Damn it. They lost. (Netherlands - Russia). This sucks. This really sucks.
That was what I thought three seconds after we lost. No semi final this year. No European Cup this year. No Edwin van der Sar next year. Yes, you're right. He's retiring. The best damn goalkeeper in Europe is retiring. I'm really happy he was in good shape this match against Russia, because the whole team sucked that day, expect for de Jong. But a team with eleven players can't possibly lean on just two players. So, now we were kicked out the tournament, I've decided to make a little something for my favourite players.
Our goalkeeper, Edwin van der Sar: He's the best. Too bad he's retiring, but I can totally understand that, I wouldn't want to play soccer until I was 50. Not that he's 50 though...xD. I am really thankful that he is such a damn good goalie. I mean, Russia was incredibly good, but you saved us for losing the match with 6 - 1.
Our defender, Khalid Bouhlarouz: If someone knows how to make a good tackle, he is it. One of the best defenders in my time :P. I am really sorry for him because of the death of his daughter, and it was a real shock for me he did want to play the quarterfinal against Russia, because this was a really hard hit in the face for him. And not only for him, for the whole team. Maybe that's the reason why they didn't play very well. I'll just shut up. I'm not blaming anyone, you've given all you had that day. I wished I could do that to.
Our attacker, Dirk Kuyt: The Katwijker! :) Funny, how I thought that one of the Russian players actually looked like him. I hope he's coming back to Feyenoord once. He's our golden goalmaker!
Our other attacker, Robin van Persie: It's a shame he got on the news for something I believe he didn't do. He's really good, and I'm proud of the Dutch player to play in the Arsenal shirt. You can stand with four defenders, if he's in good shape he can play you away with ease and then score.
Our goalie, Henk Timmer: I know you didn't play one match in the European Championship, but you play with Feyenoord and that is already a great thing.
I love international soccermatches. It makes even my friends want to watch it. Not that they like soccer. They just like to wave with the flag and go crazy each goal. I have to actually point out that we're not supposed to score in our own goal...xD. Not that we did, though. I think I like international soccer because of the nationalism. We're living in 'the 20th century, unable to go on a war or something. That's why people often call soccer a war. It's a feeling of 'belonging together as a team'. That's the reason why we always say: 'we scored', 'we won', or even: 'we suck'.
Stupid things I've said in my life:
(while watching Netherlands - France)
'Hey, isn't that the German flag?'
'Someone must've gotten really confused.'
'Go make your homework. You're not finished yet.'
'But...homework is called homework.'
'You're funny.'
'I don't know what to say to that.'
'You're mean.'
'Thanks...?'
'Stop it!'
'Stop...in the name of love, before you break my heart...'
'Je m'appelle une bittchen German.'
'I am going to fall flat on my flat ass.'
'He has a nice ass.'
'What? I'm sorry, I can't see that far. All I see is flat.'
'I wanna go with you to the next EO Youth Day. You're funny.'
'I need to really get rid of that status.'
'I'm confused.'
'Congratulations. Now you feel what I feel everyday.'
