My favourite shows are crime, medical or legal dramas, (All CSIs, House, ER, Shark, NCIS etc). My favourite is CSI:NY, probably as I can identify more with the city and some of its eccentricities as I lived there for nearly 3 years.
At school I never particularly liked science, but now I find it fascinating, probably as I have had close dealing with the medical profession and through further education in the last 8 years, and also my work now is related to medical research, so I have become quite intrigued, especially with DNA/genetics.
I have mostly written CSI:NY fics with Flack/OC themes, more to come. I have been writing for my own amusement for a while, but after sharing the first two with my daughter, she suggested I post them, so here you are. I have several stories complete and others in progress, but I need to convert some of them from script form to upload here, which also means I have to add more about their inner thoughts, which I find quite hard. I hope you like these.
Of my OCs I think Laura is kind of my favourite, but I don't know why, I could continue writing things for her and Flack for a while yet.
I appreciate your reviews and am open to suggestions and constructive criticism.
Just in case you are unclear here is a summary of the characters/stories and how they fit together:
CSI:NY
Coming Home - (ongoing) - First story written for FF. Features Nikki (Nicole) Palmer, an old High School friend of Flack's who returns to the city after 5 years in San Francisco. Their current friendship is on shaky ground following the aftermath of 9/11, the reason she left.
On Camera - (complete) - A bit of fun for the aftermath of "Snow Day". The brass want good publicity after the Irish Drug bust and what happened to the lab.
If you haven't read Crossed Paths, you may like to do so first before reading the summaries below as there are spoilers for things which may not be apparent for several chapters. ... You have been warned!
Crossed Paths - (complete) - The first of several in the series. Set around 6-8 months after "Charge of this Post" and introduces Laura Stevens, currently working undercover with Vice. This sees her introduction to the Crime Lab and the CSI team as her undercover partners start turning up murdered. Flack has been dating, but has managed to keep things separate from the team, ... until now.
Boxes - (complete) - The second in the Flack/Laura series - Flack and Laura move in to a new apartment together. A seemingly routine case causes problems for Laura as they plan for their future. Flack loses his badge and the team are split.
Master Plans - (complete) - The third in the Flack/Laura series - With only a short time to go to the wedding, family tensions run high and half the arrangements are cancelled. Ties up a couple of loose ends from Crossed Paths and Boxes too.
After the Party - (ongoing) - Can be read as stand alone. Originally done as a 1-shot, but the plot bunnies have struck again and another chapter or two will be added - Follows some of the other characters after Laura/Flack's wedding.
Legacy - (ongoing) - The fourth in the Flack/Laura series. Catches up with Flack and Laura around 10 months after the wedding and features elements of season 4 (especially with Danny/Reuben). This couple will not leave me alone, I keep coming up with ideas for them. I hope this will also explore some of the other characters too.
CSI:NY & BTVS
Science in the Shadows - (ongoing) - A collaboration with Open Hearts Catch Dreams. She has posted to CSI:NY and I have posted to BTVS. - Set in NYC and features Laura (set between After the Party and Legacy) and the Scoobie Gang from Sunnydale, California as strange victims turn up where science is struggling to answer the questions. This is aimed as being a bit of fun.
NCIS
In the Line of Duty - (ongoing) - Set around season 2, with Kate and no Director Shepherd. Someone from Gibbs past seeks the help of NCIS, at the time of the request they don't know he will be assigned the case. Explores another side of Gibbs and touches on his first family.
