I'm not just about pairings. I like good narratives, though a little side dish of romance is always yummy. The kind of fanfics I like best are the ones that emulate the canon writing styles. I don't like Mary-Sues. Also, authors who destroy/ignore canon character traits in order to push outrageous plotlines really make me mad.
A Few Notes About My Stories:
--Beka's Cat is finished. Sorry, I've had enough of it. It was amazing to write, but I don't think there's anything to add. Plus, I doubt I could manipulate the time factor any further without driving myself bonkers. But, some background trivia on the story if you're interested: 1) the story's title pays subtle hommage to Schrondinger's Cat, a physics allegory 2) most of the time-traveling logistics are inspired and adapted from the book "Time Line," 3) the last chapter contains a reference to Shakespeare.
--My favorite fanfic (of the ones I've written) is A New Home. It's complete, and probably my best writing to date.
--Kel Takes the Cake is SLOWLY falling into place, piece by piece. All things considered, I think the story is plugging along okay, but I am struggling to keep it moving.
--Puppy Love was originally going to be a single songfic about Beka/Rosto, but now I'll try just about any pairing. Updates on this anthology should be forthcoming. I'm working on Daine/Numair at the moment.
--Calypso (a POTC poem fanfic) stands alone, both its style and universe are unusual for me. It was a good exercise, but once was enough.
Things I'd like to see someday (and may get around to writing them myself)
--A story about the thief who stole Mithros's shield (mentioned briefly in TQ). I can't help but think the thief was a girl. What happened to her afterwards? What'd she do with the shield? Use it? Hide it? Is she even mortal? She's certainly gifted...where'd she learn her craft?
--Taybur, anything about him. He is one awesome character that TP neglected to fully embellish. Anyone else care to try?
--Onua/Sarge, I think they work; they both have had a really rough past, and they've been close friends for so long...
--Something about Goodwin's man.
--The full story of how Clary took down a berserker.
