Can't think of anything else which could possibly be of interest here. Fanfiction.net Stuff I love writing. I fill all my spare time with writing - or I usually do. As I'm currently at university (and the lecturers think it's fun to torture us) I am now often snowed under with work which takes up far more of my time then you might think. Under normal circumstances though, it's all writing. Anyway, I've recently started writing fanfiction - I never used to be interested in writing fanfiction, but I'm really enjoying writing this one. As a side note, I always use British spellings - I live in Ireland, not America and so I learnt the British spellings. Simple, really, but on other sites I've been accused of being a bad speller for not using US spellings. :3 I don't like Mary Sues. It's not an abhorrent dislike, but I try to steer clear of them - and for this reason, I would like to be told if I ever write one. xD I have done several litmus tests for the characters in my fics so far, so hopefully that's not an issue. I always reply to reviews, and if I don't it's definitely not intentional! I think it's utterly rude to ignore a review, even a simply "thanks" in recognition of the review is enough to know that you didn't waste your time reviewing a story by a brick wall! :D As for favourite types of fics - well, Titanic firstly. I only really read Titanic fics, although I occasionally stray into the Pirates of the Caribbean section. Anyway, my favourite Titanic fics are ones which focus on the officers. I find their roles (and possible stories) on Titanic far more interesting than Jack/Rose stories. Although I do occasionally enjoy Jack/Rose stories, they aren't my first preference. I also enjoy reading Thomas Andrews fics, mainly because I find him fascinating. Really fascinating. But mostly officer fics, anyway. As long as they're well written with an interesting plot. Finally, I have to ask - what is up with fics where the author asks the readers to suggest what should happen in the next chapter? It baffles me that someone would start writing with no ideas for plot whatsoever. It really does. If I come across that, I feel like I've just wasted my time reading that far. I also hate unfinished stories, especially good ones - I always live in hope that they will one day be updated. :D I've decided to accept beta requests! :D I just think that reading and checking spelling, grammar and everything is beneficial to the author and the reader. So if you're interested, let me know! :D The doll in my avatar was created by me - with a love of Star Trek, Adobe Photoshop 7, half a bottle of pepsi and a base from DHF. More dolls by me can be found on my homepage. | |||||||||||||
