The Genetic Opera, Criminal Minds, Kuroshitsuji, and Death Note. I someday hope to be a writer, so any advice anyone has to offer is appreciated. I feel that criticism is essential when it comes to writing and I like honest critiques so feel free to be as harsh as you want when reviewing. It won't hurt my feelings if you say something negative about what you read. If you feel something needs improvement, I'd be glad to hear it. After all, you can't improve if you don't know anything is wrong. I will review everything I read. Now I give honest criticism when reviewing. I try not to give vague praise; if something about your story is good I will praise you and tell you why it is good. If something seriously needs improvement, I'm going to tell you. Just a brief something about my stories. I usually rate them a little higher than they need to be, mostly T's when they could fall under K plus, but that is just to be on the safe side. I'm just saying this so there won't be any disappointment. I hope you enjoy the stories. Stories I'm Most Proud Of: I have written my fair share of bad stories and some that are mediocre, but there are some I favor over others. Here are the list of my favorites. 1) The Price of Power (Power Rangers) Of all the stories I've written this is the one I'm most proud of. I felt like showing a different side to two of my favorite characters (Jason and Skull) by having them wrestle with their own demons. The premise of the story is Serean (an OC, an ancient witch who was bound because of her evil ways) promises Jason and Skull their greatest desires if they serve her. What they do not know is that while Serean keeps true to her word, the price of these new gifts include both their sanity and everything on Earth they once held dear. The genre is a mix of fantasy and psychological thriller. I am most proud of this story and, while it is weird, I feel it helped me branch out to dive deeper into the horror/fantasy realm. I found that I like this style and this is the kind of writing I want to use in the original story I am working on. Any feedback anyone has to offer is much appreciated. 2) A Voice So Sweet (Labyrinth) This story was originally supposed to be a light-hearted tale of Jareth assisting Sarah in her goals to improve her singing so she could make the school musical. By the time I got to the seventh chapter the story made a sharp turn into the realm of fantasy. (It seems every story I write ends up becoming a horror or fantasy story.) While it did make that dramatic turn, I am proud of the way it is playing out. What more I am grateful to have such faithful readers and reviewers on this story. To everyone who has given me feedback, you are all awesome people and I am eternally grateful. 3) Ghost Story (Static Shock) Before I say anything about this, I will continue with this story after I post the next chapter to A Voice So Sweet. I wanted to wait until it was closer to Halloween before I updated again. The story begins when Virgil accidentally kills Talon in a battle. The days following he notices a hooded figure watching his every move. Eventually he starts to see what he believes to be the ghost of Talon. Throughout the story he wonders if he is truly seeing a ghost or if it is merely the guilt making him suffer. As far as horror stories go (well more like thriller/suspense) I am most proud of this one. I feel this is my scariest and one of my darkest stories to date. My goal is to play with the reader's mind the same way the events are taking their toll on the protagonist's mind. If you read this one please tell me if this story is plenty scary enough or if I need to raise the bar. The Santa Carla Chronicles 1) The Only Way- This is the story of how Max turned David. After the earthquake David wakes up with amnesia. He pieces together the events of the fateful night and realizes what Max had to do in order to ensure his survival. 2) Curtis (in-progress)- This was originally a side story to Runaway. It's the story of Max's second son who becomes so dangerous that he orders David to execute him. 3) Runaway- Marco is fed up with being the youngest and having to follow David's demands. After being humiliated and almost suffering physical consequences Marco runs away. Being so young he makes fatal mistakes which catches the attention of California authorities who ultimately hire the most deadly of vampire assassins. David and his brothers must find Marco before the police or the slayer does, or before Max is forced to ask David to execute Marco as he did with Curtis. 4) The Incident- A few days before the final events in the movie. Two skilled slayers nearly kill several of the brothers which result in David seeking Max's help. The occurrances raises questions about Lucy and Max's relationship. This story is told through the eyes of three characters. | |||||||
