Author has written 1 story for Legend of Zelda.

Starting a temporarily new section, guys, called News from the Nerd.

5/2/09: (sighs) It's been a long while, hasn't it, folks? Don't know if any of you even bother coming to see if I've updated or not. Or if I'm still alive, for that matter... (let's just say mortality hit me like a piledriver...) There are a few things I can do for you all, like tell you the situation. And it is...grim... I've not really found anything I can pull out from my head. I think I even mentioned it once. It's the sort of thing you wish you had mental prune juice for, because I know what I want to write but I can't put it on paper (oh, ew...). I do know, however, that one or two chapters in particular, are the main problem. The Council chapters that I've been working on, because they feel so...bad. And this is where I hit my stumbling block before, the last time I wrote ETEW. I might do the same thing again the next time I update, rewrite each chapter all over again, just to forewarn you, but I don't think I'll be putting ETEW off hiatus any time soon. (sighs again) I'm sorry, folks, really, I am. I do want to finish this one, I hope you all can understand.
Here's hoping the next time I see you all, it will be when I (hopefully) update. Bye...

10/6/08: Sorry for not updating in, what, two months? Life has gotten VERY busy lately, what with my new job, my first job, and college (why they're all in the same place is a sign that I pissed off someone upstairs). I had been planning to crank out a chapter or two for ETEW, but at this rate, it's not happening...So, until I can find that little jolt of inspiration, I'm putting ETEW on hiatus. Again, I'm sorry. (bows, and walks away)

7/31/08: And well, today's news bit is that for the past three weeks, I've had no laptop, so I haven't had much chance to review all the stories I want to review. So if I don't review your story when I had before, well, sorry.

Hi, to spare you the agony of reading a regular, tired format for my profile, I decided to expand on the interview idea. So, please, sit back and enjoy this piece of fictional work that is entirely non-fiction.

xxxxx

(Deirdre, unfortunate victim and cub reporter, sits down on the bar stool, adjusting her pen and notepad.) Well, let's get started, sir. (?) We'll start with the basics, so please state your name...?
(Evil grin) Well, most women like to call me god, though you most likely would have to spend the night to find out why... I said your name, not your delusions, dolt! Ouch...heh, well, I could probably give you a couple of delusions myself. (A vein in her head is twitching ominously earlier than usual) Just. Get. On. With. IT! Of course, your majes...OW! What was that for?!(Wasn't I right? She's nuts...) (Her hand rises again) Okay! Sheesh, just call me TK.

(Eyes narrowed, she continues with her interview.) What can you tell us about yourself, TK?
(I fear for my life- never) Well, I'm a guy, which you should be fully aware of, judging by that hacking cough and brilliant shade of red you turned when you came fifteen minutes early. I did say that I take a shower before interviews. Oh, and random acts of nature are not my fault. That clubbing with your purse was uncalled for! Your fault, it was a windy day! What were you thinking?! (Ignoring her, it's fun.) Continuing with your question, I'm eighteen years old, and a student at UTPA, which many of you should have been able to figure out from my email address, and if you didn't, why would you care anyway, right? I'm a physics major, but I really want to transfer to Rice in Houston for a shot at an Astronomy degree.

(Her narrowed eyes widen in surprise. They're brown, in case you want an image, readers) You like astronomy? Really? You don't look like the kind of person who would do that.
(Geez, stereotypist much?) Well you don't look like the kind of person to keep it in when you drink, right? (Cheap shot, but I'm struggling here!) (I say a silent hello to the throbbing vein that has returned.) THAT WAS ONE TIME, TK!! Sure, but you really seared my eyes shu-OW! WTF?! (She's got a smirk on her face...) You were saying? I was saying that I really like astronomy, as if people couldn't tell by my profile image. I'm actually working at a planetarium for the summer. Unfortunately, I'll be censored, though that does mean you'll get the full brunt of my comedic ability.

(Her eyebrows shoot up to her reddish hair) Really? This sharp pen says otherwise. (Gulp...) So, you like astronomy in general. What sort of other hobbies do you have?
Well, teasing people, like you for example, is really fun. Though I try not to go for the cheap insults, or the painful ones. I hate doing that, and I try not to cross the line between joke and insult. Though you apparently know no distinction...Sorry! (Her purse is dropped back onto the floor) I guess you could say that I'm your typical college male, with a quirk for good measure.

(She's mumbling under her breath?) Typical my foot... What else catches your interest? Any television shows or movies?
(Evil gleam in my eye...yes...) The Playboy Channel always has amaz-urk! Will you be serious for one bloody hour?! Ca-can't r...really answer...with you choking me! (I'm free! Damn, she has a grip...) I usually watch the CSI's, and CBS's Monday and Friday lineups, just because the shows are really interesting, especially NUMB3RS, but I'm a little pissed that Moonlight got cancelled. I tune into Grey's Anatomy every so often. Other than that, I'm usually on the internet. I don't go out to the movies that often, just because. I did go see Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, but before that was a long drought. (leer) You interested in coming with me, Deirdre? The back row is always the most fun! (Dodging her purse and fists...hang on this will take a while)

(Fifteen minutes later...)

(The cub's glaring at me like there's no tomorrow...) Well, where were we? Do you play video games?
"Sexy Beach 2" was awesome, I must say. (Heck, the vein's back...) Sorry! Can't help this dirty mind! Um, let's see, I playSSBM with my friends, you know, if they aren't on the PS2 with Naruto, or I go on my Pokemon games, but I don't play as much since all I have left to do is fill the Pokedex...(What, she doesn't know Pokemon?!) Other than that, I don't play all that many video games.

(She is looking very confused for someone her age.) Yet you're writing for Legend of Zelda? That doesn't make sense! Don't you need to play those first? (Surprised. Very.) Maybe she is smarter than she looks...OW!! WTH?! Oh, I said that out loud? Whoops, my bad. Well, to be honest, I don't much like playing the games so much as I like reading about them. At any rate, I only played Windwaker for fun. I had to borrow Ocarina of Time to do some research. That and I really wanted to know what the hype was all about. I only really just finished. Thank goodness that I had the guidebook. I couldn't finish Windwaker thanks to my idiot of a brother who pawned it. Then I lost my memory card, and that all went to hell. I did get what I needed though, so it's no real loss that I returned Ocarina of Time.

(She adjusts her posture, and looks satisfied with how I answered.) Now that brings me to the main topic of interest! What, you weren't hitting on me? I thought you liked me! (That adorable vein is back. This is really fun!) How did you get into fanfiction, and fanfiction.net?
To be honest, it's one and the same to me. Back in my sophomore year of high school, one of my buddies who was like me, really into Harry Potter, showed me one story he was reading, and I got hooked. But when I came back to class the next day, well, Harry Potter is really popular, no? I lost the story, and found another, but I ended up losing that one too! Eventually, though, I got wise, and started keeping proper track. I slipped into Zelda by accident, found a few stories that were really good, and started looking and waiting around for them to update.
That was the pattern in my junior year, too. Around that time, near the end of the year I started up with the idea that became Eternal Time, Evanescent Wind. I did a preliminary chapter and showed it to the buddy. It got a thumbs down...ouch.
Then, finally, in my senior year, I got tired of losing track of so many stories, because I had no way to. So, I decided to make my profile. I was a little bit rushed, so I came up with my first incarnation, bluenavydragon. I really didn't like the name. It just wasn't me, but I wasn't sure about changing it, since I didn't have any other ideas to use. Anyway, I started writing up ETEW, but then my high school went dictator and blocked fanfiction.net, and the proxies I used to get around them didn't have all the same functions. So I had to update at another friend's house. It was around this time that I started reading The Dmgirl's material, but I ended up losing track of them during the following summer.
When I came to college, I decided not to update ETEW anymore. I had discovered that my story was really inconsistent, something all my reviewers had pointed out. I put out that I wanted a beta to help me put a new version of the story together, and waited out the rest of the semester. It was also the time I expressed my discontent with my name. So, taking a cue from one of my thought-stories, crafted a name to debut at the update of my second version. In December, The Dmgirl said she would take the beta position after she replied to a review where I thought that I had sent an email. Turns out I hadn't. The end of the semester came and I put out the new prologue and the first chapter. I had finally become The Silverdark Knight. Thankfully, The Dmgirl had not released my name yet, I had told her earlier about that little problem. Now, I've come to the point in my story where I had left off, with a new style and format, and an even bigger sack of ideas to plunder. I AM determined to finish this story. It's the one thing I have to do before I start anything else.

(Her mouth is hanging open. Close it, please) Wow...what a story! So, how did you come up with TK?
That's a really simple answer actually. I created my first-ever myspace profile as Silverdark. Sometime in October, I think. About the time I joined up with The Dmgirl, I changed it to TSDK, the abbreviation of each word in my name. The SilverDark Knight, as it is. Then that felt clumsy to use as a name on ff.net, and chopped it down to TK. The irony is that in the Digimon show, my favorite Digimon line was the Angemon series. The Digidestined tied to Patamon was T.K. I actually never expected that!

(She's actually smiling? What's up with her?) So now that we know pretty much your lifestory, what can you tell us about the future of ETEW and The Silverdark Knight?
You're not getting any secrets from me, Deirdre! Not even if I do this...?

(TK is unavailable right now. Would you like to leave a message?)

(She's bearing a distinct resemblance to the cat that ate the canary.) You were saying, TK?
That that was a cruel trick, milady. Never expected you to resist, that was a surprise. I am more morally upright than you believe. Anyway...cruel siren...I was going to say that I'm keeping my lid shut on what happens in the next chapters, but I can tell you that ETEW will not be my only story.
A weekend last month, after touring the favorites on hurting-angel's profile, got me thinking about Naruto, and I started with this new story, featuring an OC who falls in love with Sakura, my favorite character besides Kakashi. I won't let much out either, except that he's the son of someone famous. I suppose that my only drawback on this is writing about something that isn't really English-based.
I also came up with this idea of a parallel story set in Ocarina of Time. The basic plot is that someone from our world comes into Hyrule. The twist, I suppose, is that in this 'story' there are two 'sub-stories'. There's a prophecy that describes the one person who can help Link save Hyrule from Ganondorf's evil, but it seemingly describes two people, a boy and girl, and the goddesses choose one to drag over. It follows the choice the goddesses made, in either the boy or the girl. One saves Hyrule, the other brings about its downfall. I'm planning on doing both fics concurrently after I finish ETEW.

(Her pen is flying across the notepad. She really is a fast writer...) What's this I've heard about a Power Rangers story?
(Gr...) It's true. There's been this one story floating around my head since I was a freshman about a Power Rangers story. I'm glad you asked, because it ties into my music preferences. I love rock, but not always. One friend of mine had me listen to Linkin Park's "In the End", and I loved it. At the same time, I had been thinking about a story for Wild Force, and BOOM! Both collided to create a battle scene between the Lunar Wolf Ranger and Master Org. I ended up creating a story before that, but I didn't fancy much leaving him at the end alone, since everyone else had died, so I created more of a story afterwards, until it finally became the behemoth I have now in my head. Flyleaf, Evanescence, Shinedown, P.O.D., Puddle of Mudd, Saliva, Slipknot, and of course Linkin Park now feature prominently as the music to most of the battle scenes while Stonesour's "Through Glass", Breaking Benjamin, and the rest of Flyleaf anchor the calmer scenes.

If it's so much rock, what does that mean about the tone of the story?
To be honest, it's not what you expect. It's not that kiddie-tone we all know, nor is it set anywhere familiar. It's darker, more tragic, and desperate than before. It was around then that I lost my father, and started watching Dragonball Z. The darkness and the epic fighting came together, and I started adding more elements from Tolkein, such as the idea of three races, and it stayed about the same until I read Paolini, and got involved with Legend of Zelda. Those two added a newer level change, and when I started to watch Naruto, the final major influence was added. Moonlight added a vampire as a counter to the Wolf Ranger's lycanthrope. Now it's in three major parts, two small additions and a small end piece I call "Annihilation".

When can we expect to see this story?
Not any time soon. I've been trying for the past four years to write it out, but it never comes out to my expectations, or standards, and then I just throw it out. Now, I'm just trying to clear up the muddles I have in some of the sections, like techiniques, and definitions. Most of the major bits are set in stone, so that should simplify it in time. For now, though, it's nowhere close to ready.

Well, TK, thanks for your time. I'm sure that this will make for an excellent article! See you soon! (Deirdre bolted out the door pretty damn fast...oh, hang on, what does she want?) By the way, it's a good idea that you changed out of the towel. If you hadn't I would have been forced to do some very UN-pleasant things to your person...
(Wha?) Damn, she sent chills down my back...
