Author has written 21 stories for Star Wars, Harry Potter, Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Conan series. Hello! I'm What-Ansketil-Did-Next and I mostly enjoy writing and reading about the darker characters in Harry Potter and Star Wars, which are my two main fandoms. I used to use this site simply under the name Ansketil, until I accidentally locked myself out of my own account and had to get myself a new name. A story co-written with the lovely ladyoflilacs. It can be found at our joint account here. I've been gone for a while now, so I decided it might be time to come back. I'm one of those odd people who go through periods of hermetic hibernation when certain stars align. Without explanation. This may seem arrogant, but really it is a result of a strange, crippling inability to communicate at certain times. I wish I knew why. I'm writing original fiction these days, but I still enjoy fanfiction and have many ideas I'd still like to realise. I used to post on livejournal under the name ansketil_rose, where you could find many more Star Wars stories of mine, besides the ones I publish here. However, I received so many spam comments a day on my journal, I eventually made the decision to delete the account. The Status of the Incomplete Stories: As regards why many of my stories have not been updated, my laptop died a while back and it had on it - among other things - the complete third chapter of Crash, several thousand words of chapter 23 of You Know Who?, and two-thirds of the third chapter of The Vanishing Glass. Clearly, the number three is not my friend. I have since been unwilling to attempt to replicate what I wrote and thus the three stories will not be updated until I can pull the files from the smoking carcass of my hard drive. This, I have been given to understand, is perfectly possible but - like so many things - is dependent on my having adequate funds. So watch this space. Given what I've just said, please don't be upset if you see me updating stories that aren't those three. I would absolutely adore to be working on them, but until I get those files, I just can't. So I'm doing other things in the meantime. You Know Who? - I do intend to finish this. It's my epic baby. How I learned to stop worrying and love writing Lord Voldemort - plus it was some of the best sort of awesome fun I ever had. Hermione too. It's like writing a crazy tennis match of POVs. Besides which, messing with Deathly Hallows is all too easy. I've had the ending in my head for a long time now. As regards when it will be updated, see above. Crash - I love this story. I really do. Why shouldn't Palpatine, Anakin, Obi-Wan, and R2-D2 go on an adventure together? Palpatine, as a friend one said to me, needs to be pushed out of his ivory tower once and a while and get taken for a spin. As for updates, see above. The Vanishing Glass - I never actually intended to write this. I had this dream and I wrote something quite unexpected for a friend of mine as a result. Harry Potter meets Suckerpunch. I hated Suckerpunch. Paterfamilias - Will not be updated. The poor thing was written so long ago, pre D.H., and I cannot find it in myself to update it. Child of Sah'ot - This is actually something I have plans for. I don't like the way it's written and intend to improve upon it. Thus, it has been taken down. This is not altogether a sad day.
