Let's see...

Here's what you need to know about me. I'm 22, female, and not a particularly interesting person. I write mostly for myself, but I love to hear what other people think about my stories so please review if you have the time. Constructive criticism is always welcome!

"An Accident of Fate" - This is my first Sasuke/Hinata fic and I'm afraid it shows. The plot's a little confusing, but I like to think the writing and interesting details make up for it. Basically, seventeen year old Sasuke and Hinata are thrown back in time to an alternate dimension. Of course, that alternate dimension is actually the canon we know and Sasuke and Hinata are really from a world where Itachi turned all his rage inward and wound up committing suicide instead of killing the Uchiha Clan. So now Sasuke has to pass the chuunin exams, figure out a way to kill his genius brother, and go through puberty all over again.

"The Beauty of a Caged Bird" - It's under the Sasuke/Hinata category for lack of a better option, but it's actually about Uchiha Madara and Hyuuga Hitomi. Their relationship does have the same kind of dynamic though. This is also my personal favorite so far. It's a one-shot set during the first First Great Shinobi War, before the hidden villages were formed when the ninja clans with bloodline limits still held all the power. Unfortunately, recent chapters in the manga have revealed that a member of the Akatsuki is also Uchiha Madara. I don't mind him as a villain (in fact, it made the romance all the more interesting because you know it's going end tragically), but it's clear that my characterization of him was way off. I'm still very fond of this, though.

"A Normal Conversation" - This is gen and probably the closest thing to canon I've written so far. It was experimental and I'm not as happy with it as I could be, but it is kind of interesting I guess. It's a Hinata POV on her encounters with Rock Lee and/or Sasuke and her personal take on them both.

"When Cherry Blossoms Fall" - This is an experimental fic that I've been wanting to write since I noticed the resemblance between Kaoru and Sakura, the woman who sacrificed her life for Kenshin's when he was a boy, after I watched the Trust and Betrayal OVA. For some reason, I saw a lot of similarities between the two and the plot bunny bit me and wouldn't let go. Reincarnation is a part of Japanese culture and I really like the idea of Kaoru saving Kenshin in a past life in the same way that he saved her so many times in this one. As for the timeline, it's set after Jin'eh kidnaps Kaoru and right before Kenshin leaves for Kyoto. The characters might be a little OOC - they're a bit too close and Kaoru doesn't yell as much as she probably should - but she's definitely infatuated with Kenshin and he's feeling emotional from the revelation so I think it fits. This is more of a self-indulgence fic than anything else, but I'm kind of happy with it.

"Practical Considerations" - This was written as a reaction to all the Kenshin/Kaoru PWPs where they both have lots of crazy monkey sex without any repercussions whatsoever. There wasn't really a set form of birth control in the Meiji Era (I actually tried to research it but I didn't have much luck). I just assumed Megumi would have access to home remedies or imported chinese herbs and let the reader fill in the rest for themselves. Anyway, I got to wondering about how awkward it would be if Kenshin came across Kaoru's Meiji version of birth control pills and this fic was born. It's just a one-shot drabble thing without much thought behind it and I may or may not write a sequel, but if I do it will probably have lots of crazy monkey sex lol.

Lately I've been rereading the Rurouni Kenshin manga and I've managed to fall in love with it all over again, so don't be surprised if some more stray Kenshin/Kaoru fics show up soon!
