Author has written 10 stories for Wallflower, Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne, Ranma, and Tokyo Mew Mew. Before note: No one is ever required to read my whole profile. Just skim, if you want to. I promise not to get mad. Besides, how would I know if you read the whole thing anyway? Test you? :) I know I write a lot. Sorry for all the words. Second note: all references, etc. are underlined. So if you're looking for something particular that I'm mentioning, look for underlined stuff It's been forever, and I hope you can forgive me, but my school work has been hectic, so it's been hard. Hopefully, I can get some updates out soon, okay everyone? Please be patient (bows). I'll try to squeeze it all in. MY NAME: Hi! My name is nihongoneko. Thanks to someone, I was able to change it, because in the beginning I had spelled it wrong and instead of being able to translate it ("nihongo" for "japanese" and "neko" for "cat"), I had spelled it nihogoneko, which translated to, basically, nothing at all. So thank you, person (Reigning Fyre), for helping me. Now I have a (real) name. Although it turned out to mean something slightly different than I had aimed for ("japanese language cat" instead of "japanese cat"). ps. I am not actually Japanese. I just like the name. HOW I SIGN: My theory is that it's polite to always sign your name to every message you send, that way there is no possible confusion and people don't have to go looking all over the page for your name. Also, it's good in the case that whatever means of giving your message doesn't include your name beforehand. (and for letters you don't have to save the envelope) Therefore, I'll always have "sincerely, nihongoneko" on all my messages, replies, reviews, etc. I don't expect anyone else to do it, but it makes me feel better that I'm assured that you know who I am. (and I write sincerely because I make a point not to lie, in case you're wondering) If I don't, however, include my name, don't be insulted. I probably just forgot. (theory doesn't mean I always practice it. I try, but I'm only human) Anyway, thanks for the time it took to read this useless part of my profile information. WHAT I READ/WATCH: Um... I like about everything, and even though there's no way that I could ever read and see all manga and anime out there, I'm willing to at read any story that is suggested to me (though it may take some time to do it with school and all). I'm always open to talk too, if you want, though, again, it may take some time. I try to always review and put at least one positive thing in it, so yeah. And I'm willing to chat on about any subject out there. MY AVATAR/IMAGE/PICTURE: The avatar/image shown here was drawn by yours truly. If you can't see it, it's Vampire Game (starring Princess Ishtar and Duzell). I have similar pics (all drawn in an index card each, which is probably why it's so small) for all the manga series I collect and have collected, including Pet Shop of Horrors (starring Count D, Leon and Q-chan), Miracle Girls (starring both twins), Descendants of Darkness/Yami No Matsuei (starring Tsuzuki, Hisoka, the Count, and that weird bird thing that I still can't pronounce), Skip Beat (starring Kyoko, two grudge Kyoko's, and a chibi Ren), Tokyo Mew Mew (starring Ichigo), Real Bout High School/Samurai Girl (starring Ryoko), and Demon Diary (starring Raenef). I'm also currently working on one for Girl Got Game too. I dunno. For me, I think they turned out pretty good (though you can only see one of them here to judge by). SOME OF MY FAVORITE MANGA/ANIME AND SOMETIMES WHY: Now, cause I wanna, here's some of my favorite manga/anime (and sometimes why): (see the bottom of the page for information on my fanfictions and updating dates) W Juliet (a perfect love story between two people. and even during the serious parts, the author manages to add in a little humor. but the real serious parts are full of emotion, and make the readers experience all of it with the characters) Ranma 1/2 (who doesn't love this complex comedy? and the martial arts are great in it. the drawings are simple, yet really good.) Inu-Yasha (love the original story idea and the main characters) Fall in Love Like a Comic! (they're so cute together, and I liked the ending) Oh My Goddess! (two people who seem so different in the beginning, but have a love that's so understanding, and you're always rooting for them, in whatever they do, and everyone always ends up soupporting them. I think that this is an ideal love.) Tokyo Mew Mew Sailor Moon (friends that all really support this one girl to be strong- don't you want friends like that, who'd stay with you through thick and thin, no matter what?) Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne Fushigi Yugi Backstage Prince (the idea of an absolute love between two people is touching. Especially since the male character is so antisocial, it makes it a good story about how there's someone special out there for everyone.) Ouran Host Club (the circumstance is definitely different, but the story is all out funny and a nice twist on normal human personalities. It never gets boring to read, no matter how many times.) Tramps Like Us (the story of a unique life of two people. I can't help but continue to follow the series.) Hana-Kimi (the only story I know where the nothing hasn't really changed even after 20 volumes- the crossdressing main character still hasn't found out that the guy who likes her knows she's a girl, the other guy who likes her still think's she's really a guy so he believes that he's gay, and neither Sano nor Mizuki have really confessed their love for each other, though they both know it. I love the idea that the two main characters love each other so much and are so close ever since the beginning. Plus, the antics of all the characters are too funny.) Kodocha (who doesn't love Sana and her schemes, and throw in Akito and you definitely have a story you can't help but follow. And it's not just funny, but really deep too) Skip Beat (I love the story idea that the main character has such a strong sense of self and never gives up in even the worst situations. A truly admirable story of a character who fights for what she believes in, even if the reasons for what she's doing is skewed most of the time. And you can really tell that the author has thought this whole story out as things are slowly revealed.) the Wallflower/Yamato Nadeshiki Shichi Henge (hilarious, and the story never gets old.) Beauty Pop (where else is there a hero of the story with a personality like Kiri? Plus, Naru Naru is really funny. Case Closed/Detective Conan (funny and odd- I love Conan and watching Detective Moore try to solve cases. Rachel is pretty cool too. She can definitely take care of herself, but she's not all macho- the ideal girfrend for a detective, I think.) Heaven! (funny and love the author's previous work (Girl Got Game). You can see some parallels to her artwork, which is definitely unique, and the characters still do some unexpected things, which keeps it interesting. Plus, a talking stuffed monkey is funny.) Penguin Revolution (you can tell that it was made by the same person who created "Land of the Blindfolded". and the main character is great. she's a bit odd, but then again, her relationship with the guy she's with is too- I've never seen two people act like they do, and they really cheer each other on and watch out for one another.) Bitter Virgin (a sad but great story) Unbalance x Unbalance (well, for one, the main character male is very interesting and unique. I like how he can act so childish but still be so mature.) Vampire Game (funny and touching at the same time. Conspiracy and a princess that both touches the hearts of the other characters and never quits when it counts- an ideal ruler. Plus, I like Duzzie (Duzelle).) Hands Off! (a great platonic guy relationship that still manages to be deep even if one of the guys doesn't realize it. i thought the ending was sad, though, because of what it meant for the other guy. the poor kids went through so much together.) Wish (really cute, nice plot, definitely a Clamp work) Nightwalker Pita Ten (a sad story in parts, but a truly great one. In whole, it's like one of those great classics, like "Where the Red Fern Grows", which was also both sad and great.) Miracle Girls (the idea of siblings who are both so close and that share such an extraordinary gift is great) Yurara The Devil Within Hellsing (who doesn't love Alucard? some of the people are strange, but everyone is really good, in their own roles and ways) Descendants of Darkness (a hilarious idea of what afterlife could be like, even if there is some tragedy in it. it's great, and the two main characters are really close and trust and rely on each other) Pet Shop of Horrors (Count D and Leon together are so funny. plus, the morals and stories are all very interesting) xxxHolic (funny main characters and I love the superstitious stories that are all based around myths and stuff.) Alice 19th (because I believe that words really do have power.) Chrono Chrusade (a sad ending but a beautiful friendship.) From Far Away (the only story that I know where the main character is in another world and it's actually like she's in another world, from a different landscape to a different language. it's more realistic like that, and very insteresting.) Fruits Basket (because it's alternately funny and sad, but always good, and though the main character seems a bit slow, she really understands them, or tries her best, and somehow always knows just what to say and do to make everyone feel better.) Land of the Blindfolded (the idea of two people who met and fall in love immediately, and everything's just about perfect for them and they understand each other. And it's not over the top romantic or anything either. the love that everyone always wishes for.) Othello (the idea of the relationship between the three characters Nana, Yaya, and Moriyama is really interesting and touching. and the thought that within very meek girl is someone strong, waiting to some out and defend what she really thinks and feels for the world to see.) Mai the Psychic Girl (not sure if it's classified as a manga, but it's definitely a comic that I like) Samurai Girl/Real Bout High School (a girl who is so strong and never wants to give up her dream. Plus, I love the manga ending, and the fight scenes are realistic with only a slight leeway for manga-ish techniques.) HunterxHunter (Gon is a really unique kid. it reminds me a bit of Goku from Dragon Ball, but it's still really different, and so are the other characters and the storyline.) Black Cat (the idea of such a good shooter is an amazing concept. and he's so cat-like) Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z (this story about one guy who holds the whole worlds' fate in his hands and never gives up is the best. And the fact that every one of his friends rely and trust him so much, and that everyone is wiling to protect the Earth and their loved ones is great. Poweful, in more ways than one. And it still manages to ahve a lot of humor in it.) Girl Got Game (crossdressing romance at it's best and most hilarious.) Get Backers (odd but captivating in its own way) Tokyo Crazy Paradise (the girl isn't girly and actually acts completely like a guy, so the idea of her crossdressing and getting away with it is completely believable. and how Ruiji acts around her and with concerns to her (ex. trying to sneak into her bed) while trying at the same time to act cool and everything is just too funny. plus, she can beat him up, which is new, and it has an undertone of seriousness that slowly develops) Beauty is the Beast (both main characters are equally weird, and though they are in a way drawn to each other, the idea of them being together is so odd because they're both really strange and different. but you still can't help but root for them to be a couple, and all the other characters seem to think that there's something between them, even if neither character seems to realize it (though for different reasons, each seems to always be off in their own little world- worlds that just seem to keep intersecting, like it was kinda meant to be).) Beast Master (the guy is odd, but really nice. I can't help but love a character who is misunderstood and still manages to be so kind- amazingly kindhearted. And the girl always trys to be by his side and really understands him as best as she can. Another great relationship story.) The Day of Revolutions (another just really funny and ridiculous story. whose mother woudl demand that he be a girl and have to suffer through all that? and the idea that he's treated so differently and all, especially by his friends- it's just a great laugh. poor boy.) Shugo Chara (a boy who really acts like a cat and a girl who wants to be herself, even though she's not yet sure who she is. a deep concept, but a very playful story, and the main character, while on the good side, is fighting for a 'king' who wants world domination and alongside people who are doing it just for fun, yet still serious about it. typical manga wierdness, but I like the progression of the story. And I really enjoy following Ikuto's actions and trying to figure out what he's thinking. Plus, he and Amu's interactions are just always so interesting. There seems to be an inate chemistry of some kind with them that keeps drawing them together, even though they're supposed to be on opposite sides.) Angel Diary (you can tell it's from the same as "Demon Diary", but the concept and everything is completely different- the drawings just look similar. The idea that one person is thrown into a role that she didn't want, and still manages to find support and even two suitors, and that her planned out fate is actually supposed to be spent with someone that she hadn't anticipated and actually likes, and that she falls in love despite everything, is really kind of amazing. And she's not just a princess who sits back either- she can fight. Small but strong. I love characters like that. Also, it's another crossdressing story with a different twist than usual- she was actually supposed to be a guy!) SOME OF MY FAVORITE CHARACTERS AND WHY: Yaya, Nana, and Moriyama from "Othello" (Yaya's so nice and she really does try. She's fragile but not bad in anyway- really and honestly pure. Nana's so strong (in every sense of the word), takes things as it is, and is not afraid to be honest. Moriyama honestly cares about Yaya's feelings and is considerate and understanding and keeps her secrets.) Uzaki from "Heaven!" (you really gotta feel sorry for the position he's in and he IS a very nice person.) Umeda from "Hana-Kimi" (for some reason, I've grown fond of the gay doctor. He listens to Mizuki rant and tries to help her when he can, and even worries about her. Plus, he's really funny to watch sometimes (like dressing up in the bikini in volume 2).) Kyoko from "Skip Beat!" (she's strong willed and tries her best at everything. She seems mellow at times, but she doesn't let anyone push her around and has an admirable personality. I really look up to her character, and she has some real talent too.) Sunako and Kyohei from "the Wallflower" (though Sunkao's really funny and it's part of the reason I like her, she also's really kind and I can relate to her wanting to live a life away from everyone and all life's normal worries about looks and fashion. She goes out of her way to help and is not afraid to be herself at all times. Kyohei's strong and though he can't do half the things Sunkao can, he tries his hardest and truly does look at her as an equal and as a girl, despite no one else seeing her that way. One of this things that I like the most about him is that he doesn't let the fact that Sunako female hinder his judgement- he doesn't pull any punches and let's her do as she wants.) Eclipse and Raenef from "Demon Diary" (I seem to like both pretty equally here. Eclipse really has some funny and caring moments, and he always looks after Raenef. Raenef tries his best and most of all, he succeeds in it in the end. He shows everyone that he's not just a pretty face with a not-much-used brain, and that he can do more than pull his weight around.) Tsukasa and Tsukoshi from "Hana YoriDango/Boys Over Flowers" (both are equally stubborn and pig-headed (and although most people would say that that's the same thing, I disagree), and Tsukasa's a bit impulsive and off the deep end, but they are pretty good people and make a pretty good couple) Tsukasa and Ruiji from "Tokyo Crazy Paradise" (the two of them are just too funny together. I can't believe she could be so dense about the fact that he liked her when he implied it with everything he did. and he's so sneaky yet open about trying to be with her, despite trying to be a real tough guy) (based on if anyone likes the idea enough to send me a message. if not, I'll probably still out them up in due time, if I can) MY POSSIBLE FUTURE FANFICTIONS: Hana-Kimi; Not Gay!- When Umeda's heart skips a beat at a smile of Mizuki's, he learns that he's not gay, but bi. Now he's chasing her, just like the others (though in a more subtle way than Nakatsu), and chaos has, as always, escalated. No particular pairings, I don't think. My Girlfriend and I- Sano and his girlfriend Mizuki want to go to the same school. So they go to the only place that none of his female fans can hurt them- an all boy's school. Ranma 1/2; The Trip to America- Ranma and Akane decide to go to America to escape the craziness of Nermia and Japan, but the craziness follows them there! (including Shampoo, Mousse, Kodachi, Kuno, Happosai, and both the Tendo's and Saotomes) Ranma and Akane pairing. The Wallflower/Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge/Perfect Girl Evolution; The Attack of the Fangirls is Only the Beginning- It's a normal day, when a storm and earthquake somehow create a rift in two parallel worlds, spilling out into the mansion the Queen of Darkness and her ever faithful Dark Knight- exact replicas of Sunako and Kyohei! I Sometimes Love You- When everyone (Ranmaru, Kyohei, Takemaga, Noi, Yuki, and Sunako) gets turned into the real life version of their Halloween costumes, Sunako gets turned into a vampire. If they don't find the cure by the deadline, they'll stay that way forever, which, for Sunako, means that she’d have to suck the blood out of people, which requires actually touching them. However, their first task, before even finding the cure, is actually getting her to drink their blood before she dies of starvation, which for her means putting her lips on another human being. W Juliet; Star Crossed Lovers- What if Makoto really WAS a girl? Inu-Yasha; Kagme's Friends and the Secret Revealed- Somehow, Kagome's three friends end up in the feudal era where they learn the real reason that she has been out of school. And despite how they acted around Inuyasha initially (in the manga and anime), after they get attacked by demons upon their arrival and learn that Inuyasha himself is a demon, they hate him with a passion and grow a dislike for any non-humans, causing endless problems for Kagome and the others. Present Day Prejudice- When a present day monk with a deep hatred for demons believes that Inuyasha has possessed Kagome, the two must face off against him to keep Inuyasha from being purified. plan on being a oneshot. An Inuyasha Parody- Switch Inuyasha and Kagome's positions so that Inuyasha, who lives near a shrine, falls into a well and gets transported to the feudal era, where he meets the half-demon Kagome. note: they're personalities will probably stay with the respective persons, just to make it more interesting, and so I don't go too OOC. All Over Again- When Kagome in present day Japan senses something wrong through the well, she immediately goes to return to her friends, only to discover when she comes out the other side that she has returned back to when Inuyasha was still pinned to the God Tree, before she had appeared in the feudal era. MY STUFF: Some of my favorite things said from manga: “”It’s not for me,” “It’s impossible”… Those are things you can say only when you’ve tried everything you can. Did you… do everything?” “No…” “Is there… only one way to get to where you want to go?” “Right. If there are no roads you can walk… break down… the walls!”- Kyoko and Taisho from Skip Beat! volume 2 ( What I like about Skip Beat!: From volume 1, it was well thought out and interesting. The characters never got boring, and all of them are interesting in their own way The plot still manages to have unexpected twists that surprise readers, even in the later volumes when you think you have everything, including the author's style, figured out. The author always manages to play something out differently than expected, and make situations and events out of, what seem to be, thin air. The artworkhasn't gotten lazy or changed for the worst, even after so many volumes. The main character is different from any other main character, male or female, that I've ever read about, and her goals, motivations, reasons, and logic are completely different as well. ) -as you can tell, I really like Skip Beat!. I only follow the English published volumes as they come out, and don't read them until I've bought them, so that I can be sure to collect all the volumes. I have adamently followed the series from the first volume, when it first came out in America on our shelves (which is unusual for me, because I normally don't notice or get into series until later, and I tend to overlook a lot of series when I first see them). I plan to follow the series up until the end, so please don't spoil it for me. I hate spoliers, unless I've given up on finishing a series. "It's your perogative to be happy, but... don't you dare laugh at me. I'm serious. Don't you dare laugh... at the love that I've worked so hard at!"-from a short story labeled Real Storm, which is in volume 1 of Matsuri Hino's Captive Hearts MY CURRENT TALK: Please be patient. I'm so slow with updates, I know. I'm sorry. So if I haven't replied to you yet, chill. I'm doing all I can. Also, if I put your story on as alert, just to let you know I have about 100+ stories on alert, and I get, like, 11 stories everyday alerted on my e-mail address, so if I haven't reviewed your chapter yet, never fear. I should by about 3-5 days from it's posting, unless I'm seriously behind and if that's the case, I apoligize and I will eventually get to it. Plus, my e-mail also gets mail from actual people, so I'm not just being lazy. Oh, and my life doesn't revolve around the computer 24/7. Maybe 20/7, or so, but I like youtube and anime too. I'm currently on Hellsing and Pretear and Vampire Princess Miyu and Ranma 1/2 and... you get the idea. =) So just be patient, okay? I don't hate you or your story, or like it less than any other person's story that I have on my alert list. If I did, I wouldn't have the story on alert, or my reviews would be a constant flame on every little detail and part, whether it was actually good or not or had errors or not, etc. Yeah, if I hated you, you'd know it. Believe me. Or, at least, I'd hope you'd know it. I'd probably post it somewhere here. You're going to look and see if your name's somewhere in my profile now, won't you? Okay, have fun. Make sure to look between the words. =) Kidding. I didn't post that I hated anyone. I don't. I can't believe I already have 10 stories posted (even if only what, 4, are complete). Yay! Supposibly, the author of the "Descendants of Darkness/ Yami no Matsuei" manga began working on the series again. Does anyone happen to know if this is true and, if so, when the 12th volume is supposed to appear in America? (supposedly, the author had either an illness or an injured hand) I go "Skip Beat!" volume 19!! It's amazing!! | |||||||||
