Author has written 28 stories for Star Wars, Doctor Who, Torchwood, Marvel, and Spider-Man.

Hey, my name is James and I come from the 'sunny' (in inverted commas) shores of the United Kingdom, and I'm a Post Graduate living at home searching for work, primarily in the Heritage Sector. My primary interests are History, reading, computers, Paintballing, TV and music.

I enjoy writing stuff for the Whoniverse (Doctor Who, Torchwood and Sarah Jane Adventures), Star Wars, Marvel Comics (I swear that I come up with so many 'What Ifs' for Marvel, that if Utau needs a vacation I'd be glad to take over for the week), DC Comics, Dragonball and occasionally original fiction. Anyway I love reviews of any of my stories, so if you want to please do so, it always helps to know what I'm doing right and what I can improve on.

Brand New Update (01/07/12):

As you might notice I'm in the process of returning to FF.Net with the intention of returning to some unfinished stuff but also to start two very new and very exciting fanfiction crossover projects which I'll be hopefully talking about in the coming weeks. In the meantime I have been very grateful for your numerous reviews and requests in my absense and hope that I shall live up to your expectations! Also I'm going to let you know what's staying up, coming down and most importantly what's brand new and epic! So till then! :)

Notes of Interest (To Be Updated Shortly!)

I'm taking the following incomplete stories down temporarily: Metaltron: Last of the Daleks and most of the What If stuff. DO NOT PANIC. These stories are all ones which are relatively early on in writing and since I have wrote little of them, or else have not been worked on in a LONG time. They WILL (hopefully) return, with most if not all of the old stuff updated - for example the Bucky story will be refined to fit about 5-6 chapters, which is how I want the longer What Ifs to go down.

Against my better judgement I'm leaving I, Master, Time Switch, the two incomplete Doctor Who Classicfieds and Senator in the Fireplace as they are for now. These are all still relatively new works and I do hopefully plan to update all of them in the future, particularly the last one. I was surprised at the time how popular I, Master was and I do want to write more for it, but the intention I had of finish it before the Master's return on Xmas won't probably happen now unfortunately. :(

Now, the real important thing - for ANYTHING now outside Drabbles I will be having them Beta Read first. This means delays of course, but I want things to be well written first. Everybody wins. I think.

Derek/James

Favourite Pairings (To Be Updated)

Doctor Who: I am firmly of the opinion that each Doctor has his own respected Pairing and personality, and that across the years certain female companions might have suited him as a love interest if needed. The ones which immediately strike me as logical are probably Three/Liz, Three/Jo, Four/Sarah, Four/Romana II (I find her second incarnation to suit him more than the first), Five/Nyssa, Five/Tegan, Five/Peri (Six/Peri isn't quite as belivable as a pairing - they're a great companion set though), Six/Evelyn, Eight/Grace, Eight/Charley, Nine/Rose, Ten/Rose (to a lesser extent, the Doctor was right a to what he said in Journey's End, Rose suits the battle scarred Doctor better, no matter what several zillion fangirls think to me) and Ten/Martha (Yeah, I said Ten/Martha. A lot of Rose Fans seem to hate her which is incredibly harsh as she's such a great companion for the Tenth Doctor and can be ok as a pairing to me). There's also a couple of one-shot characters like Astrid, Renette, Christina, River Song and Joan Redfern which make for nice if bitter sweet interests for the current Doctor.

As far as companion/companion pairings are concerned I like Ian/Barbara, Ben/Polly, Jamie/Victoria, Liz/Brigadier, Hex/Ace and Rose/Mickey. To be honest it occurs to me that there's not many occasions where the Doctor has both a male and female companion in the TARDIS anyway.

Torchwood: Pretty much most of the ones the show has made or at least hinted at; Jack/Ianto, Jack/John, Jack/Jack, Ianto/Lisa, Tosh/Owen, Tosh/Tommy, Owen/Diane and Gwen/Rhys. Personally if I had to pick my favs I'd go for Owen/Tosh and Gwen/Rhys - Owen/Gwen as shown never really worked well, and I've got a soft spot for Rhys and cheered when the show actually let him know about Gwen's job. Owen/Tosh is probably my favourite set, and like most I was gutted to see them go but felt they at least got a cracking sendoff. Jack/Ianto is ok - I'm not Gay and am never fond of slash fics but as the show has it established I'm ok with it, though like writer Marcus.S.Lazarus states in his own pairings, I felt the relationship seemed to occur a little too quickly, kind of like Owen/Gwen to an extent really. It felt better written in Series 2 and Children of Earth though.

And also, thought it barely happened in the series, I would love to see more Jack/Tosh fics. They're my two favourite team members and I like to see some of that in fanfiction. Gwen/Jack is quait, but it was always the flirting sort of thing that Jack tends to do, though I do like the relationship these two have, I have mostly preferred Jack/Ianto and Gwen/Rhys as the ways things are right now.

Star Wars: Ah, the classics. Han/Leia, Anakin/Padme, Luke/Mara. Anakin/Ahsoka always make me sudder if I ever see it. She's his apprentice, people.

Marvel: Spider-Man/MJ is probably my favourite couple in the Marvel Universe, no matter what a certain Editor-In-Chief thinks. Gwen Stacy and Black Cat are interesting but don't come close to our delightful readhead Mary Jane, who's sheer history with Peter gives her the top spot. Ugh, stupid Marvel writers have really ruined such a lovely pairing thanks to OMD and a deal with the Devil haven't they?

Outside Spidey, I like Jean/Scott (Scott/Emma is alright but I'd trust Jean a million years more anyday than Miss Ex-Hellffire Club and current Evil Illuminati Member), Kitty Pryde/Pitor (Colossus), Gambit/Rogue, T-Challa (Black Panther)/Storm, Reed/Susan, Ben Grim (Thing)/Alica Masters, Captain America II (Bucky Banes)/Black Widow I (Nastasha), Jessica Jones/Luke Cage, Dr Strange/Clea, Captain America I (Steve Rogers)/Sharon Carter, Hawkeye (Clint Baton)/Mockingbird, Hulk/Caiera the Oldstrong and the odd other one which escapes me. Hey, there are zillions of characters in Marvrel and I can't be expected to recall them all at the drop of a hat. They're my main favourites, in any case.

Random Character Fic List/Quiz

I've done this before and it was fun the first time through - in fact Senator in the Fireplace came from one of these. Now it's time for another one. Who knows where it might lead? ;)

List 12 people from any fandom. Does this actually have a name? Well anyway, here's the 12 randomly selected characters. I'm picking four from each of the fandoms I partake in.

1. Martha Jones

2. Incredible Hulk/Bruce Banner

3. Han Solo

4. Dalek Sec

5. Doctor Octopus

6. Padme Amadala

7. The Tenth Doctor

8. Qui-Gon Jinn

9. Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker

10. Wolverine/Logan

11. Mary Jane Watson (Spider-Man's formerly hot red haired wife turned devil dealer. Bah, Joe Q.)

12. Lucy Saxon

Ok, I can confirm they were all utterly random. Now for the questions...

1. Have you ever read a Six/Eleven fic? Do you want to?

Padme Amadala and Mary Jane Waston? Hm... HEY, NOW SERIOUSLY, I COULDN'T REMEMBER THE NUMBERS! DON'T JUDGE ME! :D Anyway, the answer to the question is no. As to whether I would want to, whilst I'll admit the image is... interesting, I'm kind of a 'stick to sexuality' kind of person - in short if a character is straight in continuity reading about them being otherwise kind of detracts a little. But if we were talking about the two character simply meeting up... heh, it could work. If it was well written I'd read it. :)

2. Do you think Four is hot? How hot?

Erm... how hot is Dalek Sec? Well considering he's a gentically enhanced, bred to hate mutant encased in a black armour shell turned suit wearing squid man... not very. Certainly his upgrade was an improvement, but I still can't see Dalek Sec doing well on the dating channels unless the chick had a serrrrrrrrious tenacle fetish... so he'd probably do well in Japan! ;)

3. What would happen if Twelve got Eight pregnant?...

Gigging First Lady of the Master Lucy Saxon getting Jedi Master Qui Gon Jinn pregnant. Well the universe would probably implode from the impossibility. No wait, we have the Paradox Machine, that's ok then. Qui-Gon would probably blame it on the Midi-Chlorians mind, that or Danny Devito. :P

4. Can you recall any fics about Nine?

Recall fics on Darth Vader? Is the sky blue? Of course! Here's in fact a straight link to an amusing fic for Anakin...

http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3315789/1/The_Users_Guide_and_Manual_to_Anakin_Skywalker

5. Would Two and Six make a good couple?

The Incredible Hulk and Padme as a couple. Hm, sorry but probably not. Hulk is not an intelligent sort of guy and he'd find himself rather out of place amongst the halls of the Galactic Senate. And think of the mess poor 3P0 will have to clean up everytime Bruce has an episode. But chiefly? Anakin/Padme and Bruce/Betty are just too iconic to change seriously.

6. Five/Nine or Five/Ten? Why?

The big question... would Logan or Lord Vader would be the love of Otto's life? Hmmm, well looking once again past the 'stick to sexuality' thing again, I reckon both would have benefits. Vader and Ock would be a deadly unstoppable force of terror across the galaxy, and if he existed in the Star Wars Universe I could see Doctor Octopus as one of the Emperor's fiendish agents, lover of Vader or otherwise. Looking at Logan, he's kind of a crappy lover since by record he'll long outlast you and you'll be the target of several big name villains, though Octopus can take take of himself. But I think I'm sticking with Octopus/Vader. To be honest neither has a nice mental picture in any case.

7. What would happen if Seven walked in on Two and Twelve having sex?

The Tenth Doctor walking in on Lucy Saxon in cahoots with the Incredible Hulk. Well isn't that a pleasant image to go to bed with? Hm, well the Doctor would probably vomit violently, and I suspect there wouldn't be much of Lucy left after a bout of hankie pankie with the big green guy. I'll say no more.

8. Make up a summary for a Three/Ten fic.

A Han Solo meets Wolverine fic hey? Hm, has scope to be very interesting. No mention of anything sexual in the title so I'll have a straight crossover.

Title: Tough Odds, Bub

Summary: A bad mission for Xavier gets Logan stranded on an backward alien world where the local town makes Madripour seem like a candy store. A drink at the grotty Cantina might clear things up, if some smart-ass punk with a blaster and his walking carpet don't get to him first. Logan's POV, X-Men/Star Wars Crossover, Pre-ANH for Han and Chewie.

Hm, pretty good. This could be our winner for spontanious future fic of the list, people!

9. Is there any such thing as One/Eight fluff?

Martha Jones and Qui-Gon Jinn. Er, no. Could be interesting though - both are strong willed intelligent people, though we have a bit of an age difference. But at the moment I don't think so.

10. Suggest a title for a Seven/Twelve hurt/comfort fic.

The Tenth Doctor and Lucy Saxon in some hurt stuff. Yikes, this might actually exist! Hmmmm...

Title: Mastering Pain

Summary: One year on from the year which never was, Lucy Saxon is back in the Doctor's life. She's had her life destroyed. He's got the promise to become greater than her husband ever could be. But can the Time Lord Victorious heal the heart of the woman who has been scarred by vaingloria, and should he? My take on the forthcoming return of Lucy Saxon in 'End of Time', AU.

Meh, it's not really me to do heart dragging stuff. But that was ok. Here's something better - the ONLY Ten/Lucy story on the site, pretty good too - http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4784725/1/Little_Favours.

11. Would anyone on your friends list write Two/Four/Five?

The Incredible Hulk, Dalek Sec and Doctor Octopus. Not together I'm afraid. Would be an interesting team of super villains though, or at least Sec and Ock - I could see them working together well, they have that misguided and tragic evilness about them.

12. What might Ten scream at a moment of great passion?

Logan: "BUBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB!!" Erm, that or some heart stopping roar of primal lust.

13. If you wrote a One/Six/Twelve fic, what would the warning be?

Martha Jones/Padme/Lucy Saxon: Warning, contains improper usages of medical scapels, polictical manifestoes and Toclafane Balls. Those poor, poor Toclafane. :P

14. What might be a good pick up line for Ten to use on Two?

A pick up line for Logan to use on his old enemy Hulk. Gee, isn't Wolverine getting a bashing today?

Wolverine: "So bub... you like metal claws on your tough green skin?"

Bah, that's awful, sorry. I'm not a pickup line kind of guy.

15. What is Six's super secret kink?

Padme's secret kink, hmmmm... almost certainly doing it in one of those Senate pods. Probably lightsabers involved in a bad way too. :S

16. Would Eleven shag Nine? Drunk or sober?

Would Mary Jane have it on with Lord Vader? Hmmmmm, well pre-One More Day I would definitely say no but now little is sacred. And hey, Peter just had a drunken stand with his roomate and no-strings with Black Cat, MJ needs to up the ante! But in regards to being plastered, she'd have to be fairly so to want Anakin's scarred remains. Of course pre-suit would definitely swing - in fact I could see Anakin being rather scared of Miss 'Face It Tiger You've Hit the Jackpot' and her party lifestyle. But it's Vader we speak of soooo... probably not.

17. "(1) and (9) are in a happy relationship until (9) runs off with (4). (1), brokenhearted, has a hot one-night stand with (11) and a brief unhappy affair with (12), then follows the wise advice of (5) and finds true love with (3). " What title would you give this fic?

"Martha Jones and Darth Vader are in a happy relationship until Vader runs off with Dalek Sec. A heartbroken Martha has a hot one-night stand with Mary Jane Waston and a brief unhappy affair with Lucy Saxon, then follows the wise advice of Doctor Octopus and finds true love with Han Solo."

Title: The Fanfic Writer's Nightmare Or Dream Depending On A Question of Readership Kinks. Or The Year of Love Which Never Was.

18. If Three and Seven get together, who tops?

Yikes, Han Solo and the Tenth Doctor - two characters who hardly have meek personalities. I can foresee a lot of arguing and waving of blasters and sonic screwdrivers and statements as to whether the Falcon or TARDIS is cooler, but ultimately Chewie would threaten to pull the Doctor's arms out of his sockets, the Time Lord would create a handy Deus Ex Machina to survive and the universe would implode as the Master and Vader laugh evilly about the chaos.

So, I don't think anyone tops. Maybe the Doctor by a thread.

19. When was the last time you read a fic about Five?

Outside my upcoming AU Doc Ock as a Hero fic, there's the excellent writer 'Inimitable Enigma Cypher' who has created a trilogy of AU Octopus tales which are just wonderful. Kind of Doc Ock Noir, I would say, taking bits of the comics, 2004 movie and the animiated serieses. Here's a link to his homepag where he has a ton of Ock stuff besides as well.

http://www.fanfiction.net/u/1030782/The_Inimitable_Enigma_Cypher

20. How would you feel if Seven/Eight was canon?

If the Tenth Doctor and Qui-Gon was in continuity, it would be very weird, yet would oddly make sense at the same time. Meh, whatever, I'm tired. :P

If you read all of that, you're entitled to a cookie. Feel free to make your own list and give me an IM to check it out. :)
