Journal Entry 2/19/2013:

Guess what! I finally finished Starlight Chapter 3 Scientific notes! WOOOOOOT! Now I can work on Vibrations Chapter 4! I'll have the chapter posted up soon, but then I'm going to bed, and when I wake up tomorrow, I'll review the chapter once again, just to check for any discrepancies, spelling and grammatical mistakes, and the like. But it's already been reviewed the hell out of. Hopefully you guys enjoy :)

Starlight:

I'm taking too long, aren't I? This question doesn't even need to be asked. I've found some loopholes that would conflict with other events later on in the story, and rather than changing the events later on, I'm going to change some brief facts now, facts that hardly even need to be mentioned. I also have written up the scientific notes for chapter 3, but I still need to work on chapter 1 and 2... The thing is, I'm not sure what exactly to put.

The scientific notes might elude to events that will appear later down the timeline, or they might just be there for the sole purpose of adding extra information. *wink* *wink* Things are getting more flushed out, for even if I'm not writing the chapter at a certain time, I'm always thinking about the story, the future, and flushing out events and facts to create a more full and complete story.

Journal Entry 1/4/2013:

Starlight:

Just thought I'd give another progress report! I am finally in the double digits on the number of pages I have of Starlight chapter 3! Keep in mind though that so far there are two completely different scenes, one after the other, and I'm still flushing out both scenes, so no, not everything is going in order. And to add to that, I still have to go over and edit thoroughly. But to put this into perspective, Starlight chapter 2 is 20 pages long and Starlight chapter 1 is 19 pages long, so content wise, I'm about half way through!

Journal Entry 1/3/2013:

Starlight:

I think I've finally found out the issue with writing Starlight chapter 3. The whole time, I was focusing on the characters as a means to an end, things that I could use in order to complete the scenes that needed to be written before the chapter was over. I was using only logic, and looked at everything from a technical standpoint. And while it did help me add facts and make sure that I wasn't writing anything too ridiculous, it made me miss things that were actually completely illogical. Such as an enemy being pinned down and face shoved in the dirt and taking it all without a single response. It was completely out of character, but since I didn't need him to say anything to progress further, I found no fault in it at all. When I looked over my writing, I knew that something was wrong, but for the life of me I couldn't specify what was wrong with it. Basically, I viewed the characters as tools, not as living, thinking, sentient beings.

Now I know what is wrong, and even though it might take me awhile to completely break the habit, I will at least know what to look for, so progress on Starlight chapter 3 should go much faster now.

I don't know if anyone actually reads these notes, but to any who do I hope it helps you understand.

Uncommon Updates: NOT ANYMORE!!!!

Starlight:

To all of those who are waiting on a new chapter for Starlight, it is quite seriously kicking me in the butt. I'm not sure when it'll be done, but it's already been through two scraps and re-writes and I'm not sure how many more it'll go through. I know what I wanted to write, but for some reason it never seems to come out the way that I wanted. X( I'm wondering if I should just post it even though I don't feel satisfied with how it turned out, just so that I can continue the story. But I'm afraid that if I do that, then my next chapters will turn out just as bad, if not worse. I don't want to let myself succumb to bad writing habits when writing a full story (communication (via authors notes) doesn't count!).

...I also hate fight scenes. In a movie you can get away with: 'And he punched him, again, and again, and again. And the guy turned his head to spit out the loose tooth while kicking the other in the stomach. He reached for his head and banged it against the seat, leaving a bloodstain, and still they fought in the bathroom.' But it's hard to keep up the fast pace of fighting in the written works without writing so little that people can't understand what is going on... Its also not fair that a 5 minute speaking scene in a movie is equivalent to a 5 minute fighting scene in the same movie, while in writing the fight scene would usually be much shorter unless you add some interesting (and at times unnecessary) things...

So for now, Starlight chapter 3 is still pending.

Vibrations:

I am also glad to announce that I am once again working on Vibrations, though first I am redoing all those horrible chapters. I have reread through every chapter that I have written for Vibrations, and thankfully there is enough salvageable that I won't likely remove any scenes. No, I'll only strip them down to their basic ideas and rewrite the whole thing... -.-' Anyways, I would like to have you know that I just finished the second chapter. Now to all of you wondering why the first chapter wasn't the one I started with, I'd like to have you know that I had already started working on a revised second chapter before my great exodus, so I decided that it would be best if I finished that one before moving onto any other... And you know what? Just for the heck of it I'm going to revise the first chapter last, just to see who else is willing to read through it before actually getting to something legible.

Vibrations chapter 4 will be revised once Starlight chapter 3 is out.

A Note on Procrastination:

Now I am easily demotivated, so if anyone starts to see me slack off, kick me in the butt with a PM and help get my butt in gear. Please. I have run too far from criticism in the past, and have gained nothing for it. So really, you see me being lazy? Inform me and feel free to rant on how authors like me are the bane of the written world. I know this is fanfiction and not a job, but I should start treating it like it is. I may not 'have an obligation to readers', but as soon as I posted my first multi-chapter story I submitted myself to those readers, and so yes I do have an obligation to them, and nothing short of death will pull me away from that.

In short? It's time to get the ball rolling!

Summery:Naruto was blindly attacked at the age of five. The villagers and shinobi were stopped before they could cause too much harm, but there was one thing that they utterly destroyed. His hearing. Naruto gets the ability to sense the slightest vibration, along with the ability to lip-read. Naruto grows up, even more of a genius then the Uchiha Sasuke, but unable to become better, due to the fact that he also cannot read. Will his genius take him to new and higher places? Naruto strives to find out. And maybe, just maybe, he might be able to hear once more.

I want to reaffirm that this fiction was written purely for fun, and as such no storyline is being followed, instead, it will be written as it comes to me... Come to think of it, it'll probably be its downfall, as well.
