- Flames are no longer tolerated. I'm sorry if you hate my story, but I didn't exactly force you to read it, now did I?

- Most reviews will not be replied to ever, possibly not ever seen, due to a hiatus on my part (explanation below, if you care to peruse it).

-Constructive criticism is always valued far above "YOMG! SO CUTE!" Keep that in mind.

-I categorically refuse to review everything I read. If you get a review from me it means either something you write sparked my brain, or I was just in a particularly teacher-y kind of mood.

PSEUDO-HIATUS RATIONAL

Due to personal reasons of my own, in combination with a new original project and a certain hatred for most of the people and writing on this site, I will be taking a break from FF.net. This will continue indefinitely.

I will continue to write and post. I just will do very little else. Interaction on this site will fall to a minimum. Updates will be long in coming, and new works likely to be nonexistent.

Part of this is because I now wish to spend a lot more time and energy on an independent, original story or two. Another reason is that I'm looking to the future. My greatest wish is to earn a vocal performance degree and sing with the Cirque du Soleil. To these ends, I will be neglecting fanfiction in favor of my music.

My other motivation is a sort of general dislike for the population of this site and much of their writing. While I do have my favorite authors and a few stories that I like very much indeed, and I do know that there is some very good writing in the archives, the vast, vast majority of it is shit. Quite a few people on this site are also very, very difficult to bear with equanimity. Most of them refuse to bugger off and harass someone else, and so I am isolating myself from them.

To the many people who aren't flamers, assholes, or kindergarten-level writers, I'm very sorry that you are so outnumbered by those who are. I am also sorry to be leaving you. My best wishes for your future lives and happiness.

I may or may not return at some point in the future. The facts and evidence are all currently pointing to the later, however.

24/1/11

I would like to amend this statement, almost a year later, however I am leaving the original up for a reason; these people still exist and in some ways it is still applicable.

I am no longer avoiding the archives with the same avidity that I did last year. I have, however, moved on to other archives and fandoms, and I find the authors there to be more mature palatable.

I am no longer clinging desperately to a no-reviews policy. Again, the people with whom I find myself interacting are far less fetid in behavior and temperament.

I am still saying updates will be long in coming, but that has more to do with my own temperamental whimsy and the fact that rehearsals for a musical are taking up a great deal of my life.

I hope, dear reader, that this is a clarification to you.

24/1/11

Okay, so maybe I forgot to mention that I got to go see Phantom of the Opera in place of West Side Story...and that it was my first Broadway show ever...and that it rocked.

Hugh Panaro = awesome

^ He's the Phantom, by the way.

I've fallen into that most heinous of traps; not writing. Except that I haven't. I've actually fallen into that second most heinous of traps; writing on stories that aren't ones that I have published. Things I am currently working on:

A really, really long Haru-Sari fic (currently twelve pages and no end in sight). Title: Ephemerid

A really, really long Dr Who fic, placed in Jessa L'Rynn's Rose-as-the-Doctor AU (about fifteen pages and no end in sight). Working Title: Rose

A chapter--or three-- for Leader that, while actually for a story I've begun publishing, will need about five other chapters in between them and where my linear plotline is as of now.

An extremely long Phantom fic (ten pages, etc, etc.). Working Title: Perfect World AU

Also, I'm recently riding a bit a a Jane Eyre/Regency Romance/Black Jewels Trilogy high, which means that I keep reading those books over and over and don't so anything else. A prime example; this weekend, after seeing the BBC miniseries, I read Jane Eyre straight through not once, not twice, but three times. Unfortunately, none of these subjects inspire me to write fanfiction.

To placate you (or at least the people who read my Phanfiction), I am posting a number of brief Phantom oneshots that I wrote for no purpose other than to get them out of my head. They are shoddy, but they are writing, so I beg you forgive me until such a time as I can rectify the mistake and pay the debt--by posting all these very, very long pieces I'm working on.

Also, Mr Rochester? Upon fervent perusal I find him kind of asinine.

Hugs and Kisses,

Eden

24/5/11

Tomorrow I go to see West Side Story (yesyesyesyesyes!). In the meanwhile I attempt to write with an infected ex-hangnail and wait for the hot salt water I spent five hours with my hand in to make the yucky bacterial ooze go away.

I have a name for the sinfully long DW story now; it is called L'Enfant Vaillant, which means "The Child Valiant" in French. For anyone in the know, yes, that is "Valiant Child" and yes it is about Rose. Driving Instructors of the Universe fits into this universe...sort of. Which you should totally read and review, especially if your name is Kara or Susie.

Hugs and Kisses,

Eden

11/10/11

Five months later, I finally report on WSS and other things.

First, West Side Story was a gross disappointment. Maria was bad, Tony was awful. Actually, the actor played Tony as a geeky sort of character (wrong wrongedy wrong wrong!)

Second, my computer is dead, yet again. Not a hard drive malfunction this time, yay God amen, but still. Urgh.

Third, I've so much L'enfant written that I cannot yet post. CURSES COMPUTER GODS! Most of it is in my lovely red fanfic notebook.

Fourth, I HATE YOU STEVEN MOFFAT! What business does he have trampling my canon-reconciliation? What business does he have killing off the Doctor a billion million times this season? What business does he have marrying the Doctor off??!?!?! I may be just a little bit peeved, ya.

Fifth, I have so much work. My schedule looks like this: Monday, school 7.30 to 2.15, after, blissful nothing (3 hours homework); Tuesday, school, work 3-7, choir 7.30 PM- 9.30 (4 hours homework); Wednesday, school, violin 5.45-6.30 (4.5 hours homework); Thursday, school, voice 3.15-4, more blissful nothing (3 hours homework); Friday, school, work, dead; Saturday, work 1-7; Sunday, housecleaning (6-8 hours homework). Meep!

So I'm writing a lot in my snatches of spare time and reading fanfic on my new phone (the ff.net is terrible on my aforementioned cellular device), and I've generated another fifty or so pages of L'enfant vaillant, in addition to half of a one shot called 1-800-HOMEWORK! which was inspired by a wonderful thing the Doctor says in The Wedding of River Song, which I latched on to with both hands and also my teeth and proceeded to run with. You may see that soon-ish. Assuming my computer gets fixed.

I've finally decided, however, to partition and edit the first chapter of L'enfant, so that should, (again, computer pending) be up around the beginning of December, since I think I'll be rewriting a good deal of it. Keep your fingers crossed! Maybe the fates will give me enough time and a laptop that works!

Hugs and Kisses,

Eden

16/10/11

So here I am again, this time with a laptop that works. I'm still running Ubuntu (now Ocelot, though, so pretty!), but my peripherals magically work again, which means hopefully I shall never have to loose fifty pages of work in a swoop ever again.

I solemnly swear that I am working on new chapters of Leader and Firefly, and L'enfant Vaillant is actually getting its ass in major gear.

For the next two weeks you may pester me in order to make me update; the three weeks following that are going to yeild no joy for you as I prepare to, and go to, France for two weeks. Then Christmas will happen and I promise I'll get something up. Then Musical Hell Month begins and I make no promises, then Midterms, then a few short weeks of blesséd peace in which I'll try to hammer out some stuff...Yeah.

Needless to say, things like NaNo will not be happening this year.

Hugs and Kisses,

Eden

18/11/11

So I promised you some writing. And it turns out I lied.

See, at my highschool every honors+ science class from Chem onwards requires participation in a horrible state-run science fair known as Science Horizons. This generates so much form-filling and general busywork that I HAVE NO TIME FOR ANYTHING.

On top of this sits musical, like a stupid paper hat during Christmas dinner perches on your grandfather's head. In the musical (we're doing Willy Wonka this year), I play Mrs Bucket, who does much less singing than I was lead to believe (angryface), and appears only in the first act (which is making rehearsals interesting). Musical is every day from 4-7.

Furthermore my vision problems, previously mild, have suddenly escalated in an alarming manner. Where reading for hours used to give me a slight headache, after twenty minutes reading my eyes now ache and burn, and everything is blurry. Where I used to be able to focus easily, now my world slides in and out of focus. So yeah. Needs glasses.

When I brought this up my mother made an appointment for next Monday. That is, this coming Monday, from today. She made the appointment near a month and a half ago. So long without sight, and then my glasses probably wont even be ready by the time I'm hightailing it to France. YURGH!!!!

So yeah. No writing, since I can barely see the screen.

Hugs and Kisses,

Eden

5/2/12

So I could had glasses a while ago, but then this thing called musical happened. And happened. And happened some more, to the point that I HAD NO TIME FOR ANYTHING EVER.

But we did our last show tonight, and on that maudlin note it occurred to me to update this page.

I've recently become hardcore obsessed with Sherlock on the BBC. I like Molly/Sherlock (I mean their couple name is Sherlolly, what's not to love), though all my friends think I am crazy and ship John/Sherlock.

I still have to do Science Horizons, and will probably be faking it hardcore.

Also, I've begun using "hardcore" alot, along with "dat [insert noun here]" and a number of other irritating phrases( "All the [noun]s", etc.). Not all of my fellow Willy Wonka cast members have been a good influence on me.

I hope to do some work on OMAM (I'msosorrysorrysorry) which I haven't updated in TWO YEARS+ (sorrysorrysorry). Also on Firefly (sorry) and also Leader. L'Enfant has been delayed by some major re-writes. I'm always doing this to you, where I swear to update/write and it turns out I'm a flagrant liar.

Sorry?

My only excuse is this thing called school. Since I am trying to get into the international equivalent of an Ivy League uni, this takes some precedence.

Hugs and Kisses,

Eden
