"The process of rewriting is enjoyable, because you're not in that existential panic when you don't have a novel at all." ~ Rose Tremain

"The Common Thread" is still making a come-back. Updated irregularly, but in chunks so you'll get more to read when it is granted new chapters. I have just finished all of my exams for this semester, so I will guilt-free be able to set more time aside to write. Yay! I also decided to update my profile with some information and as a result I just got verbal diarrhoea.

My 'verse

I have to admit that over the years of reading TMNT I can say that I'm only writing for one universe - my own. A lot of people do not like that despite the fact that ANY story any fan author makes will ultimately be their own story... Anyway, I thought I might as well write down some information about it so if you wondered what that meant - now you'll know. My starting-point for this universe is what happens within the first half of the CGI-TMNT movie. The tension within our beloved family is what fascinated me the most about it and as a result the rest of the plot is completely irrelevant. Otherwise I take in some events from the first and second movie as well as some issues/elements from the comics (Mirage as well as a short lived comic by Peter David based of the New Toon Cartoon). I don't actually take in actual events/issues, I just take in the ideas/mood from those universes so if you've read neither you shouldn't worry about it (but I do recommend the comic by Peter David).

To sum it up I'm shamelessly taking aspects of that I like into my writing and tossing those I don't like out the window without a care if they have a soft fall or not. As a result my universe is somewhat familiar, but might strike some as a little strange in the details. Michelangelo is more mature than he is depicted in the movies, and Leonardo might seem more relaxed than he is depicted... in fanon. I still think the majority of you will recognise their personality to be somewhat close to canon, with some deviations due to them being written by moi, obviously. =D My universe is also somewhat more down-to-earth at the moment, at least in the sense that it takes Ultroms, Triceratons, Winters fuckup and so on out of the picture (for now). It's not "supernatural" unfriendly, I'm just not overly fond of the Ultroms and I'd rather introduce other aspects of the Mirage 'verse on my own terms. It's also more complex in regards to the Foot, though that is just background snippets mentioned in stories and isn't overall important to the plot. Unless it irks you, then I can't offer much help.

My Rating
I have to go with an aberration of what Winnychan says on her profile (go check her up, btw) that despite of the M-rating on my stories they should be fairly work-safe. I do not write pornographic themed stories without putting up a warning and if I did I'd likely not post them here, but on adultfanfiction.net. When I started to write I had my story under the "T"-rating. However, as I kept writing I just got so worked up over whether or not this or that was within that given rating that I felt it crippled my authorship. I'm mostly marking my stories "M" so I won't have to worry about being a little too graphic in my descriptions or if I can take a story in that direction without stepping over my rating. It means my characters swear their hearts out without censorship, I can let tails be tails and dismembered limbs are... well, you get the direction I'm going here.

About Me
My online handle for the last 9 years have been "Arore", should you recognise it. =D I live in Norway, I'm 25 years old, I'm very fond of typed-smilies and I am currently taking forever to become a librarian by studying part time. I'm also holding down a job in order to make ends meet and due to working a lot in the weekend I'm deemed an unsocial critter by friends. =P I collect various known and somewhat unknown comics which I'm starting to run out of shelf space for... I try to both paint and draw, but to be honest it's been such a while that my skill in those have decline somewhat over the years. Uhm... yeah, anything else you want to know?
