Hi everyone! Here's an update on everything that's going on right now in the life of Kari. I will be posting chapter 39 of "Save Me From Insanity" shortly. I sent it off to my beta-reader and am hoping to have it posted before I move off to college. I'm sorry that it has taken me so long to chapter 39 up. Honestly, I had intended the chapter up over a week ago. As some of you may (or may not) already know, I have been having early symptoms of carpol tunnel syndrome. About two weeks ago, it was so bad that I couldn't even move a single muscle in my hand without feeling a bunch of pain. I had to rest it up, so I basically refrained from writing, typing, and playing video games for two weeks (although every now and then I would type up some of the chapter with just using my left hand, since I haven't been having any pain in that wrist). But anyway, it's been getting a lot better, so I am able to do a little bit of typing a day. -

And speaking of college, I start my first year next week (Friday, August 21st). I'm really excited, but also a little sad because that means my updates are going to be even lesser than what they had been in the past. I really want to do my best for my first semester, so I'm going to have to cut back on the writing just a little bit. But have no fear! I will write whenever the opportunity presents itself and I will continue to post as often as I am able to.

Stories in Progress:

Save Me from Insanity --> My updates are going to be rather slow, due to college starting up. I will do my best to post at LEAST 1 chapter every month. Don't hold me to that though, because I plan on working while I'm in school as well, so I don't know how much free time I'll have. Also, I'm thinking that I'll be bringing the story to an end pretty soon as well. I don't want to drag it out more than necessary. So, I'm thinking that around Chapter 45, I'll be putting an ending to this story that I have enjoyed writing SOOOOO much. I hope not to disappoint too many people with ending it there, but if I drag the story out much further than that, it will be nothing but pointless rambling and will completely kill the original plot of the story. I might, however, make, one or two oneshots, depending on if I feel that it would the original story any justice, and if I'm not too busy with school, work, and my other story idea.

Make Me Whole --> Currently, I've put this story on hold. Personally, I have lost all interest in it and I feel that I have just dragged it out more than I should have. I feel that I should have ended it sometime after Gaara and Danielle began their intimate relationship. If I do make another chapter, which I'm not sure will happen or not, it will be the last one for the story. I really just want to put an end to it and maybe, when I'm brave enough and not so lazy, go back and fix it up.

NEW STORY IDEA:

Modern Warfare; Naruto Style (title is likely to change) --> Most of my stories have been Gaara x OC stories (about 99 percent...lol), and they have been rather fluffy and somewhat dramatic in one way or another. I'm hoping to change that a bit with this next story idea I have. It will be a Neji x OC story. Yes, there will probably be a little bit of romance, but not the fluff that is usually in my other stories. Any relationship between Neji and the OC will be rather complex. Anyway, enough with my rambling and on with what the story will entail!

Modern Warfare is intended to be an action/adventure type of story. Like the current title kind of suggests, the characters of Naruto are no longer ninjas, but are instead soldiers (modern day soldiers). I'm bending the militia rules a bit so that it sticks to the same "structure" as the ninja world (in a sense anyway). The story will mostly revolve around Neji (he being the primary character) and eventually will link together with my OC, Erika (the secondary character). Neji is trying to become a sniper for the special forces. He is assigned to be a spotter for Erika, whom is already a sniper. And then the story will go on from there. (Yes, I am aware that women aren't allowed to be in the spec. forces or a sniper, for that matter, in the USA. But since, in the original series, women are able to become part of the ANBU Black Ops, I'm making it so that women are able to be in the spec. forces). I also plan on incorporating a bunch of other characters from the series into this. Like I'm planning on giving Naruto and Sasuke a chapter to themselves and whatnot. It sounds kind of confusing right now (well... maybe to you all) but I have a good idea of how I'm going to make sthis all work. Plus, I'm purposefully leaving out any major plot details so that this idea of mine will stay original (and because I'd probably just be confusing everyone even more).

ALSO!! Even though I have a lot of this already planned out, I would really be appreciative if someone would be willing to lend me a hand on this. I would need someone who is military savvy (I know I'm crossing the line on some things, but I would still like to work with someone who is at least familiar with the usage of military terms). If it is at all possible, it would be helpful if this person had some knowledge of how sniper teams work and the type of lingo they use while on missions. I'm reading up on that at the moment. This person would basically: read the chapters I write and point out any mistakes with the military terms I use, makes suggestions on how to make the chapter better (more realistic), warn me if I start reverting back to my old habits (that would be when I start making things sappy and fluffy again), and if I'm taking things way out of proportion. I'd also like to be able to discuss things with this person and run my ideas by them, so I would need to be able to have contact with this person (instant messenger would be the most convenient, but email is fine as well). That sounds like a lot to ask for, and those are just qualities that I would like someone to have, not necessarily NEED. The biggest thing is that I would like someone that is more familiar with the ropes of the military and/or the ropes of a sniper team. If you are interested, send me a PM and let me know. :)
