Author has written 12 stories for Halo, and Devil May Cry. I have playlists, "soundtracks", for some of my fics now. I have a Facebook, in case anyone wants to add me as a friend. My name on there is Stephen Strong, from Sedgwick, Maine. And even if you can't find me then, just search my other email "Spogger1@yahoo.com". Also a MySpace if that's easier. About the author Name: Stephen Strong Location: Maine (eventually I'll be living in Truth Or Consequences, New Mexico for a few months; being eighteen has its perks as well) Age: 18 Sex: Male So, I've been on this site for a while, but over that time I've deleted several stories that failed massivley IMO, as most things do from our newb days. But now I've got several stories I'm very happy with. What can I say that improved of my past newb stories? Everything, basically. (you can detect some newbishness in Halo 4: Vicarious War, and My Son The Heretic, but stories before that were terrible). Note: I am defiant of the official canon of the Sangheili (Elites) culture in Halo, and I will rarely ever follow it (e.g. the "new" naming structure, and how they would never get medical help because they would consider it a "dishonor to their blood". They're apparently superstitious of their blood, believing it to be their warrior's essence. You can find the information at Halopedia, under the Sangheili article). I will occasionally follow it accurately (not the new naming structure, and it having to do with the states they live in, that's just ridiculous and confusing), but I usually alter the original to my own form, or I just make up my own, which I enjoy doing, hits my creative side. That's all I need to say, because I know there's people willing to correct me, which I appreciate, but since I follow my own philosiphies of canon, I don't need the help. I am fully aware of the accurate canon. Update 11/12/09: I just noticed that all three one-shots "The Nurse Who Loved Me", "He Delivers", and "Terminal" end in suicide. One reviewer commented on how I write those stories like an ancient Greek tragedy artist, which I guess is partially true. In "Nurse", it was a man who had a terminal disease, and was going to die anyway; basically euthanasia; personally I believe in it if someone does not want to live in pain over a horrible disease such as cancer, but I'm not hear the discuss something like that. In "He Delivers" the person who committed suicide was simply...troubled, to make an understatement, but to generally just show what was with the character without revealing too much. Same with Terminal. The theme was, death leads to more death. Someone significant in the character's lives were lost, and they couldn't bear the pain, and ended up "joining them" or "returning to them", and "will meet them again someday". The way people deal with pain has always fascinated me, and I sympathize to people who commit/want to commit suicide. I don't endorse suicide, god no, but I don't object against it either...in most cases. It's easier for us people who have something to live for to say "Don't do it", as opposed to someone who, literally, has nothing to live for anymore. We don't feel their pain. If their entire family is wiped out; or that they have this horrible, killer disease which is causing massive amounts of pain that cannot be ignored by the first or second party, or even the third party. Heh, my ideas would be deemed "dangerous" by some people, but I guess that's the price we have to pay for individuality and free-thought. Ti Amo What I'm happiest with now is my Ti Amo series (currently, date August 25th, 2009; "Ti Amo" is the only story of the "Ti Amo Series" released). I have several ideas to be released soon enough. The most prominent, the conclusion of the main Ti Amo story. You see the original Ti Amo doesn't have a "real" ending, rather, something drastic happens to a character, then that character decides to go on his/her own for a while, and winds up meeting a new person on his/her travels, and they strike up a conversation, which soon comes up with the new person telling his life story. Que the end of Ti Amo, then its semi-sequel, which details the new character's life; and eventually leads back to the present in the Ti Amo universe, and the final conclusion(s). Ti Amo: Silent Hill Parallel: Currently in draft, is an alternate reality short story of Ti Amo, where Stone and Sedena find themselves trapped in the demonic town of Silent Hill. Since the Silent Hill games were based off the main character's past, this story will reveal Stone's dark past in full light (of course, some of it has to be revealed in the original Ti Amo, so when a certain revelation comes to light in Ti Amo, I will then announce the release of Ti Amo: Silent Hill Parallel.) Ti Amo: Verno's Story: In Ti Amo I briefly mentioned a Sangheili musical artist that had been murdered by a Covenant believer (Chapter 22, in the begining), but he actually turns out to be alive. Verno was taken to the hospital after the incident, where they revived him, though he was badly injured, crippled. When he comes to, he tells the doctor he wants to feign death, to protect him and his family (wife and son) from further attacks. The story details his struggle of living in secrecy, dealing with his handicap (he loses mobility in all limbs, though he recovers his arms, he will be wheel chair bound for life), and stresses his family members endure to help him. It has nothing to do with any of the original Ti Amo OCs, and is a side story, with the basic premise and moral of Ti Amo. I have one more Ti Amo short story idea in my head, not yet drafted, but is so sensetive plot wise I can't release the idea yet. Though soon enough, once plot juiciness flows from the text to your eyes in Ti Amo, I will release details. My Son The Heretic 08/25/09: Many people have been concerned of the path MSH is taking, what with the lack of updates lately. Well, to be honest, it won't be worked on for a long time. I'll keep trying, see if inspiration comes to me to finish it, but I'm not sure. I do have a semi-sequel and full sequel in mind, the semi-sequel a series of short stories after MSH, and leading to the sequel. And even those are on thin ice. I don't want to disapoint fans of MSH, and I always didn't like it when people left stories unfinished, but this one is just so blind to me I can't make a definite conclusion. Noob sides: it contains review whoring, which I'm actually ashamed of now. It only shows petulance. The Chiefology Crusade Well what to say on this? It's a crossover of South Park and Halo. Not the whole "the kids are sucked into the Haloverse zomg!", but rather the game is just a game to them, but due to many crazy situations, revolving around Cartman, the Haloverse eventually comes to Earth (or partway). Now, like an actual SP episode, I'll be mercilessly bashing everything I can think of in this story, whether it's a popular videogame franchise, or a popular machinimator ;) The Nurse Who Loved Me This story was based off a cover song by "A Perfect Circle" of the same name (originally written by "Failure"), and since I typed out the whole thing in one night in a mad rush, it's riddled with typos and other errors, I have yet to fix that -_- The reason why it's so full of typos (or was as soon as I export and replace the chapter /insert date here/), is because, well as I said before, I typed in a mad rush in one night. It must have taken atleast two to three hours, I was up till eleven if I remember correctly. Anyway, I liked writing it, it was a nice exercise, and I got the use the song I was addicted to at the time XD Forerunning (Fallout 3 crossover) I'm not sure of this story, I had a good spark when I first wrote it, but it just fizzled out as quickly as it came. Ah the curse that comes with the blessing of being a writer -_- It's still a story I have in my mind somewhat and I may return to it, but at this rate I'm not sure. Halo: Combat Dissolved (RvB characters based in Halo trilogy) I have so many ideas for this I can guarantee its completion, it's just I randomly find the inspiration to write it, well, randomly. I can have it on hiatus for two months, then write two new chapters in less than a five-day week. So many ideas, and it will go through all three games. The first few chapters are newbish, very much, and I actually get queasy when I go back and read them, but I'm more proud of later chapters. RvB: Eragon Evolved Title says it all, Red vs. Blue finds itself in Alagaesia. This one I'm a little of unsure of as well. I obviously can't go through every little detail of every book, so I'll have to skip some scenes. But I'm generally finding random inspiration for this story like I do with Combat Dissolved. I have to say, I like the jokes in this one a little more than the ones in Combat Dissolved. Executed more properly. Halo 4: Vicarious War First of all, I'll be honest. At the time of its release, I was addicted to the song "Vicarious" by progressive metal band Tool, and wanted an excuse to put it in a story title, so this came up. It's evolved into a huge, confusing crossover, and I'm not really sure where this is headed either. I do have huge ideas (one for a shaky sequel), but I have yet to find inspiration to continue writing them. I might eventually finish it, but again, not sure. He Delivers A one-and-a-half shot I wrote down in the middle of the night, because I couldn't get the idea out of my head, and I knew if I only woke up to finish it the next day, it wouldn't be the same as fresh. So yeah, sad story. Something to make people think as well. Terminal One shot I came up with randomly when I just woke up one morning. I was thinking about how in official Sangheili culture, doctors are viewed as scum. ANd I thought "there's bound to be some doctor brave enough to make a stand against the warriors' ignorance". A scene with a doctor extracting blood of one Sangheili patient and a visitor, pretending to annoy them, came to my head. But when he finished, he injected the blood of the patient's into the visitor's neck, then performed the same to the patient. That scene is featured in the story, but there's more plot to it than just a disgruntled doctor tired of abuse and heckling. That is a factor, but there's more. When he was...scheduled to perform at a peace rally...a gunman came into his house and shot him down. Two days later he walked out on that stage...and sang. Somebody asked him...'why?'. He said 'the people...who are trying to make this world worse...are not taking a day off. How can I...light up the darkness?" -Will Smith as 'Robert Neville' in I Am Legend “This is what you shall do: Love the earth, and sun, and the animals, despise riches, give alms to everyone that asks, stand up for the stupid and crazy, devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants, argue not concerning God, have patience and indulgence toward the people, take off your hat to nothing known or unknown.” -Walt Whitman, 1819—1892 “What's wrong with our children?—adults telling children to be honest while lying and cheating. Adults telling children not to be violent while marketing and glorifying violence...I believe that adult hypocrisy is the biggest problem children face in America.” -Marian Wright Edelman 1939— “The greatest bulwark of capitalism is militarism.” -Emma Goldman, 1869—1940 “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.” -Eleanor Roosevelt, 1884—1962 “Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. The world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hope of its children...This is not a way of life at all, in any true sense. Under the cloud of threatening war, it is humanity hanging from a cross.” -Dwight Eisenhower, military leader, president of the United States, 1890—1969 “The best way to get the sons of bitches is to make people laugh at them.” -Molly Ivins, 1944— “The opposite of courage is not cowardice, it is conformity. Even a dead fish can go with the flow.” -Jim Hightower, 1943— “I really do think that if for one week in the United States we saw the true face of war, we saw people's limbs sheared off, we saw kids blown apart, for one week, war would be eradicated. Instead, what we see in the U.S. Media is the video war game. Our mission is to make dissent commonplace in America.” -Amy Goodman, 1957— "During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act." -George Orwell "I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones." -Albert Einstein "I object to violence because when it appears to do good, the good is only temporary; the evil it does is permanent." -Mahatma Gandhi "It is said that power corrupts, but actually it's more true that power attracts the corruptible. The sane are usually attracted by other things than power." -David Brin "It's ironic that in your childhood there's things that influence the choices you make, the places you go, what you dislike or what you gravitate towards; and it's usually those kind of things are determined by the people closest to you. They play a big role in how you turn out, that's the thing that's least looked at because you don't see that as being an influence, you look at the outside sources. Like when I was ten I was in a car accident and so I've always had this limp and always felt this way about driving; although it might go beyond that, it might be something that has to do with a relative. It's just those kind of fear based reactions are how you deal with people, any time you covet those hidden motivations. This particular song ('Judith' by A Perfect Circle) brought out those coveted dynamics, exposed them, you can stare at them...letting it go." -Maynard James Keenan, lead singer and song writer of A Perfect Circle, Tool, and Puscifer. “A good friend of ours said that if the same laws were applied to U.S. presidents as were applied to the Nazis after World War Two that every single one of them, every last rich white one of them from Truman on would have been hung to death and shot - and this current administration is no exception. They should be hung, and tried, and shot. As any war criminal should be. But the challenges that we face, they go way beyond administrations, way beyond elections, way beyond every four years of pulling levers, way beyond that. Because this whole rotten system has become so vicious and cruel that in order to sustain itself, it needs to destroy entire countries and profit from their reconstruction in order to survive - and that's not a system that changes every four years, it's a system that we have to break down, generation after generation after generation after generation after generation... Wake up.” -Zack de la Rocha, singer for Rage Against the Machine, during live performance of 'Wake Up' Fav funny quotes "A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky animals." -Tommy Lee Jones as 'Agent K' from Men in Black (may not be exact) "We move forward to stay where we are." -Me, imitating George W. Bush "You're trying hard to put food on your family." -GWB "Far be it from the American president to get to decide who leads what country...I made up my mind that Saddam needs to go." -GWB "Rarely is the question asked, 'Is our children learning?" -GWB "Where wings take dream." -GWB "Well there's egg and bacon. Egg, sausage and bacon. Egg and spam. Egg, bacon, and spam. Egg, bacon, sausage and spam. Spam, bacon, sausage and spam. Spam, eggs, spam, spam, sausage and spam. Spam, spam, spam, egg and spam. Spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, baked beans, spam, spam, and spam." -cook in the Monty Python "Spam" Skit. "I have three kids and no money. Why can't I have no kids and three money?" -Homer Simpson "Doh!" Homer Simpson "You know me. Occasionally I''ll be corky...I'll-be-corky? Albuquerque!" -Homer Simpson "I can't believe how easy it is to get cigarettes in this country!" -Homer Simpson while putting a hand gun in his coat, revealing a submachine gun and some ammo inside. "Smokey, this is not 'Nam, this is bowling, there are rules." John Goodman as 'Walter' in The Big Lebowski (After trying a deep fried banana) "The monkeys must never find out." Bill Doutrive in King of the Hill "Who Would Jesus Bomb?" -the sticker on my laptop lid "Were all those real words? Cause I made up a word the other day, 'Farniserus', I still don't know what it means yet." -Randy Hicky of My Name is Earl Other random quotes "I say to mankind, Be not curious about God. For I, who am curious about each, am not curious about God - I hear and behold God in every object, yet understand God not in the least." -Walt Whitman "Wisdom is not finally tested in the schools, Wisdom cannot be pass'd from one having it to another not having it, Wisdom is of the soul, is not susceptible of proof, is its own proof." -Walt Whitman "You must not know too much or be too precise or scientific about birds and trees and flowers and watercraft; a certain free-margin, and even vagueness - ignorance, credulity - helps your enjoyment of these things." -Walt Whitman "It is a fine thing to establish one's own religion in one's heart, not to be dependent on tradition and second-hand ideals. Life will seem to you, later, not a lesser, but a greater thing." -D. H. Lawrence "The opposite of the religious fanatic is not the fanatical atheist but the gentle cynic who cares not whether there is a god or not." -Eric Hoffer "I've often thought the Bible should have a disclaimer in the front saying this is fiction." -Ian McKellen "The more I study religions the more I am convinced that man never worshiped anything but himself." -Sir Richard Francis Burton "With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion." -Steven Weinberg "Shake off all the fears of servile prejudices, under which weak minds are servilely crouched. Fix reason firmly in her seat, and call on her tribunal for every fact, every opinion. Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason than that of blindfolded fear." -Thomas Jefferson "The fact that a believer is happier than a skeptic is no more to the point than the fact that a drunken man is happier than a sober one." -George Bernard Shaw "Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities." -Voltaire If you can read this message, you are blessed because over two billion people in the world cannot read at all: I cdnuolt blveiee taht I cluod aulaclty uesdnatnrd waht I was rdanieg.
