I'm not really sure why anyone would be reading this, but just in case:

I'm Mountain Elements, and I do not plan to post any stories because I don't really enjoy writing. This account is for reviewing stories and for the Favorites and Alerts features.

I apologize if it seems like I flamed anyone. I try to only offer constructive criticism and not to flame anyone, but I'm not very good at being diplomatic. I also have trouble telling whether an author is writing in order to improve their writing skills, to get reviews, or just to have fun.

My suggestion to all you authors out there is to please update your profile with the status of your stories. Let your readers know if any stories are discontinued or whether they are just on hiatus because you are busy/have writer's block. It's even better to say, "I'm not sure whether I'm going to finish my stories so read them at your own risk" rather then just leaving your profile the same. Do you really want your readers wondering if you're dead?!

On that note, does anyone know what happened to Lanita Sena, Raven Dragonclaw, StarJade, fyre, neutral, and syrupjunkie? Are they ever going to finish their stories?

Question: Why isn't my story on your Favorites list, even though you seemed to really like it in your review?

No one has actually asked me this, but when I saw that my Profile page had more than 100 hits even though I haven't published any stories, I figured that some of the authors whose stories I reviewed might be wondering about it. There are two main reasons why this would happen.

The first and most important reason is that your story is ongoing. I've looked at a lot of people's Favorites to find stories to read and was surprised to see how many people have stories that are seemingly discontinued on their Favorites list. For example, "The Hunt for a Cherry Blossom" hasn't been updated since 2003, and the author hasn't updated anything since 2004. Yet, this story is still on many people's Favorites lists. Is it really still one of their Favorites if they never read the ending? Then I realized that I don't know which of the stories I like will ever be completed. After all, people change and life has unexpected turns. Who can predict who will be able to finish all their stories? I then decided to only add stories that are completed to my Favorites from that point onwards.

The second possibility, especially if your story is complete, is that I like it but not enough for it to be one of my Favorites. I probably have a link to it in the Stories folder in my email account so that I can reread it, but I want my Favorites list to be my very, very favorite stories and not just every story I like or think is good.
