Author has written 6 stories for Harry Potter, Young Wizards, and Liar Game. Now, for my profiley goodness! Okay, the only personal detail about me that I'd imagine you'd want to know is my age, which is 19. Almost 20, hmm... Other than that, I can't think of anything that anyone other than a stalker would really care about. Oh, and I'm female, straight, and relatively inexperienced with boys. Which the internet probably doesn't need to know, but hey, I'm anonymous! Oh, and that picture over there looks nothing like me. Wait, why does the ff.net spellchecker think "internet" isn't a word?? ff.net spellchecker, you are weird. Anyway. In Harry Potter fanfiction, I prefer ships that aren't found in the books. Not because I don't like canon ships, but because it feels a bit funny to read about Hermione and Ron getting it on. I mean, they're like my friends. Sort of. Somehow, reading about Hermione and Draco getting it on is less... like I'm spying on their private business. Because it would never actually happen. If that makes any sense. On the other hand, I won't read Sirius/Lily anything because I don't believe that Sirius would do that to his friend, so I guess I'm not too consistent. And for other books, I usually prefer canon pairings. Lately, I've been delving into other fandoms, including the hopefully canon ships of the Young Wizards series and some (canon?) Artemis/Holly Artemis Fowl stuff. I've found that it's pretty much all sweeter than the Harry Potter stuff, and I've been in a fluffy mood lately. I also enjoy Bloody Jack (Jacky/Jared) and will love you forever if you actually write a fic about them, preferably a good one. The selection right now is just terrible. I prefer reading finished stories, especially one-shots, because I hate waiting for updates. Every once in a while I do get stuck on a WIP, though, and I apologize in advance for any frustrated/impatient reviews I might send to those authors. Hypocritically, I am really bad at actually finishing my own stuff, and am making a resolution right now! never to post anything that isn't already halfway written. If I've invested so much time already, there's a good chance I might actually finish. If anyone in those fandoms is interested in a beta reader, I'd be glad to assist. Just let me know! I'd also sort of like one for myself, if anyone's interested. >.> I read fanfiction for the fluff, smut, and romance. I write fanfiction to experiment with new writing styles, and because I figure if I write fanfiction and put it here, more people will appreciate it than if I write original fiction and have it sit unread on my computer for years. Of course that also means that each of my pieces is wildly different from the others. If you like one, it isn't guaranteed that you'll like the next one. They tend to all be humorous because that seems to work for me, and romantic because I'm a sucker for fluff, but other than that... yeah. Sorry about that. At the moment, I'm very interested in point of view, and how different choices in narrators change how the story is told. Narrator bias, or something. Calling Malfoy Malfoy when it's Hermione's PoV, but Draco when it's a slytherin's PoV; switching halfway through from Malfoy to Draco after she starts falling for him; calling people by the wrong names by accident, when the first person narrator is distracted; starting out in third person and then having the character tell a story in first person; starting out in first person and then having the character tell a story in third person... things like that. So I've been trying to play with that when I write. Of the stuff I've written, Curricular Activities is my personal favorite. Dunno how many people would share my sentiment, though. Does anyone ever really read these profile things? Does anyone really care? Or are they just a waste of space... Usually it bugs the heck out of me when people have big long profiles. But then, sometimes I'll read the big long profiles. So who knows. I'll stop here so people don't have to scroll through ten miles of pointless blathering before they get to my stories. Similarly, does anyone understand my name? I always wonder... It's a joke, you see. | |||||||||
