Sebacean, High Court Sidhe, or any other extraordinarily long-lived species!

My older brother, younger sister and I spent a lot of time in pretend play, inventing complicated pretend worlds with multiple characters, histories and maps. We got plot ideas from TV programs and books we read, but we incorporated them into our own universes and always put our own spin on them. In short, I have in a sense been making up fanfiction all my life!

I have worked for many years as a child care provider, from infancy to school-aged children. I quit because of the adults involved (parents and administrators). Also, I got to like receiving more pay for less stressful work, while not having to bring lesson plans home to work on in my own time. Then there's not feeling compelled to constantly spend your own money on classroom supplies!

I have a reading disorder-- I am powerless over my desire to read! Some of my favorite novelists are Steven Brust, Lois McMaster Bujold, Emma Bull, Georgette Heyer, Tanya Huff, Mercedes Lackey, Jacqueline Lichtenberg and Jean Lorrah, Patrica McKillip, Terry Pratchett, Roger Zelazny... and way too many others to list!

TV shows I have loved include Star Trek, Man from Atlantis, Beauty and the Beast (Ron Perlman, but the Disney Movie was aiight), MacGyver, Airwolf (with Geraint Wyn Davies, not Jan Michael Vincent) Alien Nation, Star Trek: Deep Space 9, Quantum Leap, Forever Knight (with Geraint Wyn Davies again), Earth2, CSI: Crime Scene Investigations, Farscape, sniff...sob...WAAH, and of course, Stargate:SG1!

I have recovered from Farscape's cancellation as much as I ever WILL recover! Farscape is a dream, you cannot kill a dream. And the John Crichton/Aeryn Sun ship makes Sam/Jack look like the pallid never-to-be-realized vague sexual attraction that it is! (Sam needs intensive therapy to see that Daniel is her true soulmate. Sorry all SJ shippers, but there it is.)

However, I am definitely OTC, not OTP. And the OTC is Daniel! I'll read almost any Daniel-friendly fic, irrespective of pairing, including slash. Though Gen, (no pairing, team-as-family) is my true Happy Place! Though I have to admit, sometimes a little PWP/Romance featuring Daniel is just... yeah!
