Hi! I'm Alana-Marie Atkinson. Lana's what most people tend to call me, and Atkins is less of a mouthful, hence the pen-name ;)

I'm an 18-year-old Malaysian/Eurasian girl, who loves reading, singing, and playing the guitar, and writing in my spare time. I'm a little crazy, I'm a mess of things, and I love it.

PURPOSE

I've been infatuated with the manga/anime Ranma 1/2 for almost 5 years, ever since i was an impressionable 14-year-old back in 2004. From the first time I saw it I was hooked, and spent many an hour (because we had hour specials) sitting in my parent's bedroom laughing like a mad ape watching it.

The thing I love the most about Ranma 1/2 is the relationship between Ranma and Akane. Even if they are fictional, the love they share is real to me. They are flawed, and know it. But they love each other, and despite those flaws and the crazy things they go through, always will. That's what appealed to me.

Ranma's a jerk, but he's a sweet, lovable jerk with heart :) and I've always felt a great deal of affection towards Akane; maybe it was because she reminded me so much if myself (minus the mallet) and my own insecurities and faults that I just couldn't help liking her. She's a crazy, passionate contradiction of sweet and violent, kind and aggressive, feminine and tomboy.

SO OF COURSE THEY MUST BE TOGETHER!

There really could never be any other pairing for these two. I'll be a Ranma and Akane shipper foe-evah :)

WRITING

I'd have to say my writing's developed over the two years I've spent here on fanfiction.net. I have all the other fantastic writers here to thank, really. Just going through my older fanfics make me wince a little at how bad they were; i hadn't read the manga, so there were numerous inconsistencies, and i couldn't write to save my life -_- so forgive the older ones at the bottom. They may have been submitted somewhat recently, but the last four have been written ages ago! (wince wince wince) Now I'm thankful I'm a little better, with writing and inspiration for semi-good storylines, so there are new stuff that's going to be coming out :) soon I hope. Law school's a heck of a lot of work, I've hardly any time to finish the ones I start!

But I ramble.

I've never really had the commitment to start on any epic fanfics; i usually just like the softandsweet ones that are short but leave you with a good feeling. I like those everyday moments :) So the genre of most of my ficcies are light comedy and romance. (what? so I live a little vicariously through these two.)

I'm also starting to write for other pairings (YAY ME :D) Trying a little Avatar now, because it is teh awesomesauce, so we'll just see how that works.
